You'll be working on a timber frame for a hiking shelter, located in the immediate proximity of the Abbey of Clausonne. A local carpenter will guide you in assembling the supporting structure, making the joints and building the floor. Each day, two members of the group will rotate in preparing meals for the team; the menu will be defined in advance. You'll work on-site during the mornings from Monday to Friday. Generally speaking, the work involves carpentry, preparing tools and meals, as well as organizing and setting up community life.
A small valley in the heart of a sublime alpine landscape, the remains of the 12th-century abbey of Clausonne, and a 300 km hiking trail. All this invites you to discover this rural area and its history! Here, for the past 30 years, a local association has been involved in preserving and promoting the site, as well as contributing to the life of Clausonne and writing its present-day history. Last summer, work began on the construction of a hiker's shelter on the site. As this is a stage on an itinerary of ancient transhumance routes, you'll be contributing to welcoming cyclists and hikers for years to come. This project is just one of the many initiatives in which international and local volunteers, the people on work integration programs and other professionals have participated over the years. You'll be staying at the Ferme du Faï, an old mountain farmhouse that's kept alive by a team of employees working on the renovation of the buildings, artists and musicians in artistic residence, hikers passing through and the curious. Roll up your sleeves and join us on-site and in our collective living space!
The Clausonne site is a 20-minute walk from Ferme du Faï. Le Faï is 2 km from the village of Le Saix and 13 km from the town of Veynes. There's no Wi-Fi, so the connection is weak, but you'll meet people from all over the world! The site is located below the summit of Aujour Mountain, so the view may inspire you to discover the pleasure of the hike in your spare time. Indeed, this wilderness spot is ideal for mountain walking and wandering. You'll have the chance to discover the area in the company of a group of international volunteers, which will enrich your experience. Here, you'll be the protagonist of your stay: you'll organize your free time together with the support of our staff.
We will host you at the Faï FermeFaï, a welcoming site located at an altitude of 1000 meters. You will be accommodated in individual tents. A kitchen, dry toilets, and showers will be at your disposal at the site. Here, we take care with our food to reduce our environmental impact: we eat local as much as possible and reduce our meat consumption to twice a week. Daily life is organized collectively: menus (vegetarian, vegan diets, etc.), shopping, activities, and so on.
Shuttle to Ferme du Faï from Veynes-Dévoluy station. See you on July 8, 2025, from 3 pm.

The Sachsenhausen Memorial was one of the largest concentration camps in Germany and was built in 1936 near Berlin. More than 200,000 people from all over Europe were imprisoned here by the Nazi SS. The prisoners were forced to perform inhumane labor, and thousands died or were murdered. After the liberation in 1945, the Soviet secret service established Special Camp No.7/No.1 on the site for the internment of former Nazi functionaries and political opponents. Today the memorial is a place of remembrance, learning and research. More information: www.sachsenhausen-sbg.de/en/
Area: Sachsenhausen is a part of Oranienburg, ca. 33 km to the north of Berlin. Sachsenhausen was one of the earliest concentration camps in Germany, built in 1936. For example, German people who were in opposition to Nazi policy, homosexuals, so-called asocials, criminals, Jews, and during the war especially people from occupied countries were imprisoned, forced to work and a lot of them were murdered. Between 1945 and 1950 a part of this area was used as a so-called Special Camp of the Soviet Secret Service Leisure: Volunteers have to be able to ride a bike, as several shorter and longer bike rides are planned. Bicycles are provided, but helmets are not required. In the free time it's possible to go to Berlin or Potsdam. The volunteers will find many forests and lakes to walk, cycle or just relax. However, the free time activities will mainly depend on participants' ideas.
Accomodation: You will be accommodated in a youth hostel. The building is on the grounds of historical Sachsenhausen concentration camp complex and was built in 1938 as the official residence of the Concentration Camp Inspector, 2 km away from the memorial centre. It is not necessary to bring a sleeping bag. Bed sheets and linen will be provided. You will sleep in shared rooms with a lot of space. It is possible to use the washing machine and the dryer for a small fee. More information: https://www.jugendherbergen-berlin-brandenburg.de/en/youth-hostels/sachsenhausen-686/portrait/ Food: In the hostel there is a big kitchen for the group. Please be prepared not only to cook there, but also to clean up afterwards ;) This will be done by the kitchen team of your group. Volunteers have to cook the meals for themselves. Please bring easy recipes from your home country.

You will be working on the preservation of the south facade of the Hôtellerie building, in the hamlet of Vaunières. This stone façade is currently covered with a layer of insulation and a really damaged finish. The first phase of work will therefore involve removing the insulation to reveal the ancient masonry. Next, you will repoint the stones with mortar, and then apply the bonding plaster. A local expert will guide you through the various phases of the project. Some activities involve working on scaffolding. Each day, two members of the group will take turns preparing meals for the team; the menu will be defined in advance. You'll work on-site during the morning, Monday to Friday. Generally speaking, the work involves masonry, preparing tools and meals, as well as organizing and setting up collective life.
At the heart of an impressive mountain cirque in the French Alps, the hamlet of Vaunières sits on a vast, gently sloping plain. Large stone buildings nestled between meadows and forests... But this village is not like the others! Purchased as a ruin in the 60s by the Les Villages des Jeunes association, the site is now completely renewed, bustling with life thanks to the many events that take place here and the many local and international connections. Vaunières is a place to meet, to work; to enjoy the peace of the mountains, and the dynamism of the area. Today, the site lives and breathes thanks to a team of employees working on the maintenance of the site, volunteers, tourists, hikers, and aficionados. Roll up your sleeves and join us on-site and in our collective life spaces.
The hamlet of Vaunières is 6km from Saint Julien en Beauchêne village and 23km from the nearby town of Veynes. There's no Wi-Fi, and the connection is weak, but you'll meet people from all over the world! You will be in an exceptional location to discover the pleasures of hiking in the mountains, wandering near rivers and lakes, enjoying local markets, and festive evenings organized in the surrounding villages (according to the program). Discover this place in the company of a group of international volunteers who will enrich your experience. Here, you will be the protagonist of your stay: you'll organize your own free time and benefit from the support of our staff.
We welcome you to the hamlet of the Vaunières, at an altitude of 1170 meters. You'll be accommodated in dormitories with sanitary facilities, kitchen, and dining facilities at your disposal. Here, we pay close attention to our diet to reduce our environmental impact: we eat locally as much as possible and reduce our meat consumption to twice a week. Daily life is organized collectively: menus (vegetarian, vegan diets, etc.), shopping, activities, and so on. Once or twice for weeks, we organize shopping trips using the vehicles provided on site.

The aim of this project is to rebuild the perimeter wall of the former priory, located behind the school and alongside the stream. The work will involve restoring and consolidating this structure to ensure its solidity, while ensuring that it blends harmoniously into the surrounding landscape. As well as helping to preserve the local heritage, the project will give volunteers an opportunity to learn traditional masonry techniques, such as cutting and assembling stones, repointing and laying mortar. You don't need any qualifications to take part, just your enthusiasm and desire to learn. You will be supervised by experienced professionals who will guide you through the various stages of the work. Don't forget to bring suitable, comfortable, and hard-wearing clothing, as there is a risk that your clothes will be damaged or soiled. All the necessary safety equipment will be provided.
Saint-Genis-de-Saintonge is a commune in south-west France, in the Cognac region, in the heart of the Charente countryside, close to the Lande forest and a short distance from the banks of the Gironde estuary. This commune is a long-standing partner of the association, with whom we carried out the first workcamps in the Charente-Maritime region in 1996. After a ten-year hiatus in projects in the area, in 2019 the municipality wanted to rekindle the intercultural momentum generated by the work camps, and in particular to use them to renovate the cemetery walls last year.
The aim will be to share your cultural wealth with the residents and associations of Saint-Genis-De-Saintonge. Visits to the region will be organised collectively according to your wishes (visits, ocean, museums, etc.). You can discover local towns such as St Emilion, Bordeaux, La Rochelle, etc. Leisure activities and local events will give you the chance to meet the locals!
You will sleep in La maison Bibard, a house recently acquired by the municipality. Participants will sleep in 3 areas equipped with mattresses. The house has all amenities (toilets, kitchens, etc.), but showers will be taken at the nearby gym (100m). You must bring your own duvet and pillow. Bicycles are available for use during the project. Food will be provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Meals will be prepared, in turn, by you, especially for lunch and dinner, while respecting environmental values and local resources, as well as everyone's culture (hot and cold dishes as well as vegetarian and vegan dishes will be prepared).
The meeting point is Jonzac station, on Tuesday 8 July, between 3p.m and 5p.m. The organisers will provide a shuttle service between the station and the accommodation. All the information you need to get there will be in the project roadmap.

Objective: To allow children to develop their creativity through arts and crafts. To promote friendship, understanding, and solidarity among local young volunteers and cross-national volunteers. To understand the importance of the Holi festival and learn how it is celebrated. Activities: Develop and conduct a session for the children to draw, paint, create gifts and crafts, or express themselves artistically. Organize activities such as origami, collage work, music, and dance.
Art is often considered the process or product of deliberately arranging elements to appeal to the senses or emotions. It encompasses various human activities, creations, and ways of expression, including music, literature, film, sculpture, and paintings. Children of all ages love arts and crafts. They love getting creative and messy and admiring their masterpieces when they are finished. The great thing about arts and crafts is that they aid children's development in many other areas. When children manipulate a paintbrush, their fine motor skills improve. They experiment with materials and dabble in science. Most importantly, when kids feel good while creating, art helps boost their self-confidence. This unrestricted exploration helps children form brain connections, learn, and have fun. It is a natural activity that supports this free play in children. Art and craft are fundamental to our everyday lives, and encouraging children to learn about them will only benefit them as they grow older. Art can help children develop feelings, while craft can develop thinking and coordination skills. Art communicates a familiar story that can bring us all together as humans. Art is essential because other humans are essential, allowing us to understand each other. This project was developed to improve children's creativity. It aids children in thinking creatively and learning to connect with their imagination. Creativity can make children happier. Children express their emotions through arts and crafts, which makes them feel calmer and happier. Art and crafts projects are excellent for children's development. They allow children to practice their skills, such as coordination (e.g., cutting and shaping), understanding shapes and colors, and exploring their hidden interests and talents. Both ways can bring about positive life-enhancing change for you and the Nepalese people. As a volunteer, you will be given the unique opportunity to teach arts and crafts of your choice and learn the trade through the artistic lens of the Nepalese people. Arts and crafts would also include dance. Here's your chance to make a creative difference in Nepal through art.

VIN’s Environmental and Conservation Programs raise community awareness of critical environmental issues and develop effective solutions. VIN runs various ecological projects that aim to conserve, promote, and protect the environment and culture while preventing, mitigating, and controlling water, land, and air pollution to enhance the health, safety, and welfare of current and future generations. We utilize permaculture for sustainable farming and have been teaching and implementing it since 2018. We believe that permaculture plays a vital role in restoring the entire ecosystem! Agriculture provides subsistence and employment for 80% of Nepal's population, accounting for approximately 39% of the total GDP. The sector's development is crucial for empowering those who rely on it and for the national economy. Since Nepal is in the Himalayan region, climate change has significantly impacted the country. Water sources are drying up, new types of moths and insects have emerged, and the timing of crop cultivation has shifted. Unexpected climate changes, unpredictable rainfall, droughts, and more are the consequences of global warming that Nepalese farmers are facing.
As a volunteer, you will collaborate with the farmer’s VIN, which specializes in permaculture. The work is typically hands-on, and you’ll design the farm according to permaculture principles, including cultivating crops, weeding, irrigating, gathering materials, digging, and creating beds. Support farmers in making organic fertilizers like compost. Observe, interact, learn and implement.

Volunteers can engage children in fun and educational activities during a Summar camp and promote overall development. Physical Exercises: To promote health and well-being, include activities such as yoga, stretching, sports, or simple fitness routines. Team-Building Sessions: Organize games and group challenges to encourage collaboration, communication, and social skills. Creative Workshops: Facilitate drawing, coloring, painting, crafting, and origami sessions to inspire creativity and self-expression. Performing Arts: Teach singing, dancing, drama, and music to boost confidence, enhance creativity, and provide entertainment. Outdoor Exploration: Plan hikes, nature walks, or outdoor play to combine learning with physical activity and appreciation of the environment. Language Teaching: Help children improve their communication skills by teaching them new vocabulary, practicing conversational language, or introducing basic phrases in different languages.
Children's Development is one of the major programs in VIN's Integrated Community Development Approach. The goal of the Children's Development program is to protect the rights of all children by providing them access to basic quality education, developing their life skills, and providing access to health services through community health programs. Even recently, schools in Nepal have focused on examinations and done little to develop students' creativity. Teachers only focus on reading and writing—rote learning. Children's creativity is not explored. Due to parents' busy work schedules, most children do not have the opportunity to socialize and be creative. Such camps are essential to provide opportunities for socialization and creativity for children (aged 6-12). At VIN’s working area in Okhaldhunga, children lack the proper structure and environment to develop their innate talents at home or school. Children's camp (in winter and summer) is one of the best places to explore their natural talents and creativity. At this work camp, national and international volunteers facilitate different fun and creative activities for the target children where VIN works.
