Abbiamo la possibilità di far partecipare 2 volontari/e in 2 diversi progetti di volontariato internazionale di breve termine, attraverso il Servizio Volontario Europeo (EVS) di breve periodo. Grazie al programma europeo Erasmus+, i volontari avranno garantito assicurazione, vitto e alloggio, e un rimborso delle spese di viaggio fino a 275 euro.

Project: For several years, the Compagnons Batisseurs France has been involved in the Village of Youth of Mettray and has always received a very warm welcome. The Village of Youth of Mettray used to be a penal colony for youth, La Paternelle, created in the 19th century. Today, it has found a new meaning; several decades ago, it was opened again and turned into an educative center for professional inclusion and medical support for youth. It hosts around an hundred of young people all year long, facing many sorts of difficulties. This beautiful place is classified as Historical Monument. The idea is to mix the international volunteers group with the young people of the Insitute at some moments of the day in order to reduce their marginalization, to encourage them to meet people from abroad and develop exchanges with people from different backgrounds, and to integrate them in a collective project of tolerance and citizenship!
Works : This summer, you will restore some stone walls around the place according to traditional masonry. Some of the work may be done on scaffolds.
Activities : A team of leaders will be with you along the workcamp to invite you to discover the region and its inhabitants. And the group will organise itself to cook, to maintain the place clean and to decide about their collective activities.
Location: The small town of Mettray (about 2140 inhabitants) is located arond 10km north west from Tours (Centre region), in the departement of Indre et Loire. SJ31 WELLS AND POND: THE WATER OF MONTLIEU dall’11 luglio al primo agosto
Project: Montlieu la Garde is a small village located in the wooded Saintonge which regularly hosts international projects. Convinced by your presence and dynamism, Montlieu-La-Garde wants to organize a new international workcamp, a key moment for the encounter and intercultural exchange. Eager to live this experience again, inhabitants and the municipality are waiting for you! In a previous project, the village began beautification work of the town hall square. Indeed, a part of this place had remained without maintenance while it hides a rich heritage that is just waiting to be brought back into the spotlight!
Work: You will continue the work undertaken around the development of part of the town hall square. You will take part to the restoration of a pond, two wells and a wall as well as in the improvement of the stairs. You will have the opportunity to work with stone, undertake works of traditional limestone masonry as well as carry out small painting and landscaping tasks. A municipal technical employee will coordinate the work time and assist you on the planned work.
Leisure activities: Montlieu la Garde is situated in between two large cities: Bordeaux and Angoulême, and not far from St Emilion and Cognac, landmarks for French wine-making tradition. Famous for its museum that you could discover, the House of the Forest works to discover the local heritage by organizing excursions, exhibitions and entertainment. Between the swimming pool, visits to discover the region and walks along the Voie Verte, you will share many memorable encounters with the local population. Outside working times, you will also take part to summer events: the french national day, the traditional medieval festival and also visits of local food producers, tasting their specialties.
