Vir'Volt stands for InteRnational VolunTeer Village (in French). For 3 years, the organisation has been based in the heart of nature, in the middle of a regional park. By welcoming young people from all over the world each year, the future village is being built around a number of different objectives: getting to know each other and learning from our differences, reflecting and acting together to protect the environment, but also having a positive impact on the surrounding area and people by putting solidarity at the heart of each of our actions. Vir'Volt also aims to become fully eco friendly and sustainable which is reflected in our campsite ; yurts and teepees as rooms, permaculture farming and gardening, water saving projects, reducing and reusing waste. This small village will become great without sacrificing or damaging the surrounding environment whilst always searching better and more eco friendly ways of living.
La Ferté-Alais (91590) is approximately 50km south of Paris. Leisure activities: You will have the chance to enjoy the association's campsite and to discover the cultural and natural heritage of the region which is part of a natural park. You will also help organise some activities in order to meet and socialize with local young people. Other leisure activities will be organised collectively depending on the wishes of the group and the available budget. On day in Paris is scheduled.
You will sleep in collective Yurts, non-mixed on the campsite of the association. Please bring a sleeping bag with you. The campsite has separate bathrooms and showers, as well as a kitchen place. Food will be provided and cooked by the volunteers in turns.

You'll be helping to refurbish the village's old sports field. You'll be helping to design a friendly, intergenerational leisure area, bringing freshness by planting the site, enhancing the setting : river Tarn, views of the Mont Lozère massif, peace and quiet, and finally making the place welcoming, safe and clean. Several activities are planned for this project. The details of your project will be decided before your arrival, thanks to a final consultation with the local residents. 25h/week.
The workcamp will take place in the commune of Pont-de-Montvert, near Mont-Lozère in the heart of the Cévennes. The aim of the project is to help build a new town square. This square has historically been home to sports facilities, in particular the former tennis courts in the village. However, since the closure of the tennis courts, this space has been more or less left to its own devices, serving as a parking lot and occasional storage area. Since 2018, the commune has planted trees, hedges and installed a playground for the village's children. Your mission : to continue beautifying and transforming this square so that it becomes a place for village gatherings and activities.
The project will take place in the rural commune of Pont-de-Montvert (department 48). The nearest town is Mende, with 16,000 inhabitants. Leisure : Far from the French metropolises, Lozère is nonetheless a very dynamic region. The region's activities revolve around local festivities, concerts and unspoilt natural areas (mountains, rivers, forests).
The workcamp will take place in a particularly isolated area, where you will be accommodated in the village gîte or campsite. You'll have access to sanitary facilities and a communal kitchen. If weather conditions deteriorate too much for camping, you'll have access to a shelter. Meals will be provided by the association and prepared in turn by the participants.
You should arrive at Génolhac train station (30450) on Monday 1st July between 4 and 6 p.m.

After more than a decade of successful workcamps with our association, from 2006 to 2022, both for the participants and for the commune, the latter wishes to welcome for the 17th time an international volunteer workcamp to participate in the restoration of the Fort des Dunes , a military fort built in the 19th century. The objective of the commune was both to enhance the value of this site so that it could be visited and used for cultural purposes by associations and music groups and to bring an intercultural dynamic by creating links between the inhabitants, visitors and volunteers. Over the years, important improvements have been made to open this site, which is full of history, to the public. Outside, with a secure tour route (interpretation of the site with the help of an audioguide), and inside, where rooms have been restored and opened to visitors, including a room dedicated to the history of the fort (interactive presentation, animated model of Operation Dynamo).
The city of Leffrinckoucke is located a few kilometers from the city of Dunkirk. The military fort is located 500 meters from the beach and 500 meters from the city of Dunkirk. Nature lovers can go for a walk on the Dune Dewulf. This remarkable nature reserve of the Nord-Pas-De-Calais coastline extends over nearly 300 hectares. It is a mixture of wooded dunes, wet pannes and dry dunes and thus has an important ecological value. There are buses to the neighboring towns. The nearest train station is in Dunkerque. Many connections exist and several TGV links to LILLE (35min) or PARIS (2h00) are proposed.
You will be accommodated in a tent and have access to a kitchen and sanitary facilities . You will participate in the preparation of meals and in daily tasks (washing up, cleaning, tidying up). In an effort to rearrange the spaces around its town hall, Orry-la-Ville is organizing in partnership with Concordia a project involving international youth volunteers. This year, Concordia is teaming up with France Bénévolat and l'Arche de la Nature to create an international work camp in Le Mans. Located ten minutes from the town centre of Le Mans, the Arche de la Nature estate offers to visitors a vast natural area showcasing the main landscapes of the Sarthe region. Along the paths, visitors can admire the river, the forest and the grove, and can visit the “Maison de l'Eau”, the “Maison de la Forêt” and the “Maison de la Prairie”. Sports fields and children's playgrounds will satisfy young and old alike. In all, 500 hectares of nature are permanently open to the public, including La Mare aux Poissons Rouges. La Mare aux Poissons Rouges is an artificial pond that hosted a religious procession from the early 20th century until the Second World War. The procession group came from the church in Yvré-l'Évêque and passed through the Château de l'Arche estate. Today, the pond has been cleaned up and is the home to a number of protected amphibians, including the marbled newt. The aim of this project is to protect the pond by building a dry-stone wall. You'll be accompanied by a team of expert guides throughout the project to help you learn these techniques step by step!
We already carried out a work camp with France Bénévolat about ten years ago. As for Arche de la Nature, we've been working with them for years on various civic services and event organisation projects. Today, we're expanding our partnership by organising a workcamp in their nature areas. The Arche de la Nature estate, managed by the Le Mans Métropole urban community, offers visitors a vast natural area of almost 500 hectares. Every year, more than 500,000 visitors enjoy this park, which is permanently open to the public free of charge. L'Arche is the green lung of the Le Mans urban area. Various events (festivals, courses and outings) have been organised since 1997.
Le Mans is located in the West of France. It is the administrative centre of the Sarthe County, in the Pays de La Loire region (50 min from Paris, and 1h30 from Nantes by train). You will have time to discover the city. Le Mans is a beautiful artistic and historical city, it is the third one of the Pays de la Loire region when it comes to culture and tourism. The old city centre is surrounded by Roman walls and the most recent renovation works organised to preserve the oldest parts of Le Mans have helped to enhance its local heritage. Two rivers cross the city which has been named one of France's greenest cities. You can find various parks and gardens, in addition to the two big forests bordering the city. For more information about the city: www.lemans.fr
You'll be staying at the Yvré Leveques municipal campsite, just a few kilometres from the site and Le Mans, in individual tents (bring your own sleeping bag or warm duvet, and a mat or mattress). The kitchen and living area, as well as showers and toilets, will be close by. You'll be able to take advantage of the campsite's various facilities, including the swimming pool (remember to bring your bathing suit!). Travel between the living area and the work site will be by bike (distance of around 5 kilometres, between 15 and 20 minutes), so you'll need to know how to ride a bike. Volunteers can share their internet connection (no WIFI) and laundry will be done by hand. You'll share the various collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the animation team, and you'll help with shopping and meal preparation. You can exchange recipes if you wish.
Please bring gardening gloves, good shoes for working purposes as well as work clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. As the nights can be quite cold, remember to also bring warm clothes.
