The community of Vellexon would like to establish a space for social connections in the heart of their town. To make it possible, this year we're continuing with the creation of a place that should soon host exchanges focused on solidarity and intergenerational links. To contribute to this development, you will be renovating the paving (floor) of the wash-house which is located next to this square for around 6 hours per day. You will learn techniques of traditional masonry (wall-building). There is no knowledge required! You will evolve as a team with the help of two leaders, sharing all tasks associated with collective life such as, cooking, cleaning, after work activities, etc.
Small but active, the community of Vellexon-Queutrey-et-Vaudey is counting on international volunteers to transform its territory! The inhabitants of this village in Haute-Saône are looking forward to welcoming their second international workcamp. It corresponds to the UN mission of “sustainable cities and communities” and its goals. This includes discovering new and different ways of thinking and acting, sharing skills, investing oneself to develop an area and taking part in the collective life: there will be many possibilities to promote solidarity! Each workcamp offers unique experiences, so come to Vellexon and make your own!
The community of Vellexon-Queutrey-et-Vaudey (70130) is situated at 25km from Gray(70100), 30km from Vesoul (70000) and 50km from Besançon (25000) in the region “Haute-Saône”. May it be during the afternoons or the weekends, it will be your group that initiates and organizes the activities for the free time. The ideal programme will take into account the wishes of everybody, the local possibilities (hikes, local artists, summer concerts, “châteaux”, etc) and the financial side of things. You can also rely on the support of the villagers to organize moments of exchange, and they will be delighted to share with you and to give advice on how to best discover the local environment and enjoy your stay.
The commune will provide two areas especially for your group: the first will be dedicated to sleeping, with communal rooms for three or four people mixed-gender, with mattresses provided by the local population. Please bring your own covers, pillows or sleeping bags. The second space is a multi-purpose room with a kitchen, ideal for meals and socializing. Showers and laundry will be done in the homes of the locals. The worksite is only three minutes away by foot and for other trips like going shopping or visiting the surroundings, the locals will be gladly willing to help out. Accompanied by the camp leaders, you will make the menu and prepare the meals each day, in turn. The budget is approx. 5€ per day and person. There will be the possibility to eat vegetarian or vegan and plan accordingly, if necessary. Often you will share meals with the villagers giving you the opportunity to discover the local gastronomy and to share special moments together.
There are absolutely no requirements in terms of linguistic or technical abilities. Just be aware that you need to carry relatively small stones for the actual work.
A meeting point and time will be organized to make the arrival easier, which is in general at the end of the afternoon between 16 and 18 o'clock. The departure on the last day will be around 10 o'clock.

The work will take place at Oosterhouw in Leens (province Groningen). It is a beautiful monumental manor house surrounded by a garden divided into four different styles. Many parts of these gardens have been neglected over the past decades. Volunteers will be cleaning up and helping restore the gardens to their former glory. Activities range from groundwork like digging and levelling to gardening such as weeding and pruning to wood shredding and splitting. The volunteers will work in the gardens five days a week. This excludes the weekends. We will provide participants access to online training modules provided by the European Solidarity Corps and/ or SIW.
The mansion Oosterhouw in Leens is located in the north of the Netherlands in the province of Groningen. The estate is surrounded by a flat agricultural landscape approximately 10 km from the Wadden Sea UNESCO heritage. Oosterhouw was built in 1868. The last time the building was renovated was in 1912-1913. After that, there weren’t any significant developments. The former owners of the mansion were C.o Jellema and Klaas Noordhuis. Co. Jellema is a semi-known poet in the Netherlands, and his current library is still in the house. Klaas Noordhuis was a garden architect and has added essential aspects to the garden. The current owners bought the house a few years ago and want to open the house more to the public. The house, the garden and the surrounding landscape are unique in this area and must be protected and taken care of.
You will have leisure time after work (work ends at 4 p.m.). The Oosterhouw area mainly consists of small villages with Leens as the main village. You will have bikes at your disposal to explore the surrounding area. During the weekend you can enjoy your free time. There are plenty of nice places to visit, for example the beautiful and vibrant city of Groningen or take a ferry boat and visit the island of Schiermonnikoog.
During the two weeks, the volunteers will be staying at Camping "De Horizon" Molenrij near by Kloosterburen. The whole group will be staying in tents provided by SIW. There is also a large tent for group activities during freetime Two tiny houses are on the campground with all cooking facilities. Make sure you bring a sleeping matrass/mat and your own sheets! Bicycles will be provided for transportation between the accommodation and the gardens of Oosterhouw. The bike ride from and to the accommodation is approximately 15 minutes. You will cook together in teams, taking turns and having the opportunity to cook meals from your home countries. You have a kitchen at your disposal. Self-organisation is also a vital point during your daily camp routines. Cooking and cleaning are planned and done independently within the group. Each participant is expected to take part in the CCC (cooking-cleaning-crew).

There will also be an activity in a protected area cutting bamboo to protect the endemic vegetation and use it for the carnival activities. For an amazing experience of exchange, they could talk about carnival traditions in their countries and also teach the volunteers typical songs or dances. The local team of volunteers will support the international ones for translation, but, don’t forget to be flexible in this. Every week the volunteers will go once to a retirement home to present their countries. Some of Carignano's families will host the volunteers for a dinner in their home to share their culture and way of life. Moreover, for the first week of the workcamp, some Italian volunteers could be involved from an association called AU.DI.DO (autonomy for disabled people) so be willing to work with people with disabilities.

The camp is designed as a space for socializing, mutual communication, and the inclusion of people with developmental disabilities alongside volunteers from the general population, who come from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Volunteers will work at the "Oasis," engaging in everyday activities with the users of the facility. The main activities will include tasks that the users typically perform in their daily lives, such as: Maintenance and organization of the living and working spaces Tidying up the yard and plot Pulling weeds (not the kind you're thinking of, hehe) and working in the garden (planting, hoeing, watering, crop care, and harvesting) Sorting fruits and vegetables for various purposes: feeding camp members, distributing to socially disadvantaged individuals in the local community, feeding livestock, and creating compost Feeding animals and maintaining their living spaces Emptying recycling containers with PET packaging, pressing the packaging Visiting vulnerable families in the local community Additionally, a portion of the camp will focus on the artistic decoration of the wall in the garden, allowing for creative expression.
The association "Living Together" was founded in 1997 by a group of parents with the goal of improving the quality of life for their children with intellectual disabilities, their families, and the entire social community. With extensive experience in working with people with disabilities, the association organizes various events to promote inclusion. The mission of the Association is to make people with developmental disabilities visible, active, and present in all areas of social life. They aim to affirm the abilities and individuality of people with disabilities, promote their rights, and enable them to live a dignified and fulfilling life. The association values equality, equal opportunities, commitment, tolerance, solidarity, and the continuous education of all members. Young Researchers of Serbia (YRS), founded in 1976, focuses on environmental protection, education, sustainable development, and working with youth in an international context. YRS promotes scientific creativity, voluntarism, and its values. Voluntary Service of Serbia, a volunteer exchange service center founded in 1990, operates as one of the sectors of YRS.
The camp will take place in Golubinci, a village/town located in the municipality of Stara Pazova, just 8 km away from the town center. Stara Pazova has a population of around 5,000 people and is a multicultural environment. While the majority of the population follows the Orthodox faith, there is also a significant Catholic presence. In the town center, you will find Orthodox and Catholic churches, a supermarket, a post office, a school, a kindergarten, a health center, and several cafes. One of the most interesting features of the area is the Schloss castle, dating back to the 18th century. It is surrounded by tales of curses, infidelities, and punishments. The castle holds historical and architectural significance as it was visited by notable figures such as Karađorđe Petrović (leader of the First Serbian Uprising) and composer Ludwig van Beethoven. Throughout the year, various local events and festivals take place in Stara Pazova, including the Cat Festival (with a masquerade ball and carnival), Days of Rosemary, and Earth Day. During the volunteers' stay, the town will be celebrating Petrovdan – the local holiday, during which numerous outdoor activities and a fair will be held, enjoyed by all the locals. Stara Pazova is well-connected to major cultural hubs, with Novi Sad and Belgrade easily accessible by train (just 20 minutes away). So, trips to these beautiful cities can be organized with ease. We simply recommend that you bring patience and a smile, and it will surely be a memorable adventure!
Camp Oasis Golubinci brings together people of goodwill who are ready to offer support and assistance in both the lives and work of adults with developmental disabilities. Oasis Golubinci is a living and working community for people with disabilities, and it provides accommodation for both volunteers and users within the Oasis itself. Volunteers will be housed in well-equipped houses that include all necessary amenities, such as an adequate number of bathrooms, kitchens, and dining areas. Accommodation will be in double or triple rooms. All houses/accommodation units are located in the same yard, fostering a close-knit environment, though volunteers may stay in separate houses. There are four different kitchens on the premises, where volunteers will take part in food preparation. The association will provide the necessary food based on available resources. Bedding will be provided to all volunteers during their stay.
There are no specific requirements, but if you want to make your life easier, prepare adequate clothes, a good mosquito repellent and shoes for working outside.
The more on the meeting point will be provided in the Infosheet.

Organize activities such as origami, collage work, music, and dance.
Art is often considered the process or product of deliberately arranging elements to appeal to the senses or emotions. It encompasses various human activities, creations, and ways of expression, including music, literature, film, sculpture, and paintings. Children of all ages love arts and crafts. They love getting creative and messy and admiring their masterpieces when they are finished. The great thing about arts and crafts is that they aid children's development in many other areas. When children manipulate a paintbrush, their fine motor skills improve. They experiment with materials and dabble in science. Most importantly, when kids feel good while creating, art helps boost their self-confidence. This unrestricted exploration helps children form brain connections, learn, and have fun. It is a natural activity that supports this free play in children. Art and craft are fundamental to our everyday lives, and encouraging children to learn about them will only benefit them as they grow older. Art can help children develop feelings, while craft can develop thinking and coordination skills. Art communicates a familiar story that can bring us all together as humans. Art is essential because other humans are essential, allowing us to understand each other. This project was developed to improve children's creativity. It aids children in thinking creatively and learning to connect with their imagination. Creativity can make children happier. Children express their emotions through arts and crafts, which makes them feel calmer and happier. Art and crafts projects are excellent for children's development. They allow children to practice their skills, such as coordination (e.g., cutting and shaping), understanding shapes and colors, and exploring their hidden interests and talents. Both ways can bring about positive life-enhancing change for you and the Nepalese people. As a volunteer, you will be given the unique opportunity to teach arts and crafts of your choice and learn the trade through the artistic lens of the Nepalese people. Arts and crafts would also include dance. Here's your chance to make a creative difference in Nepal through art.

Children's Development is one of the major programs in VIN's Integrated Community Development Approach. The goal of the Children's Development program is to protect the rights of all children by providing them access to basic quality education, developing their life skills, and providing access to health services through community health programs. Even recently, schools in Nepal have focused on examinations and done little to develop students' creativity. Teachers only focus on reading and writing—rote learning. Children's creativity is not explored. Due to parents' busy work schedules, most children do not have the opportunity to socialize and be creative. Such camps are essential to provide opportunities for socialization and creativity for children (aged 6-12). At VIN’s working area in Okhaldhunga, children lack the proper structure and environment to develop their innate talents at home or school. Children's camp (in winter and summer) is one of the best places to explore their natural talents and creativity. At this work camp, national and international volunteers facilitate different fun and creative activities for the target children where VIN works.
