Every year many people, with different ages and religious, cultural and political backgrounds, come to Agape to discuss and to be challenged, to get to know themselves and each other and to exchange experiences around a particular theme. The work camp will support the management and support the meetings on issues of political, social, cultural and religious interest. The center is volunteers-driven, and its management is in your hands.

Work

The workcamp is an international experience, giving the volunteers the opportunity to meet young people from all over the world. In terms of communication, the main watchword at the Center is diversity and open-mindedness. This is your chance to discover different cultures, and ideas and exchange experiences. The work accomplished on each camp is very important, the volunteers themselves are the main reason for Agape is able to keep organizing more and more projects every year. Thanks to a group of people living there all year long (the so-called Resident group), but also to the ecumenical and international community coming to help, the center has an effect on its visitors' life. As a volunteer, you will be asked to work with the Resident Group. Every Resident has a sector for which they are responsible (kitchen, cleaning, bar, maintenance,... and so on), in which you will help them, and each of the Residents will be there to help you and support you. You will have 6-7 working hours per day. The Centre will organize every year's national camps in the place and the international group will work in parallel with the permanent residence to guarantee the running of all other project schedules. Volunteers will help in the following tasks: kitchen, meal service (tables and dishes), cleaning, maintenance, bartending, and babysitting.

It’s been ten years that Lunaria and Agape are working side by side to create a space where people can meet in harmony. Agape International Ecumenical Centre is an important point of reference in Italian Protestantism, being for 70 years a place of education and development, theological exploration, political engagement, acceptance and validation of differences. A resident group still lives at Agape throughout the year. Agape was built after the Second World War as a sign of hope and reconciliation between people, thanks to the voluntary work of many young men and women. The dimensions of community and voluntary service remain fundamental. Location

Agape is in the Alps, close to Prali commune. Games, discussions, and outings can be organized during free time. Programmed activities (especially in the evening) are most of the time open to the volunteers, as long as they do not clash with work commitments. The place is beautiful but isolated, though you will stay together with many international participants attending the meetings of Agape.

Accomodation

Volunteers will be host in 3-4 bed bedrooms with shared toilets on the floor. The meals are typical Italian Mediterranean cuisine, with limited consumption of meat for environmental reasons, and the possibility of choices for those who require a special diet. There is a washing machine available for the volunteers.

Requirements

Volunteers should come ready to accomplish each task and with an open mind. Travel to Agape can be complicated, very isolated place .

Work

The aim of the volunteering is most importantly to create and hold meaningful programmes regularly which support the children's development and studies (e.g. supporting Ukraine or English language courses or holding after-school workshop and day-care activities), meanwhile helping with the everyday duties (lunch, cleaning, tidy up the new library, etc.) in the institution. Children come from challenging backgrounds, having either never attended school or only experienced online learning, making it difficult for them to adapt and remain in school. An art and craft, a hip-hop dance afternoon club, sport opportunities are just some of the possible classes that would improve their knowledge and spirit.

Egyesek Youth Association organizes this volunteer program together with the Masoret Avot Nursery and Primary School and the Українська асоціація "Єдність" (UA Unity Association). The main goal of the project since May 2022 is to create an educational and community centre for Ukrainian kids and families in Budapest. The jewish school cooperating closely with the EcoSpace is a safe place now for 250 children aged 6 to 18. They can find support, friends, learn and develop thanks to our devoted team of teachers who themselves had to flee from the war.

Location

Not only will you create unforgettable memories at the camp, but you’ll also have the chance to explore Hungary’s stunning capital in your free time! The evenings and the second weekend will be free, so you can wander the streets of Budapest, admire its historical buildings, immerse yourself in the city’s vibrant cultural life, or even try the famous Hungarian cuisine. As part of an international team, you’ll not only make the children’s summer memorable but your own as well!

Accomodation

The project is co-funded by the European Union through the European Solidarity Corps program. There is no participation fee. All volunteers will be accommodated in shared rooms in Budapest in a dormitory or hostel. Lunch will be provided in the institution (vegan and vegetarian may not available), breakfast and dinner is self-organized, but covered by the project cost. Each volunteer will also receive €7 per day as pocket money. Travel costs to the project location will be reimbursed based on the distance after participation. All necessary equipment for the tasks will be provided.

We warn the volunteers that the consumption of alcohol and smoking is strictly forbidden inside the school. It is an advantage if the volunteers have knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian language. Besides, it is necessary to have basic knowledge about a group's animation (songs, music, dance, plays…) and to be able to assume responsibility within a group. Being able to listen to others is very important there. This kind of workcamp is a very rich personal and human experience. The workcamps in Carignano were started to restore some rooms in a building in the historical center of the town. Through this project volunteers have the opportunity to recover Carignano’s architectural heritage and enjoy the environment whilst meeting young people from all over the world. Moreover “Giovani Insieme” organizes different local events such as summer camps for local children, cultural exhibitions, etc. By joining this workcamp you will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goal: Climate Action-SDG13

Work

Volunteers will work with children from 6 to 13 years old (Italian speaking) in the summer camp of the village from Monday to Friday. We’ll be focused on the historical tradition of carnival in Carignano and we’ll create some carnival costumes for the final show. The local team of volunteers will support the international ones for translation, but, don’t forget to be flexible in this. For an amazing experience of exchange, they could talk about carnival traditions in their countries and also teach the children typical songs or dances. Every week the volunteers will go once to a retirement home to present their countries. There will also be an activity in a protected area cutting bamboo to protect the endemic vegetation and use it for the activities in the summer camp. Some of Carignano's families will host the volunteers for a dinner in their home to share their culture and way of life. The last day there’ll be the opportunity to participate to the “Gay pride parade” in Turin

The camp is organized by Lunaria in collaboration with “Giovani Insieme”. The association is composed of young people for young people founded in October 1998 in Carignano with the aim of protecting, promoting and enhancing artistic, historical and architectural heritage, nature and the environment, by proposing summer work camps for young volunteers from all over Europe.

Location

The town of Carignano (8700 inhabitants) is situated on the left bank of the river Po approximately 20 Km from Torino and within the Regional Parco Fluviale (park of the river). Its center is of typical "piemontese" style, characterized by an ancient core with medieval archways and a baroque cathedral. The town's surroundings offer sites of architectural and naturalistic interest, it is also possible to reach Turin easily, as there are frequent coaches to the city. During the free time there are many exciting things to do such as visit the open market of Carignano and take part in some local events. On the weekends it will be possible for the group to organize a visit to Turin (there is a bus to and from Turin), visiting the Egyptian museum, the cinema museum, MAO museum of oriental art, the Holy Shroud etc. The costs of the FREE TIMES activities are not covered by the project.

Accomodation

Volunteers will be hosted in an ancient building (under restoring) with beds, communal bathrooms with 2 showers and hot water and a kitchen. Bedrooms are provided with 4 to 6 beds per room. The volunteers are responsible for the cleaning and cooking. Food is provided by the host organization. Volunteers must be equipped with a sleeping bag (or sheets), pillowcase and towels.

Requirements

It is important to keep in mind that you'll be working with children, which is different than working with adults, and to be prepared to work on manual tasks, which can be challenging at times.

Work

The main task is harvesting various berries and vegetables such as rhubarb, currants, raspberries, Japanese quince, then helping juice making and products packaging. But there is also weed control and fertilization with mulch in plantations, mowing grass, cutting branches, removal of bushes and wood chipping, assistance in the construction of various small buildings, vegetable beds and other necessary structures on the site, painting as well. And there is ongoing work of planting seeds. Working hours are 5-7 hours a day for 5 days a week. The exact work depends on season and partly on weather conditions.

For many years EstYES has been cooperating with eco-farms around Estonia demonstrating solidarity and respect to their work and supporting local people, who keep agricultural traditions and develop eco-farming in Estonia. Organic farm Kingu is one of them. This is a berry, fruit and vegetable micro-farm in the South Estonia. The main berry crops are raspberries, various currants, gooseberries, Japanese quince, garlic and rhubarb. Everything is grown in an environmentally sustainable way using straw and hay. The farm promotes sustainable lifestyle, and this camp is proposed for volunteers who appreciate and share its values, want to learn more and to help hard working people in country side.NB It is possible to stay for several shifts in a row.

LocationThe farm is located in Kanepi municipality just 11 km from Otepaa and 47 km from Tartu. When coming from Tartu, choose a bus to Voru and get off at the Saverna stop. Buses stop there quite often, travel takes about 40 minutes. Also you can come through Otepaa. Knowing you arrival time and place hosts will pick you up from there. Bus information is on www.tpilet.ee or www.luxexpress.ee. The farm is located in the tiny village of Aiaste. It is important to understand that it is calm and quiet place (there are no events in the village). But with nice weather, it is possible to watch animals like deer on the field, foxes in a strawberry bed and storks. While sitting by the fire at night, enjoy stars in the sky and listen to the nature sounds by animals such as badgers or raccoons.Leisure timeIt is possible to swim, make a fire, play volleyball, disc golf and other games or go for mushroom picking if you like it. There is a swimming lake in Valgjarv 4 km away. You can use various hiking trails. If interested you can visit nearby farms where you can get to know horses, sheep and other animals and see many other interesting things. Accomodation

Farm life conditions are simple but decent. Sleeping is in a separate house in beds. Bed sheets, blankets and pillows are provided, so no need for sleeping bag. There is outdoor kitchen with all necessary equipment. Volunteers can make breakfast and lunch themselves, and dinner will be prepared by and taken with the family. Washing is in the sauna. There is a dry organic toilet. Volunteers have to take care of their surroundings by cleaning up after themselves.

Special requirementsYou have to be open-minded and be ready to adapt to the simple conditions of the rural life being ready to do farm work which can be hard sometimes. Work

Most of the tasks are manual and try to support the inhabitants of the shelter; so be prepared for cleaning, feeding, and especially loving the shelter's animals. Some construction or modification of the infrastructure might be needed. It will depend on the daily needs of the shelter and therefore you might need to support an event, support a presentation or simply participate in a festival. Flexibility and open-mindedness is a MUST. Working hours are from 8.00 am to 12.00 plus 2 hours in the afternoon. Volunteers SHOULD BE READY to work actively and realize that the group dynamics and the necessities of the animals need mature and responsible volunteers. Location

TAARAF is located in a remote area. No tourist resorts close. Temperature is very high (we are very close to the Sahara Desert). Dust is everywhere. Be ready to live a rural experience. Still, we recommend you to stay some days after. Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands, offers many alternative and lesser-known places to visit beyond the typical tourist hotspots. Here are some suggestions like Cofete Beach, Betancuria, Ajuy Caves, El Cotillo, La Oliva and Las Salinas del Carmen as alternative places that can provide a deeper understanding of Fuerteventura’s culture, history, and natural beauty, offering a more enriching experience beyond the usual tourist trail.

Accomodation

Volunteers will sleep at the shelter which is located way out wub-wub in a remote area. The place is a studio that will be shared with other volunteers, not necessarily coming for a work camp. Therefore, there might be some transit with the group. The accommodation has single beds, a bathroom, a kitchen and common areas within the refuge facilities. Volunteers will have the option to stay at the refuge facilities during the volunteer camp participation period. Volunteers work at least 6 hours a day for 5 days a week

Organize activities such as origami, collage work, music, and dance.

When children manipulate a paintbrush, their fine motor skills improve. They experiment with materials and dabble in science. Most importantly, when kids feel good while creating, art helps boost their self-confidence. This unrestricted exploration helps children form brain connections, learn, and have fun. It is a natural activity that supports this free play in children. Art and craft are fundamental to our everyday lives, and encouraging children to learn about them will only benefit them as they grow older. Art is essential because other humans are essential, allowing us to understand each other. This project was developed to improve children's creativity. It aids children in thinking creatively and learning to connect with their imagination. Creativity can make children happier. Children express their emotions through arts and crafts, which makes them feel calmer and happier. Art and crafts projects are excellent for children's development. They allow children to practice their skills, such as coordination (e.g., cutting and shaping), understanding shapes and colors, and exploring their hidden interests and talents. Both ways can bring about positive life-enhancing change for you and the Nepalese people. As a volunteer, you will be given the unique opportunity to teach arts and crafts of your choice and learn the trade through the artistic lens of the Nepalese people. Jitpurphedi community is located in Tarakeshwor Municipality, on the outskirts of Kathmandu District. It is about 10-15 km from the main ring road to Balaju, Kathmandu, surrounded by hills, fields, and woods.

Work

Volunteers are the key person to make the students, teachers and Local community speak using English in daily life. They learn English in the class but only in reading and writing (grammarly) but very lacking in speaking with Each other due to the culture barrier. When there are international volunteers, the environment in the school and community force to use English and they also couple exchange with volunteers. Workplaces There will be 2 schools which are Ban Krogluek School and Ban Maab Grad School. The local host may schedule Monday-Wednesday work in one school and Thursday and Friday work in another school. You will meet different classes each day. So the activities you prepare can be used similarly in both school and each class.

Intercultural and Language (ICL) – Nakhon Ratchasima, learning and sharing the intercultural and language still are the main purpose. Volunteers will share and exchange culture, language, and knowledge with the local community and students in the school. English as the global language and intercultural learning are important for local Thai people to understand and be for global citizens. English is also the gateway to open mind and knowledge. The project was created by VSA Thailand and has been successful for eight years. Former volunteers came to give the opportunity for children in schools and the local community. Many local people improved their English skills through exchanging with international volunteers, or at least they try to speak the English language more and dare to face and work with the foreigner even though they cannot speak English. Moreover, volunteers’ activities impacted the local community. They used to stay lively and trusty with the foreigner. Local people have a chance to learn, accept, and adopt the ways of life with the different cultures. VIN’s Environmental and Conservation Programs raise community awareness of critical environmental issues and develop effective solutions. VIN runs various ecological projects that aim to conserve, promote, and protect the environment and culture while preventing, mitigating, and controlling water, land, and air pollution to enhance the health, safety, and welfare of current and future generations. We utilize permaculture for sustainable farming and have been teaching and implementing it since 2018. We believe that permaculture plays a vital role in restoring the entire ecosystem! Agriculture provides subsistence and employment for 80% of Nepal's population, accounting for approximately 39% of the total GDP. The sector's development is crucial for empowering those who rely on it and for the national economy. Since Nepal is in the Himalayan region, climate change has significantly impacted the country. Water sources are drying up, new types of moths and insects have emerged, and the timing of crop cultivation has shifted. Unexpected climate changes, unpredictable rainfall, droughts, and more are the consequences of global warming that Nepalese farmers are facing.

Work

As a volunteer, you will collaborate with the farmer’s VIN, which specializes in permaculture. The work is typically hands-on, and you’ll design the farm according to permaculture principles, including cultivating crops, weeding, irrigating, gathering materials, digging, and creating beds. Support farmers in making organic fertilizers like compost. Observe, interact, learn and implement.

Work

ProgramCamp program includes team projects, discussions at the round table, social and sport games, performances in the open air, actions for peace and nature protection, meetings with people, visits to museums and sightseeing as well as presentations of the countries that camp participants and volunteers represent, etc. Every day the camp will have a country presentation, a subject to learn or discuss and a related activity. Teenagers will stay in the camp activities zone from 10:00 to 17:00. There will be one day off in the camp and at least one day of travel outside Tallinn. The day off is spent either under the leadership of a member of the school staff or in the host family. Camp activities will take place in the premises of the language school that is situated in the very centre of the city. To activate teenagers and run the program, there will be a group of international volunteers and members of the local school staff. Longer camp shifts include one trip outside Tallinn.

International language camp is organized for teenagers by The Language School In Down-Town and the non-profit educational association Alternative Language Programs Satellite (ALP S) as part of their annual activities on multicultural issues for youth. The project s aim is to introduce the diversity of world cultures to the youth and provide them with good practices in intercultural communication by means of alternative English language practice which includes meetings, visits and direct contacts to young people from abroad. The project gets teens of 14 to 16 years old familiar with national traditions of the countries from all over the world, encourages them to develop their global thinking and individual initiative, tolerance and resistance to xenophobia and ethnic hatred. Camps give foreign participants a great chance to meet youngsters both from Estonia and other countries as well as to experience local life. This summer we offer you to participate in our project called KALEIDOSCOPE . We invite camp participants to discuss ideas of chaos and order, mess and harmony. Together, we will discover our own infinite potential and freedom to create new patterns of life, same way as we create patterns out of random single pieces of colourful glass twisting a kaleidoscope. We will learn how to find harmony in apparent disorder and use chaos as a tool for stress relief, how to turn imperfection into the source of true beauty and embrace uncertainty to make our life journey more successful, unique and vibrant. Camp participants will gain ideas and skills how to deal with a million of combinations of the world s reality.Meetings with local and/or international professionals in the field will take place. Thematic photo and video contests for camp participants will be organized.

AccommodationThere are 2 options possible (subject to availability, which will become clear by the beginning of the camp):1) In the premises of The Language School In Down-Town located on the 4th and 5th floors of a business building in the city centre. In summer time, a part of the school is reserved for the camp participants accommodation that includes several separate dormitory bedrooms, a fitted kitchen, a dining area, a large shower area and two separate toilet cabins. Apart from bedrooms, the tea-room for rest will be also organized where teenagers might watch films, read and play board games enjoying soft sofas. Bed linen, pillows and blankets will be provided, so you do NOT need to bring a sleeping bag unless you want so. For the reasons of security, minimum one school staff member and one volunteer will be staying with camp participants overnights to maintain life, catering and general order on the site. To facilitate a smooth and safe environment at school during the off-hours, the entrance to the school must be kept closed at all times. The access to the school and accommodation areas will be managed by long-term volunteers or school staff. Please be aware that you must be inside by 22:00 the latest unless supervised outside by a school staff member. Participants will have breakfasts and dinners at school, lunches i together with other camp participants.2) In the host families of some of local participants who will join this camp. The apartments of the host families may be located in Tallinn or its suburbs. Participants will stay in a separate or shared room. You do NOT need a sleeping bag. Work

ProgramCamp program includes team projects, discussions at the round table, social and sport games, performances in the open air, actions for peace and nature protection, meetings with people, visits to museums and sightseeing as well as presentations of the countries that camp participants and volunteers represent, etc. Every day the camp will have a country presentation, a subject to learn or discuss and a related activity. Teenagers will stay in the camp activities zone from 10:00 to 17:00. There will be one day off in the camp and at least one day of travel outside Tallinn. The day off is spent either under the leadership of a member of the school staff or in the host family. Camp activities will take place in the premises of the language school that is situated in the very centre of the city. To activate teenagers and run the program, there will be a group of international volunteers and members of the local school staff. Longer camp shifts include one trip outside Tallinn.

International language camp is organized for teenagers by The Language School In Down-Town and the non-profit educational association Alternative Language Programs Satellite (ALP S) as part of their annual activities on multicultural issues for youth. The project s aim is to introduce the diversity of world cultures to the youth and provide them with good practices in intercultural communication by means of alternative English language practice which includes meetings, visits and direct contacts to young people from abroad. The project gets teens of 14 to 16 years old familiar with national traditions of the countries from all over the world, encourages them to develop their global thinking and individual initiative, tolerance and resistance to xenophobia and ethnic hatred. Camps give foreign participants a great chance to meet youngsters both from Estonia and other countries as well as to experience local life. This summer we offer you to participate in our project called KALEIDOSCOPE . We invite camp participants to discuss ideas of chaos and order, mess and harmony. Together, we will discover our own infinite potential and freedom to create new patterns of life, same way as we create patterns out of random single pieces of colourful glass twisting a kaleidoscope. We will learn how to find harmony in apparent disorder and use chaos as a tool for stress relief, how to turn imperfection into the source of true beauty and embrace uncertainty to make our life journey more successful, unique and vibrant. Camp participants will gain ideas and skills how to deal with a million of combinations of the world s reality.Meetings with local and/or international professionals in the field will take place. Thematic photo and video contests for camp participants will be organized.

AccommodationThere are 2 options possible (subject to availability, which will become clear by the beginning of the camp):1) In the premises of The Language School In Down-Town located on the 4th and 5th floors of a business building in the city centre. In summer time, a part of the school is reserved for the camp participants accommodation that includes several separate dormitory bedrooms, a fitted kitchen, a dining area, a large shower area and two separate toilet cabins. Apart from bedrooms, the tea-room for rest will be also organized where teenagers might watch films, read and play board games enjoying soft sofas. Bed linen, pillows and blankets will be provided, so you do NOT need to bring a sleeping bag unless you want so. For the reasons of security, minimum one school staff member and one volunteer will be staying with camp participants overnights to maintain life, catering and general order on the site. To facilitate a smooth and safe environment at school during the off-hours, the entrance to the school must be kept closed at all times. The access to the school and accommodation areas will be managed by long-term volunteers or school staff. Please be aware that you must be inside by 22:00 the latest unless supervised outside by a school staff member. Participants will have breakfasts and dinners at school, lunches i together with other camp participants.2) In the host families of some of local participants who will join this camp. The apartments of the host families may be located in Tallinn or its suburbs. Participants will stay in a separate or shared room. You do NOT need a sleeping bag. Lohra Castle, with its centuries-old architecture and vast natural surroundings, is not only a site of historical significance but also a living, functioning place that requires continuous care and attention. This workcamp offers volunteers the opportunity to actively contribute to the sustainable management of the castle, ensuring that its grounds remain accessible, welcoming, and well preserved. While this workcamp does not involve hands-on heritage conservation interventions, it plays an equally essential role in the long-term care of the site, allowing future visitors and guests to experience and appreciate Lohra Castle as a harmoniously maintained historic and natural space. Beyond the practical tasks, the workcamp offers a unique and immersive experience. When the castle closes its doors to the public in the evenings, it becomes the volunteers' home, a place where they can experience the privilege of inhabiting a medieval site. In this way, they take on the role of stewards, caring for the space as if it were their own. The experience encourages a sense of responsibility, ownership, and connection to heritage, reinforcing the idea that heritage sites thrive not only through large-scale restoration projects but also through the daily care and attention given to them by those who value their existence.

Work

The volunteers will engage in seasonal maintenance tasks, including mowing and collecting overgrown grass, clearing organic material from public areas, and ensuring that the castle’s open spaces remain well-kept. These tasks are crucial for the aesthetic and functional upkeep of the historic ensemble, preserving the visual integrity of the castle and its surroundings. The work also extends to the general maintenance of communal spaces and halls, contributing to the overall experience of visitors who use the castle for cultural events, educational programmes, and retreats. The income generated from these activities is directly reinvested into the castle’s conservation and educational projects, meaning that the work of volunteers directly supports heritage preservation efforts, even if not through conservation itself.

Despite its historical significance, Lohra Castle was abandoned for several decades, leading to neglect and structural deterioration. In the 1990s, the site was rediscovered and revitalised through the efforts of Open Houses, which has since used the castle as a base for heritage conservation, cultural initiatives, and international collaboration. Today, it serves as a centre for hands-on restoration projects organised by Open Houses ́ daughter organisation European Heritage Volunteers, as well as training courses organised by partner educational institutions, and volunteer-driven maintenance efforts such as this workcamp, welcoming participants from across the world to engage with its unique built heritage.

Location

Lohra Castle, located in northern Thuringia, Germany, stands as one of the region’s most representative medieval fortifications located in the vicinity of important trade routes that connected the medieval world of central Europe. Though its present form is modest, the castle continues to command a striking position within the hilly landscape near a natural reserve. With a history spanning over a thousand years, the site reflects multiple layers of architectural evolution, shaped by shifting political, economic, and social contexts over the centuries. The architectural ensemble of Lohra Castle presents a rich assortment of historical styles, with elements dating back to the 11th century. Among its most remarkable features is a Romanesque double-floored chapel from the 12th century, an exceptional structure that highlights early medieval religious architecture. Traces of medieval fortifications and towers, as well as a Renaissance-era manor house, further illustrate the site’s transformation from a medieval defensive stronghold into a more residential and agricultural complex. The projects of Open Houses are based on sustainable principles, ensuring that Lohra Castle is maintained not just as a historical monument but as a living environment where culture and nature coexist. The castle is surrounded by a vast natural protected area, making its preservation an effort that combines aspects of cultural and natural heritage conservation. Through their contributions, volunteers help safeguard the balance between history and nature, keeping Lohra Castle a welcoming place for future generations of visitors, researchers, and heritage enthusiasts.

You'll be helping to restore this site, known as Place Molines. Following numerous consultations with village residents, objectives for the transformation of this place were listed. In 2024, volunteers created trellises to provide shade and seating. This year, a wooden kiosk-type shelter will be built on the square to enhance the facilities of this new square. In this way, you'll be helping to design a friendly, intergenerational leisure area, bringing freshness to the site by creating this shaded space, enhancing the setting: river Tarn, views of the Mont Lozère massif, peace and quiet, and finally making the place welcoming, safe and clean. 25h/week

The workcamp will take place in the commune of Pont-de-Montvert, near Mont-Lozère in the heart of the Cévennes. The aim of the project is to help build a new town square. This square has historically been home to sports facilities, in particular the former tennis courts in the village. However, since their closure, this space has been more or less left to its own devices, serving as a parking lot and occasional storage area. Since 2018, the commune has planted trees and hedges and installed a playground for the village's children. Your mission: to continue beautifying and transforming this square so that it becomes a place for village gatherings and activities.

Location

Far from the French metropolises, Lozère is nonetheless a very dynamic region. The region's activities revolve around local festivities, concerts and unspoilt natural areas (mountains, rivers, forests).

Accomodation

The workcamp will take place in a particularly isolated area, where you will be accommodated in the village gîte. You will have access to sanitary facilities and a communal kitchen. Meals will be provided by the association and prepared in turn by the participants.

Work

Come and take part in the project to protect several natural sites in the Basque Country! The programme includes guided tours with specialists from the Department and the Conservatoire des Espaces Naturels to discover the flora and fauna on site, as well as a range of different tasks: cutting down and removing invasive exotic species on wet moorland, repairing and installing fences in the mountains, creating sunbathing stations for the European pond terrapin (tortoise)... You'll have the opportunity to work on different sites in the middle of nature!

The Basque mountains are characterised by the presence of small wetlands on the slopes, known as peat bogs, in the middle of pastures and moors. There are also other wetlands along the banks of the River Adour, known as barthes. These areas are subject to various pressures, including invasive alien species, pastoralism and tourism. The various sites you will be working on, the Mondarrain and Sare peat bogs and the Mouguerre and Lahonce barthes, are protected natural areas managed by the Pyrénées Atlantiques department and the Conservatoire des espaces naturels. A whole host of actions are necessary throughout the year to preserve these fragile environments, so you'll be taking part in this work and supporting the teams on site. Numerous awareness-raising missions are also carried out throughout the year with schoolchildren and local residents to raise awareness of the remarkable animal and plant species. The workcamp will not only be an opportunity to help preserve these unique places, but also to discover all their secrets thanks to the many specialists who will be on hand to show you around the site.

Location

Don't forget to bring work clothes and shoes that won't get dirty. In the mountains, despite the sunshine, the weather is surprising and can change rapidly. For leisure activities, you'll need to pack clothes suited to the climate (warm fleece or jumper, shorts and hiking trousers, windbreaker, down jacket, warm socks, etc.). For hiking, high-top, notched shoes are recommended. Don't forget sun protection (a hat or cap is essential, sunglasses with a high protection factor because of the intense reflection, sun cream with a high protection factor IP 30-50, etc.) and a swimming costume for swimming or white-water activities. For accommodation, remember to bring a warm sleeping bag and a towel. You should also bring a rucksack (in addition to your luggage), comfortable trainers and a pair of flip-flops. You'll also need to pack these essential accessories: a mobile phone charger, hiking poles (not compulsory, but recommended), a water bottle, a set of bandages and a headlamp or torch. Social events will be organised in collaboration with our leaders and according to your wishes. In particular, we'll be organising themed evenings in each country. If you'd like to share a little of your culture (recipes, traditional stories, unusual objects, music, etc.), don't hesitate to take it with you.

Accomodation

You will be accommodated in individual tents, with sanitary facilities, kitchen and communal living area in the small village of Itxassou at the foot of the mountains. You will share the various collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the leaders, and you will help with the shopping and meal preparation, giving priority to healthy, local produce. Together, you'll help organise community life (cleaning, activities, etc.) and take turns preparing meals using locally sourced produce. Our aim is to encourage vegetarian eating using local, seasonal products, while respecting participants' diets and discovering local cuisine together. No wifi & hand wash for clothes.

The meeting point is at BIARRITZ SNCF station on 11/06 in the late afternoon. Work

You will work for thirteen mornings, six hours each, restoring a new section of the northern façade of the redoubt facing the Atlantic Ocean. Tasks include removing vegetation from the façade and crowning stones, de-jointing, and re-jointing with lime mortar. Additional traditional masonry work, such as repairing stone crowns and stone carving, is also planned. Furthermore, you will participate in workshops on intercultural awareness and sustainable development.

In an idyllic setting with views of Fort Boyard, the project involves the rehabilitation of the redoubt and fostering intercultural exchanges between locals and volunteers as part of peacebuilding effort. Located at the mouth of the Charente River, the Fouras peninsula features three ports and five beaches along the Atlantic coast. The municipality of Fouras-les-Bains and the association Maison des Bateleurs – Solidarités-Jeunesses have renewed their partnership to continue restoring the Redoute de l'Aiguille (known as the largest in France).

Location

You can enjoy a wide range of water-based activities, such as fishing and sailing with the local clubs. The beach, seaside bike rides, beach volleyball and other surprises are all there for you to discover. You can also visit museums and towns such as La Rochelle and Rochefort. The highlights of your stay will be getting to know the locals, who will be eagerly awaiting your arrival, especially at the table for an international meal.

Accomodation

Group accommodation in tents at the Fouras *** campsite (swimming pool, multi-sports area, WIFI, snack bar...). You must bring your own warm duvet and pillow. Bicycles are available for use around town. Food will be provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner (you will have a food budget that the leaders will manage and communicate with you throughout the work camp). Meals will be prepared in turn by you, especially for lunch and dinner, while respecting environmental values and local resources, as well as everyone's culture (hot and cold dishes as well as vegetarian and vegan dishes will be prepared).

As part of the camp, volunteers help maintain the center through tasks like gardening, renovating the house and other projects such as removing old fences to protect wildlife, marking walking paths, and potentially do forestry work like trimming or planting trees.This camp combines learning, sharing, hands-on work and fun. No previous experience is needed. Volunteers should be prepared to share environmental issues from their home countries and be ready to spend time outdoors. Volunteers should be ready to adapt and be flexible with the work and free-time schedule. Depending on the weather, we may not be able to perform some of the activities as planned.

PROJECT: This camp is part of SEEDS ongoing efforts to raise awareness, promote engagement in environmental issues and to support sustainability, organic and permaculture farming, social inclusion, education and hands-on actions in the field. Volunteers will gain insights into local and global challenges through non-formal educational activities such as hands-on work, visits, discussions, and workshops. SEEDS volunteers have the opportunity to participate in different projects in collaboration with Landvernd (the Icelandic Environmental Organization), the EcoVillage at Solheimar, the Icelandic Ministry for Environment and Natural Resources, Umhverfisstofnun (the Icelandic Environmental Agency) and Blai Herinn (the Blue Army).

Location

LOCATION: The accommodation is located an hour drive south-east from Reykjavik. The house serves as an environmental-educational centre and sits under Ingolfsfjall, The Mountain of Ingolfur, with a view of Eyjafjallajokull where the volcanic eruptions began in March and April 2010. The place is registered as natural Icelandic heritage; the nature, vegetation and birdlife is rich in variety and quantity. The volunteers can enjoy outdoor activities in a peaceful and beautiful location with a small stream and a pond nearby. Hiking trails with maps about cultural heritage can be found throughout the area, which is a popular attraction among both foreign and local visitors. The nearest town, Selfoss, only 10 minutes-drive away, with 6500 inhabitants, is a centre of commerce and small industries where you find a geothermal swimming pool, shops, museums, cafes and bars.

ACCOMMODATION: SEEDS volunteers stay in an old farm which has been transformed into an environmental education centre. The facilities are basic with an equipped kitchen, dining and living room, bathroom, shower and a washing machine. Volunteers sleep in shared rooms, with up to 6 people per room. Please bring your own sleeping bag and towel.Volunteers will receive food supplies and will be in charge of cooking and cleaning. Please note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. This camp allows volunteers to learn about global and local environmental issues through non-formal activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits, as well as to contribute directly to environment protection by joining outdoor cleanup tasks. These cleanup tasks may be arranged in partnership with the above mentioned organisations or run solely by SEEDS. We also aim to involve the local community, so some of our events may be open to the public. We hope participants will learn how to plan and carry out their own trash cleaning projects back at home. This project is based on similar activities around the world, where outstanding results have been achieved with volunteers. Volunteers can choose one of the two options below, included as hands-on volunteering activity in the camp:1. A day trip combining a visit to the Hellisheioi geothermal power plant, a trash collection in the area, and the Hot River Hike, a hike up a valley filled with hot springs where one can bathe. 2. A day trip to the Reykjanes Peninsula, combined with a coastal cleanup in the area.Please note that all activities are subject to weather conditions and the availability of our partners.This camp combines learning, sharing, hands-on work and fun. No previous experience is needed. Volunteers should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and be ready to spend time outdoors, walking medium to long distances during the cleanups, and during other activities such as sightseeing. Since a part of the project happens outdoors, volunteers should be ready to adapt and be flexible with the work and free-time schedule. Depending on the weather, we may not be able to perform some of the activities as planned.

PROJECT: Environmental Awareness and Action project is part of a series of camps organised by SEEDS in cooperation with different partners. SEEDS collaborates with the Icelandic Ministry for Environment and Natural Resources, the City of Reykjavik, and several local stakeholders on a project to clean up the Icelandic coastline. Partners include the Blue Army, an organisation dedicated to the cause of coastal cleaning, SORPA, the waste collection and management entity in the capital area, and Whales of Iceland, an exhibit showcasing life-size models of whales and porpoises to educate the public about their lives and the impact of human activity on their existence.

Youth Awareness Month includes Sports and Cultural activities, providing a platform to recognize the role Youth Play in South Africa society This is an exciting project as volunteers have opportunity to work with different communities and interact with children after school. The camp will require volunteers to be involved in different activities such as building up learning activities which will be used when the volunteers will meet the children from 8am to 4pm daily activities. Volunteers will work in groups. The work camp will require volunteers to be involved in various sports and cultural activities and as well creating and using objects which will be used when the volunteers will meet the children from 1pm to 5pm daily activities.

The Weekend is meant to be for free tours that the group can organize by themselves. All our work camps are reserved for cultural nights when each volunteer can present her/his country and culture.

Accomodation

Accommodation will be in a house and venue in Soshanguve. Participants will be required to bring their own sleeping bags. The accommodation has a simple bathroom with shower and water available. The accommodation and work place have flushing toilets and do have electricity but should expect normal power cuts lasting to 2 hours on various time slots in the week. (Not every day)

Requirements

Sleeping bag, sun cream, mosquito spray/lotion, sandals, shoes are advisable. Rain coat, light working clothes during working hours and warm clothes at night, as it may turn out to be chilly; Torch or flash light and arts and cultural items such as drums etc. for the children even sporting equipment such as soccer balls etc. and board games. Qualification of participants: Open minded, ready to interact with other people of different cultural background - Positive attitude - Willing to share his/her experiences - Flexible to live/stay in simple living conditions - Flexible to eat local food - Ready to do academic work on the project and No experience needed at all. Willingness to guide students especially in cultural and arts activities mostly afternoon work from 2 pm till 4 pm mostly. Some weekends may have excursions with students to different areas of Pretoria.

Meeting point

The work camp participation fee is strictly Euro 260 and this covers simple accommodation, food and project expenses office running/administrative expenses, certificate of participation during the camp, communication prior to, during and after the camp. Please note that this does not include travel expenses to and from the camp, pick up from airport so participants are asked to reserve a small amount of money for transport to the camp and vice-verse. We advise all volunteers to ask for advice from us when they are planning to book their ticket to Pretoria.

Work

Help make the summer camp a reality for children aged 10 to 18 by joining an international team of volunteers and accompanying them on a one-week summer camp at Lake Balaton. Throughout the camp, we will organize fun activities, including music, sports, and crafts, which not only support learning but also boost the children's confidence and creativity. In the meantime, we are likely to give them a glimpse of how exciting and culturally diverse the world is, in the hope that some of them will be inspired to travel later on. We are looking for volunteers who enjoy leading such activities—whether it’s crafting, playing music, dancing, sports, or even cooking and introducing their own national dishes. It is essential to create a safe and inspiring environment where children can learn, play, and grow with joy. The program is divided into three stages: onboarding in Budapest, community programs in Ferencváros, and finally, a summer camp at Lake Balaton (approximately 1 week).

Partner

The Ferencvárosi Atlasz Tanoda, operated by the KÖZért Association, aims to support the educational progress of young people aged 10-18, who face social difficulties, are disadvantaged, or are under child protection, often living in the urban segregates of Ferencváros. Their goal is to prevent school dropout. Their programs include school preparation, personality development, improving IT skills, as well as arts and recreational activities. Their aim is to develop the competencies of the young people and provide family and social support.

Not only will you create unforgettable memories at the camp, but you’ll also have the chance to explore Hungary’s stunning capital and the Balaton in your free time! Evenings and the second weekend will be free, giving you the opportunity to wander the streets of Budapest, admire its historic buildings, immerse yourself in the city's vibrant cultural scene, or try the famous Hungarian cuisine. As part of an international team, you won’t just make the children’s summer special—you’ll make your own unforgettable as well!

Accomodation

The project is co-funded by the European Union through the European Solidarity Corps program. There is no participation fee. All volunteers will be accommodated in shared rooms in Budapest in a dormitory at the beginning and end of the project. During the Balaton camp, volunteers will stay in a youth camp together with the children in Balatonlelle for 5-6 days. We provide three meals a day (hot meals for lunch and dinner), with a vegetarian option available. Each volunteer will also receive €7 per day as pocket money. Travel costs to the project location will be reimbursed based on the distance after participation. All necessary equipment for the tasks will be provided.

On June 15th at 6:00 PM, we will meet you at Deák Square, Budapest (city center), at the airport bus stop (100E and 200E buses).

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who are empathetic, patient, and have experience or interest in teaching children and teenagers. Strong communication skills are essential—even nonverbal communication—along with the ability to connect easily with different age groups. Work

ProgramCamp program includes team projects, discussions at the round table, social and sport games, performances in the open air, actions for peace and nature protection, meetings with people, visits to museums and sightseeing as well as presentations of the countries that camp participants and volunteers represent, etc. Every day the camp will have a country presentation, a subject to learn or discuss and a related activity. Teenagers will stay in the camp activities zone from 10:00 to 17:00. There will be one day off in the camp and at least one day of travel outside Tallinn. The day off is spent either under the leadership of a member of the school staff or in the host family. Camp activities will take place in the premises of the language school that is situated in the very centre of the city. To activate teenagers and run the program, there will be a group of international volunteers and members of the local school staff. Longer camp shifts include one trip outside Tallinn.

International language camp is organized for teenagers by The Language School In Down-Town and the non-profit educational association Alternative Language Programs Satellite (ALP S) as part of their annual activities on multicultural issues for youth. The project s aim is to introduce the diversity of world cultures to the youth and provide them with good practices in intercultural communication by means of alternative English language practice which includes meetings, visits and direct contacts to young people from abroad. The project gets teens of 14 to 16 years old familiar with national traditions of the countries from all over the world, encourages them to develop their global thinking and individual initiative, tolerance and resistance to xenophobia and ethnic hatred. Camps give foreign participants a great chance to meet youngsters both from Estonia and other countries as well as to experience local life. This summer we offer you to participate in our project called KALEIDOSCOPE . We invite camp participants to discuss ideas of chaos and order, mess and harmony. Together, we will discover our own infinite potential and freedom to create new patterns of life, same way as we create patterns out of random single pieces of colourful glass twisting a kaleidoscope. We will learn how to find harmony in apparent disorder and use chaos as a tool for stress relief, how to turn imperfection into the source of true beauty and embrace uncertainty to make our life journey more successful, unique and vibrant. Camp participants will gain ideas and skills how to deal with a million of combinations of the world s reality.Meetings with local and/or international professionals in the field will take place. Thematic photo and video contests for camp participants will be organized.

Accomodation

AccommodationThere are 2 options possible (subject to availability, which will become clear by the beginning of the camp):1) In the premises of The Language School In Down-Town located on the 4th and 5th floors of a business building in the city centre. In summer time, a part of the school is reserved for the camp participants accommodation that includes several separate dormitory bedrooms, a fitted kitchen, a dining area, a large shower area and two separate toilet cabins. Apart from bedrooms, the tea-room for rest will be also organized where teenagers might watch films, read and play board games enjoying soft sofas. Bed linen, pillows and blankets will be provided, so you do NOT need to bring a sleeping bag unless you want so. For the reasons of security, minimum one school staff member and one volunteer will be staying with camp participants overnights to maintain life, catering and general order on the site. To facilitate a smooth and safe environment at school during the off-hours, the entrance to the school must be kept closed at all times. The access to the school and accommodation areas will be managed by long-term volunteers or school staff. Please be aware that you must be inside by 22:00 the latest unless supervised outside by a school staff member. Participants will have breakfasts and dinners at school, lunches i together with other camp participants.2) In the host families of some of local participants who will join this camp. The apartments of the host families may be located in Tallinn or its suburbs. Participants will stay in a separate or shared room. You do NOT need a sleeping bag. Participants will have breakfasts and dinners in their host families, lunches i together with other camp participants in the city. Travel cards will be provided, pick up service at arrival is provided upon request.Please note: it is not possible to stay at any of the camp accommodation options before or after the camp arrival and departure days. If you need a place to stay before or after the camp dates, we can help you to book a hostel in Tallinn.

Requirements

Special requirementsWe will welcome any ideas to improve the program and your active participation in it. English is the camp language. The age of international camp participants is 14 i 16. Please be aware that during the day program of the camp the participants will be asked to leave their cell phones at their accommodation site to ensure safety of the participants and their engagement with the camp activities. To assure a safe environment for all the campers, we expect all our camp participants will provide their parents letter of consent (Parental Authorization) and travel insurance certificate.Participation feeUnlike the traditional voluntary camp, there will be mostly informal educational activities and guided language practice. Camp program implementation involves costs for boarding and lodging, domestic transport, materials, excursions, visits, cultural activities and general administration. Since neither EstYES, nor its partner ALPS receive any financial support for this camp from state or municipality, to make the camp happen we have to charge a participation fee from 350 to 600 Euro depending on the duration of the camp shift. This is a separate fee that is different from your country sending organization s fee you pay at home. It has to be paid by participants upon arrival to the camp or by bank transfer prior to the start of the camp. If you prefer fee to be paid in cash on arrival please contact us.

Work

Help promote the Côte d'Azur stone heritage ! This year, the commune of Sospel invites you to make an active contribution to the restoration of the Château de l'Agaisen site, located on lands that host stays for minors, people with disabilities and soft tourism activities. You'll have the opportunity to take part in the restoration of the site's restanques, but also in the development of an olive grove and the preservation of a unique hydraulic heritage, with its catchment basins and irrigation canals. Your mission: Contribute to the creation of a floating staircase linking the two levels of the site. You'll build stone steps to facilitate movement and improve access to this historic area. You'll also be helping to build a retaining wall some 20 m long and 1.60 m high. Initially, you'll be in charge of clearing and demarcating the construction area, using the picks and shovels provided. You will then sort the stones before starting to build the low wall. By joining this project, you'll be supporting the Loisir Côte d'Azur association in its aim to make the site accessible to the young people they're targeting. Loisirs Séjours Côte d'Azur (LSCA) is an association that has been working since 1982 to provide children, young people and people with learning disabilities the leisure activities they need for their personal development. The LSCA association welcomes three international workcamps for young volunteers to carry out these actions in 2025.

Location

Sospel is a French commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department and located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (06) region. The “Château de l'Agaisen” site is located a few kilometers from the village of Sospel. The grounds are mainly devoted to accommodations for minors and the disabled, and to soft tourism activities such as hiking and heritage discovery. Around the castle, you will find many terraces and olive trees.

Accomodation

The “Loisirs Séjour Côte d'Azur Sospel” association will take care of your accommodation ! You'll be staying in the outdoor area of the site, with access to toilets, showers and a large communal kitchen. Meals will be prepared collectively, and you'll be able to enjoy them in an outdoor facility. You’ll cook in pairs or trios, providing a learning opportunity with a strong intercultural dimension ! A recipe book will be provided to support responsible purchasing and sustainable eating. You will be accompanied by three animators. A budget will be allocated to the leaders, and you'll participate in grocery-shopping and the preparation of meals, giving priority to healthy, local and vegetarian products.

Requirements

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

The meeting point is at Gare de Sospel on 15/06/25. You can reach the station from Nice by taking the bus 15. The nearest international airport is Nice Côte D'azur: 19 Rue Costes et Bellonte, 06200 Nice.

Notes:

Remember to bring gloves, clothes and shoes for work, as well as a swimsuit for the bravest! Don't forget to bring sun protection (hat, sunglasses, etc.). Nights can be chilly, so bring a warm comforter. You can also take along recipes from your country/region, musical instruments and games. The last day is for departure, usually in the morning.
