The Vercors Regional Nature Park stretches across a vast mid-mountain massif between Isère and Drôme. Come and discover it, and the village of Autrans-Méaudre en Vercors. Its landscapes will take you on a journey. The project will involve restoring a shelter known as "La Bergerie", located on the edge of a footpath and a mountain bike trail. The exact history of this site deserves to be known, as it would appear that in the past this vast area was grazed by sheep. Meadows replaced the present-day forest and there was indeed a sheepfold here, but we're investigating with local residents to find out more.Your job will be to clear the undergrowth around the shelter and consolidate it by working on the masonry. No previous knowledge is necessary. A good dose of motivation and the desire to work as part of a team will enable you to complete this project.
The PNR Vercors has been a partner of Concordia for many years. Each year, this long-standing relationship enables Concordia to introduce the volunteers who join us to a part of the Vercors, a natural territory offering a variety of landscapes marked by history and rich in cultural identity. For the Regional Nature Park, the workcamps are a fantastic opportunity to involve volunteers in its work to preserve natural areas in collaboration with the local communities. In 2024, he will be working with the village of Autrans-Méaudre en Vercors, which is very interested in proposing an intercultural and intergenerational project: young people from the village will come and help on the site for one or two days. In 2025, the elders of the local association Cabane 44 will be in charge of building the roof of the shelter after the volunteer workcamp. They will also visit the site to meet you and create links. The park's main missions are to preserve and enhance the natural environment, and to support the sustainable development of its territory in the fields of agriculture, tourism, culture, energy, mobility, town planning, etc.
Autrans-Méaudre en Vercors is a destination renowned for the quality of its environment, the extraordinary wealth of its flora and fauna and the wide range of activities on offer. It is located in the Vercors Regional Nature Park, 15 km from Villard-de-Lans (the main town in the North Vercors Massif) and around 40 km from Grenoble. One of the main activities for enjoying the beauty of the landscape is hiking. A Park eco-guard will be on hand to guide you during your free time. Depending on the programme agreed with the entertainment team, you can take advantage of the nearby swimming pool and outdoor activities such as mountain biking, caving, zip-lining, orienteering, beach volleyball, etc.
You will be accommodated in a chalet equipped with beds: remember to bring sleeping bags. The site is a 20-minute drive from the accommodation. You will then have to walk for 10 minutes on an accessible path, but with some gradients. The group will be supervised at all times by a team in charge of group life and technical aspects, in liaison with our local partners, in particular the eco-guards from the PNR Vercors. Together, you will help to organise group life (housework, activities, etc.) and take turns preparing meals using locally sourced produce. We will use local produce and short distribution channels as much as possible, and will ensure that all participants' diets are respected.
Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for them personally, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.
Meet at the Meaudre Place bus station in the late afternoon. The bus station is accessible by bus from Grenoble SNCF station. A suggested itinerary will be presented in a detailed info sheet. Train reservations can be made approximately 4 months before departure on the SNCF website, link below: https://www.sncf-connect.com/
Remember to take closed clothes and shoes for the work, which are resistant to dirt. You'll be sleeping in individual beds: remember to take a sleeping bag as well as a fitted sheet and pillowcase. You should also bring waterproof clothing for your walks. Nights can be chilly at altitude, so pack some warm clothes. Don't forget sun protection (hats, glasses, cream, etc.), a water bottle and your swimming costume for swimming (pools, water sports centres, etc.). If you'd like to share a little of your culture (recipes, traditional stories, unusual objects, etc.), don't hesitate to pack a little piece of your country or region in your backpack and a small Bluetooth speaker to share your favourite playlist! On the last day (12/07), the departure time is usually set in the morning.

Grenzenlos is an Austrian NGO based in Vienna. It is independent of religions and political bodies. Grenzenlos is a non-profit association. Its main purpose is to promote world peace and respect between people through intercultural non-formal education programmes abroad which combine cultural integration with engagement at non-profit initiatives worldwide. The German word „Grenzenlos” means “no boundaries” and also “no limits”. The word explains the basic mission of Grenzenlos: to promote the personal development of individuals (no limits!) and inter-cultural understanding through international encounters, trainings, intercultural living and work experience (no boundaries!). Grenzenlos offers a variety of international mobility programmes. These programmes are dedicated to world peace through the promotion of inter-cultural exchanges. Traditionally, Grenzenlos organizes volunteering programmes (individual as well as in the frame of international camps). As an exchange organization, we send volunteers abroad and host volunteers in Austria The Inclusion approach is a high priority for Grenzenlos: special attention is given to promoting the participation of people with disabilities in all our volunteering projects as well as trainings and educational programmes.

Volunteers will share and exchange culture, language, and knowledge with the local community and students in the school. English as the global language and intercultural learning are important for local Thai people to understand and be for global citizens. English is also the gateway to open mind and knowledge. The project was created by VSA Thailand and has been successful for eight years. Former volunteers came to give the opportunity for children in schools and the local community. Many local people improved their English skills through exchanging with international volunteers, or at least they try to speak the English language more and dare to face and work with the foreigner even though they cannot speak English. Moreover, volunteers’ activities impacted the local community. They used to stay lively and trusty with the foreigner. Local people have a chance to learn, accept, and adopt the ways of life with the different cultures. Together, we would like to build barrier-free dry toilets and outdoor showers for children and youth groups on our campsite. You will be sawing, drilling, screwing and hammering under expert guidance with professional tools and machines. At the same time, we redesign the outdoor area around the tree house, plant native shrubs, extend the deadwood hedge and do typical gardening work on the site. Volunteers are also invited to take part in the Sunday café. Do you have a passion for baking cakes or enjoy being behind the counter? Then we look forward to your contribution to experiencing this day together. During your stay, there will also be other groups at the youth centre with whom you can sit around the campfire in the evening and chat. We are currently trying to organise an inclusive project together with young people with disabilities. This means that one or even a small group of young people with physical disabilities will accompany the group during the day. Unfortunately, the final number has not yet been finalised as we are still looking for a cooperation partner. Study part: Inhabitants of Jugendhof would like to show you their life style and would like to discuss certain aspects of a life which is mostly self-determined, self-organized and community based. We plan to offer some games for the group as experience how we offer adventure education for kids. Additional info will be provided.
“Jugendhof Bessunger Forst e.V.” is a non-profit children's and youth meeting place and one of the oldest self-managed NGOs in Germany. Located in the forest on the outskirts of the city of Darmstadt, we maintain the tradition of a learning and recreational place close to nature and life with down-to-earth, resource-saving accommodation. For over forty years, groups of children, youth and adults, families, clubs or political initiatives have come together here and found plenty of space to learn, run around, play, relax, meet, develop or simply be outside and together. On Sundays in spring and summer, we open the ForstLove Café with a colorful musical program. Excursionists, city walkers and fresh air fans can relax here in the green idyll on the large grounds. Our offer is especially aimed at families and people with low incomes, as the appreciation of heterogeneity and diversity is very important to us. You can find Jugendhof in Internet: https://jugendhof.org.
The Jugendhof is located at the edge of the Bessunger Forest, which can be easily explored from here. On hot summer days the shady forest offers a good opportunity to cool down and wide open meadows invite you to a relaxed picnic. You can enjoy meetings in a wooden yurt, which was build from an international workcamp as well. If you walk for an hour through the forest and meadows, you can reach a beautiful swimming lake with a small sandy beach. Darmstadt is also very interesting culturally, as it was one of the centres of European Art Nouveau at the beginning of the 20th century. Since 2021, the “Mathildenhöhe artists colony” of the city of Darmstadt is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We would like to recommend a visit to the impressive and unique area, including the museum and the Orthodox chapel. Region: The Jugendhof Bessunger Forst e.V. is located at the edge of the forest between the city of Darmstadt and the village of Roßdorf. The suburban area marks the transition from the Rhine-Main region to the low mountain range Odenwald and is located 30 kilometers south of Frankfurt am Main and 50 kilometers north of the picturesque city of Heidelberg.
Volunteers live in our centrally located self-catering house "Sharewood Lodge". In addition to a spacious kitchen and two bathrooms, there are three bedrooms in the house, each with five beds. In general, the facilities allow a day-long outdoor life.
After registration, we require a self-declaration in terms of legal protection for children and vulnerable persons. You will need working clothes, rainwear and, if necessary, swimming gear as well as sturdy closed shoes. Since it can get very cold in the forest at night, even in summer, please bring warm clothes and don't forget your sunscreen. Bed linen will be provided by the house. Please bring your own towels.

This camp allows volunteers to learn about global and local environmental issues through non-formal educational activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits, as well as to contribute directly to environmental protection by joining outdoor coastal cleanup tasks in the shores and beaches. Additional work will be undertaken in the area of our accommodation such as removing old fences dangerous to wildlife and visitors, as well as helping with renovation and maintenance of the house. We may also be marking some walking paths and, depending on the advance of the mentioned tasks, volunteers might do some forestry tasks in a small forest planted in the area, like trimming the vegetation or planting some trees. This camp combines learning, sharing, hands-on work and fun. No previous experience is needed. The place is registered as natural Icelandic heritage; the nature, vegetation and birdlife is rich in variety and quantity. The volunteers can enjoy outdoor activities in a peaceful and beautiful location with a small stream and a pond nearby. Hiking trails with maps about cultural heritage can be found spread around the area, which is a popular attraction among foreign and local visitors. The rectory garden was full of woody plants, dry trees and things that time has brought and is surrounded by ruins of buildings without much historical value. The long-term goal is to restore the garden and instead build an open, living community garden that will be used year-round by the local community as a space for relaxation, community meetings and cultural events, especially with environmental content. Volunteers will help with the landscaping of the garden, construction of a fire pit, establishment of garden elements, removal of woody plants in the area of the future sports field, and sorting of construction materials. In case of heavy rain, volunteers will clean the unused part of the rectory. Most of the work will be outside and manual, so bring suitable clothes and shoes appropriate for work, long sleeves and pants are recommended.
The workcamp is organized in cooperation with the Local Action Group (LAG) Podlipansko in the small village of Dobrichov. You will need to bring a sleeping bag and a pillow. You can also bring an inflatable mat for better comfort. Lunch will be provided by a local partner. Volunteers will be responsible for preparing their breakfasts and dinners from provided ingredients. Bring your favourite recipes and any special ingredients you might need for that. Vegetarian and vegan diets can be accommodated.

This camp is divided into two parts: Part 1, Study and knowledge of the legends and tales of the city of Huesca during the Middle Ages and Renaissance. We will make this work by visiting archives, museums, historical buildings in which the events took place. Part 2, Creation, design and implementation of dramatized street theatre plays. Volunteers will write scripts, design props, choose costumes... Everyone will have a role in the play. The play will be held in Spanish, but don’t worry if you don’t know a word, it is no necessary. We will rehearse the show to be presented to the audience. Partici-pants will be accompanied by History and Drama experts during the whole process.
Since 2015 we have verified in "Huesca is Legend" that the combination of volun-teering, performing arts and intangible heritage is an unbeatable starting point for wor-king with young people on concepts such as solidarity, cooperation and integration. After the years that have passed since then, we continue to be unique, an activity diffe-rent from those generally carried out in the Aragonese territory. Its main characteristics make it an exceptional field, since it tries to recover intangible heritage and disseminate it to enhance its value. And all this through the performing arts. Without a doubt a diffe-rent project. ITHEC has been working on youth, free time and performing arts issues for more than twenty years. In all this time we have held workshops for young people, theater and dance festivals. But among all these activities that we have carried out with young peo-ple, the camps that took place between 1995 and 2011 in Albarracín (Teatro en Alba-rracín, IAJ) and the Youth Initiative “La Campana de Huesca” financed by the Youth in Action program in the years stand out. 2012 and 2013. These activities have shown us that the performing arts can be part of young people's leisure, but also their training, in addition to promoting their personal development and even their employability.
Huesca is a small city of 50,000 inhabitants. It is located in the north of Spain, at the foot of the first foothills of the Pyrenees mountain range. A city with more than 2,000 years of history. Iberians, Romans, Muslims, Jews have walked its streets. Its pedestrian center, its medieval monuments, its university spirit, its effervescent cul-tural life and the safety of its streets make it a perfect place to carry out activities with young people. Huesca is also the nerve center of a privileged province: in less than an hour we can find landscapes as different as the desert areas of Los Monegros or the snow-capped peaks of the Pyrenees.
Accommodation will be held in shared rooms with beds at the Students Residence “Santo Domingo” in Huesca which is in the central district. The residence has common areas and dining room with TV. The residence also offers free WiFi access. Participants may help in the general cleaning of common areas. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be normally served at the residence. The meals are home made by the residence cook. If you have any allergy or food intolerance, please let us know to warn the cook in advance. Some days if we are in a journey or if we have a very tight schedule, we can have a “package lunch” with sand-wich and some fruit. It is possible to request a vegetarian diet in advance
It will be enough to bring comfortable clothing to carry out regular activities (tracksuits, shorts, tights, t-shirts can work), a swimsuit, and sneakers for walking. Health card and Identity Document. For the residence you must bring sheets or a sleeping bag and a towel, the blankets are provided by the accommodation.

You'll be helping to refurbish the village's old sports field. You'll be helping to design a friendly, intergenerational leisure area, bringing freshness by planting the site, enhancing the setting : river Tarn, views of the Mont Lozère massif, peace and quiet, and finally making the place welcoming, safe and clean. Several activities are planned for this project. The details of your project will be decided before your arrival, thanks to a final consultation with the local residents. 25h/week.
The workcamp will take place in the commune of Pont-de-Montvert, near Mont-Lozère in the heart of the Cévennes. The aim of the project is to help build a new town square. This square has historically been home to sports facilities, in particular the former tennis courts in the village. However, since the closure of the tennis courts, this space has been more or less left to its own devices, serving as a parking lot and occasional storage area. Since 2018, the commune has planted trees, hedges and installed a playground for the village's children. Your mission : to continue beautifying and transforming this square so that it becomes a place for village gatherings and activities.
The project will take place in the rural commune of Pont-de-Montvert (department 48). The nearest town is Mende, with 16,000 inhabitants. Leisure : Far from the French metropolises, Lozère is nonetheless a very dynamic region. The region's activities revolve around local festivities, concerts and unspoilt natural areas (mountains, rivers, forests).
The workcamp will take place in a particularly isolated area, where you will be accommodated in the village gîte or campsite. You'll have access to sanitary facilities and a communal kitchen. If weather conditions deteriorate too much for camping, you'll have access to a shelter. Meals will be provided by the association and prepared in turn by the participants.
You should arrive at Génolhac train station (30450) on Monday 1st July between 4 and 6 p.m.
