The camp will consist of community service, Learning, Culture and evaluation Activities: • Awareness on waste management through street play and mural painting • Crop cultivation, composting, kitchen garden, • Medicinal plant cultivation and nursery management • Maintenance and management of organic garden • Cultural sites and local family visits as part of inter-cultural learning • Nature walk to learn about plants and their medicinal values • Non-formal education and renovation work at schools
FSL-India, (Field Services and Inter-cultural Learning - India) is a youth development organization focused towards Inter-cultural Learning through Voluntary Services set up to promote Global Understanding by providing opportunities to the youth to work in different cultural contexts to appreciate Inter-cultural learning. Thereby, reducing boundaries and bringing people to work together in harmony by understanding the Inter-cultural aspects focusing towards development of people and society through youth mobility and volunteerism. Founded in the year 2000 and legally incorporated in 2001, FSL-India is a Trust under Indian Trust Act 1882. It was formed with the support of like-minded National and International Organizations with a primary purpose to bring about global transformation, progress and growth through youth exchange programs. FSL-India is headquartered in Bangalore, with regional offices in Karnataka (Bangalore, Mysore, Mangalore and Kundapur) and Pondicherry and is well equipped with experienced associates who support developmental activities across the country with the help of Local and Regional Partners. Annually, FSL- Indi a mobilizes movement of 500 and more youths from across the globe with the support of International Partners and local NGOsnity.
Location: Kundapur is located 440 kms north-west of Bangalore, near the Arabian Sea and 91kms north of Mangalore Leisure Activities: An 82-foot statue of Anjaneya, commonly known as Hanuman, the monkey god is worth a visit, as is the Kotilingeshwara temple, an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to the god Shiva. Kodi Beach, one of the most spectacular in Karnataka is where you can catching amazing sunrises and sunsets. Climb up the winding, spiral staircase to the lantern house to enjoy the panoramic view of the ocean and the town beyond from the lighthouse. Gangoli is situated at the confluence of 5 rivers and the harbour is a busy place where you can interact with the fisherman community. Maravanthe is unique in that the Suparnika river flows on one side of the road, with the beach on the other, the only one of its kind in India. Kollur Mookambika and Murundeshwara temple where you can view the 2nd largest statue of Shiva, are popular pilgrim spots. Boating on the backwaters of Kundapur, visits to a cashewnut, rubber or tile factory are some interesting ways to spend your free time. You can also visit Indian families to exchange views on your cultures and participate in the cultural programs of the local community
Accommodation: At FSL-India’s Centre for Experiential Living, with shared rooms Food: South Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian food will be provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Safe, filtered water is available for drinking.

The Peace and Resilience Project is set in a calm, nature-rich region of Himachal Pradesh, far from any conflict zones. It invites volunteers from around the world to engage in meaningful, creative activities that promote peace, inner strength and cultural connection. This project also aims to send a global message that India is safe and welcoming for volunteers, despite external tensions. Each activity is designed to build emotional resilience, spark reflection, and foster a deeper sense of global solidarity.
Volunteers would compile information to convey message on peace, harmony and a safe environment having space for everyone regardless of their caste, creed and religion. They will visit 3-4 communities and interact with the people to better understand local values, culture, behaviour and prepare materials for future volunteers. The volunteers will also spend time on plantation, nurturing already planted trees, cleaning etc, do wall or pot planting with peace message promoting global peace and an environment for a better living. Since peace and environmental education and protection is the focus of the camp they will be expected to create awareness on issues like global warming, climate change, Carbon emission, sustainable lifestyle etc. while visiting local communities. The volunteers will also get an opportunity to get an exposure of other humanitarian projects, meeting with women groups, physical activity in RUCHI campus and work in communities or slums.

Ruchi campus which is located near Bandh village. It is 30 km from Kalka town and 60 km from Chandigarh city. The area offers a unique opportunity to live with nature in a peaceful environment. Self organized city tours and excursions. Old Sikh and Hindu temples in the near vicinity can be visited. Nearby Kasauli town, a hill station, is a major tourist attraction. A visit to Shimla, the state capital, will offer an opportunity to see high Himalayan Mountains and British architecture.
Volunteers will live in the RUCHI campus in shared accommodation. All minimum basic amenities will be available with library facilities. Vegetarian food will be served. A cook will be there but volunteers are expected to help him and occasionally cook their own meals and self- management is required. Sleeping bags are not necessary but required for personal hygiene.

The Western Ghats is India's prime zone for bio-diversity and is known for its animal and plant species in this region. Volunteers will be working with waste products like polythene items, discarded vehicle tyres, water bottles, cans, old furniture, unused clothes, eco-bricks, farm waste and bamboos etc to recycle them and make products of uses. This will involve education and building entrepreneurial skills among staff and local communities. For over four years, RUCHI has already been involved in creative use of bye products, waste materials or unused/unwanted items into new usable materials. In between you will also be participating in our ongoing humanitarian actions like Non formal education, women empowerment initiatives, environment conservation, waste upcycling, organic farming etc and interacting with local people on daily basis.

Ruchi campus is located near Bandh village. It is 30 km from Kalka and 60 km from Chandigarh. Bandh village is small located in interior mountainous area and the volunteers will have a unique opportunity to live with nature in a peaceful environment. RUCHI campus is one km. from the village. Self organized city tours and excursions. Old Sikh and Hindu temples in the near vicinity can be visited. Nearby Kasauli town is another hill station as a tourist attraction. A visit to Shimla will offer an opportunity to see high Himalayan Mountains.
Volunteers will live in the RUCHI campus. All basic amenities will be available with library facilities. Asian squat type toilet and English WC will be available. Vegetarian food will be served. A cook will be there but volunteers are expected to help him and occasionally cook their own meals. Self-management is required. Meantime volunteer can learn Indian cuisine (cooking). Sleeping bag is not required.

There will mainly focus on conserving the group of monuments of cultural heritage site at Hampi. For the last 10 years, FSL India has been working with UNESCO World Heritage Centre, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), the management of local schools, local NGOs, INTACH and the local tour guide association. Concentrate on the protection of its cultural heritage, sites of historical importance and on creating awareness among the locals, school children, tour-guides and tourists, to infuse a sense of responsibility towards the protection of these priceless monuments. Here, you will help to convert dry areas into beautiful, restful spots by planting trees and flowering plants. Street plays to create awareness, creativity, physical work and archaeological delights are all hallmarks of this unique work camp 1 Clean up and scrub around monuments dating back to 1 CE, to preserve and maintain their beauty and cultural heritage Sessions in school on waste management and Install garbage bins in the community Awareness campaign to the community and tourist on cleanliness 2 Construction of Hand wash basin and Training on Self surviving skills 3 Awaken your thespian skills with a Street Play, to create awareness of heritage conservation 4 Instill patriotism in school children, make them aware of their rich cultural and historical heritage 5 Use your creativity to educate the public on heritage conservation, paint murals in public area

Some of the fun things to do at Hampi are taking a coracle ride in the nearby Tungabhadra river. These round cane boats have been a mode of transport here from the 15th century. You can also hire a bicycle and take the ride down to any of the interesting ruins, go bouldering or trekking. Some must-visits are Vijaya Vittala, the extraordinary architectural marvel with 56 musical pillars, which create melodic sounds when tapped delicately, the stunning Virupaksha and Krishna temples, the Royal Enclosure with the Queen’s bath and Lotus Mahal (palace). Anegundi, or Kishkindha, the capital of the Vijayanagar empire is a fine repository of neolithic history and prehistoric rock art, represented by Mourya Mane, a several-thousand-year-old Stone Age colony. You can visit the birthplace of Hanuman, the monkey god, or peek at the ancient elephant stable, where the city’s elephants were fed, bathed and trained for battle and other activities.
