Volunteers will assist in the renovation and painting of school classrooms, drawing symbols and letters that will simplify reading and learning for early childhood education classes, establishing garbage disposal sites including trash bins in the classes, and providing education on how to separate and dispose of garbage. They will also organize extracurricular activities for kids and teenagers (7-17 years old) after school hours. This could include sports, games, English language lessons, arts, crafts, and remedial classes.
Some studies have proved that children spend more time in school than at home during the week. In this regard, the physical environment of school buildings and school grounds is therefore a key factor in the overall health and safety of pupils, teachers, non-teaching staff, and visitors. School buildings and grounds are expected to be designed and maintained to be free of health and safety hazards and to promote learning. A friendly environment for children will increase their performance, hence contributing to their future. This project is therefore complementing the efforts of the host community in improving learning facilities to support children's future. The host of this project is Mbahe/Ng’aroni Primary Schools in Marangu.
The word "Marangu" means a place with many water streams. It is one of the most popular places in Tanzania. Located at the foot of Africa's tallest mountain, the quaint village of Marangu offers fascinating insight into both modern Tanzanian life and the lives of the Chagga people, who once withstood vicious Masai raids through the ingenious use of tunnels. The majority of residents are farmers growing bananas, vegetables, and coffee. Tourism is also an important part of the economy of Marangu. Marangu is located about 40 km east of Moshi town, the capital of Kilimanjaro, and is accessible through private and public transport. Social services including markets, shops, banks, and hospitals are available in the community. Options for leisure activities include wildlife safaris to Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, and Tarangire National Parks. Various packages are available depending on the available time and budget, including Mount Kilimanjaro trekking, eco-tourism, and cultural tourism.
Accommodation will be at the community residential house. Volunteers should expect to share rooms. Volunteers are expected to help in meal preparation, dishwashing, and kitchen cleaning. Vegetarian meals will be available.
This project is looking for volunteers who have an interest in working with children, doing manual work, and focusing on child development issues. Volunteers should be patient, committed, open-minded, ready to be challenged, interested in other cultures and local realities, creative, and adaptable to different situations. They must also provide proof of having no criminal record against children.
The nearest bus/Ferry terminal is Moshi town Central Bus station located in the capital of Kilimanjaro region.

You'll be working on a timber frame for a hiking shelter, located in the immediate proximity of the Abbey of Clausonne. A local carpenter will guide you in assembling the supporting structure, making the joints, and building the floor. Each day, two members of the group will rotate in preparing meals for the team; the menu will be defined in advance. You'll work on-site during the mornings from Monday to Friday. Generally speaking, the work involves carpentry, preparing tools and meals, as well as organizing and setting up community life.
A small valley in the heart of a sublime alpine landscape, the remains of the 12th-century abbey of Clausonne, and a 300 km hiking trail that crosses the site. All this invites you to discover this rural area and its history! Here, for the past 30 years, a local association has been involved in preserving and promoting the site, as well as contributing to the life of Clausonne and writing its present-day history. Last summer, work began on the construction of a hiker's shelter on the site. As this is a stage on an itinerary of ancient transhumance routes, you'll be contributing to welcoming cyclists and hikers for years to come. This project is just one of the many initiatives in which international and local volunteers, the people on work integration programs, and other professionals have participated over the years. You'll be staying at the Ferme du Faï, an old mountain farmhouse that's kept alive by a team of employees working on the renovation of the buildings, artists and musicians in artistic residences, hikers passing through, and the curious. Roll up your sleeves and join us on-site and in our collective living space!
The site is located just below the summit of Aujour Mountain, so the view may inspire you to discover the pleasure of the hike in your spare time. Indeed, this spot in the wilderness is ideal for enjoying mountain walking and wandering. You'll have the chance to discover the area in the company of a group of international volunteers, which will enrich your experience. Here, you'll be the protagonist of your stay: you'll organize together your free time with the support of our staff.
You'll be accommodated in individual tents in the outdoor areas of the municipal gymnasium in the small town of Le Serres, with access to the building's sanitary facilities and kitchen. Here, we take care with our food to reduce our environmental impact: we eat local as much as possible and reduce our meat consumption to twice a week. Daily life is organized collectively: menus (vegetarian, vegan diets, etc.), shopping, activities, and so on.
Shuttle to Ferme du Faï from Veynes-Dévoluy station. See you on June 4, 2025 from 3 pm.

The project focuses on empowering youth and volunteers to improve the quality of youth work and education. It aims to develop employment paths for young people, improve the non-formal education sector, and enhance youth and NGO participation in community development.
Shining Star ECDC and Orphans School was founded in 1999 to provide education in an area affected by high illiteracy, unemployment, and the HIV/AIDS pandemic. It has since grown, receiving support from international volunteers and organizations. The school now has over 360 children, 11 teachers, and 5 support staff, offering education from Kindergarten to Standard Eight.
The local economy relies heavily on fishing in Lake Victoria, but easy access to cash has contributed to school dropouts, early marriages, and increased HIV/AIDS prevalence. The project seeks to empower the community through education and alternative development opportunities. KVDA also organizes educational tours to sites like Maasai Mara Game Reserve at separate fees. Volunteers can contact KVDA for more details.
Volunteers will stay in a homestead with basic living conditions. Volunteers will cook their own meals using foodstuffs provided by KVDA. Their program is primarily aimed at children who struggle to fit into the education system and come from disadvantaged backgrounds. Their goal is not only to support the children in their studies but also to develop their social skills, helping them achieve long-term success in the job market. The center is open five days a week, providing development opportunities for 30 disadvantaged or special educational needs (SEN) children and youth aged 7 to 16.
Pilisvörösvár is a town in the Budapest metropolitan area, located 18 kilometers northwest of the capital. It is home to one of the largest German minority communities in Hungary. Participants will have time to put the theory about photography into practice, exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant will be selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods, and laptops, if possible. While learning about photography, the participants have the opportunity to explore Icelandic culture through active participation: capturing it, engaging with it, and showcasing their work throughout the camp. One of our goals is to empower young people to use photography to highlight environmental and cultural subjects and issues.Participants should be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances during activities and working within a flexible schedule. Participants will be photographing in their free time outside of workshop hours with images to be discussed at group feedback sessions. This camp is open to participants aged 16 to 20. During their stay, SEEDS organises a programme that combines learning, sharing, getting to know Iceland and its culture, and having fun while exploring the city and some of the most stunning natural attractions in the Golden Circle and Reykjanes Peninsula excursions. Note that this is a learning/sharing camp and not a regular workcamp; this project has a smaller volunteer work part and emphasises the personal learning process over the community impact. We may be able to organise some outdoor voluntary work, but it depends on our partners and the weather conditions.
This is the eighteenth year (since 2008) that SEEDS has organised a series of International Photography projects and we began organising these camps for teenagers in the year 2010. Throughout the year, participants from all over the world come to Iceland for an immersive photography-focused learning camp. SEEDS coordinators help participants to develop their unique photographic skills through workshops and feedback sessions on technical settings, compositional considerations, and creating conceptual frameworks that highlight each participant s individual style.
