1. Support harvesting and shipping Sudachi citrus at its season 2. Support harvesting and shipping Shikimi (Japanese star anise) 3. Help making brochures or signs for pilgrims from overseas throughout the village. 4. Cleaning up vacant houses, etc.
This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with the local group since 2019. This village has been welcoming ohenro (pilgrims) who visit 88 temples in Shikoku since long time ago. The pilgrims walk through this village before visiting Kakurin-ji temple; the 20th temple out of 88 temples of the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage. However, there are problems which should be solved such as aging and depopulation of the community these days, and locals haven't been able to find solutions for those problems. On the other hand, since more and more people from overseas visit for the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage locals are trying to find new ways for omotenashi (hospitality). Volunteers who have been working on the project have come up with ideas for the reuse of vacant and abandoned land. Local host Oi have finally decided that they can freely renovate and modify the vacant houses. Moreover, the site is in a good location, with mountains, a river and fields. It is up to the volunteers from now on to decide how to develop the project. The aim is for the volunteer members to clean up the abandoned houses and village landscape and transform it into a village that people will want to visit to take photos, as it used to be a village where people came and went since ancient times.

Much more needs to be done for climate protection and against species extinction! Does it is taking too long for something to change in these areas? If you could do what you you wanted, then... you've come to the right place! In our forest district, with almost 18,000 hectares of state forest, we not only take care of the harvesting, but also numerous nature conservation projects. These projects are a lot of work, of course. That's why we can use a lot of hard-working and motivated hands. The work will take place outside in the fresh air. You will with simple tools such as small handsaws, loppers, hoes, scythes, rakes and pitchforks and pitchforks to help the biotopes retain their special character that is worth protecting. For example, small spruce trees have to be removed so that special plants can special plants can continue to grow in the areas, which in turn provide a habitat for many rare animal species. During the two-week camp, our foresters and forest managers will be at your side and will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the forest and nature conservation. We are definitely you and your commitment! The work of the ijgd is based, among other things, on the working principle of antidiscrimination/antiracism. Unfortunately, however, racism is present in many areas in Germany. Racism is a problem all over Germany and there are areas where right-wing extremist parties and groups are particularly active and therefore racist statements and hostilities are more likely. In the Vogtland, where this workcamp takes place, this is unfortunately the case. This refers to the area in general and not to the specific project. We see it as part of our responsibility to inform you about this. Last year, the workcamp group was occasionally confronted with racist or right-wing extremist hostilities in their free time. We have examined the security situation on site in detail, have taken advice and have come to the conclusion that we would like to continue the workcamp and that there is no acute danger. Nevertheless, we believe that the dignity of every human being is inviolable and that it makes sense to stand up for it at all times. We believe that we can counterbalance right-wing extremist attitudes and practices with our work and we believe that anti-racist and antidiscriminatory ways of thinking will be the majority in the end. We will support you in the best way possible, have built up local networks and are training our group leaders accordingly. You can also reach out to our anti-discrimination officer at https://www.ijgd.de/ueber-uns/antidiskriminierung. No matter which way the wind blows, we are here to support you in living out your interests and exploring new spaces of experience. With that in mind, come in and find out! We look forward to seeing you! If you have any questions or uncertainties, please feel free to contact us.
The ijgd has been organising volunteer service programmes since 1949. We are an independent, non-profit association for international youth work, a recognised independent youth welfare organisation, and one of the largest and oldest work camp organisations in Germany. Each year, we assist around 5,000 young people into volunteer work in Germany and abroad. We give them the opportunity to be creative, act in solidarity, take responsibility for themselves, and discover their own true potential and strengths. Our principles: Ecological learning, voluntary contribution, self-organisation, social development, intercultural learning, gender equality, anti-racism/anti-discrimination and political education. Near our camp there are a lot of things that you can do. At Mühlleithen there is a summer toboggan run waiting for you. At Bike-world at Schöneck you can speed down the hill. If you haven`t seen of the forest during your work, you can visit the outdoor climbing park. Of course you can also go hiking and enjoy the beautiful nature around you. Even though it will probably be difficult to find the right track since there are just too many options. At Schöneck`s IFA-holiday park you can find a public outdoor swimming pool, a sauna, a steam bath and other wellness treatments. So don`t forget to bring a towel and a swim suit. If you are interested, you can pay a visit to the river dams at Muldenberg, Werda, Pöhl und Pirk or go to the zoo at Klingenthal or Falkenstein. You are drawn to outer space? Go visit the German space exhibition at Morgenröthe- Rautenkranz. Are you interested in music? Don`t hesitate checking out the exhibition on musical instruments at Markneukirchen. Do you want to know what`s below the surface of beautiful Vogtland? Then go visit the former mine „Grube Tannenberg“ at Tannenbergsthal/Schneckenstein with its amazing exhibition on minerals. Close by you can also go and have a look at the ski jumping facility of the Vogtland-Arena at Klingenthal. Of course you can always just hang out at DAV Vogtlandhütte where you all sleep and have a great time at the cosy fire place. Feeling the warmth of a night time fire and enjoying the beautiful quiet nature surrounding you, you will realise the importance of the work you have done during the day. And if your group`s cooking skills aren`t as good as hoped or you are looking for something ready to eat, there is always the local kebab store at Schöneck that has something yummy ready for you in 5 minutes ;) Camp location: Schöneck, State Forestry Department Sachsenforst, forest district Adorf

Come and volunteer in a summer village for different (age) groups! Over 2 weeks of various activities await you while you assist in a summer camp for children, teenagers and young families near Cologne! The summer village does start on the 7th of July and several weeks of program for children and teenagers have already happened when your camp starts. Your project starts with the arrival of a children group aged 7 to 12 on the 29th and a week full of activities with and for the young participants. Your job will be to help with different types of workshops, where the children can try out different types of sport, creative activities, do arts and crafting or simply chill or play games. In the second week the participants are children and young people with or without mental disabilities. The young people might be older (up to 18), but the developmental age is up to 12. For this week the team is also supported by professionals from an NGO working with people with disabilities and integration assistants. In the last days your job will be helping with the dismantling of the infrastructure, which gets stored away until the next year. Aside from helping with the program, there will also be “backstage” tasks, such as going grocery shopping or cleaning. Another responsibility is the night duty: Since the participants are under-age, someone always needs to stay awake. Don’t worry, you won’t need to stay up the whole night and you won’t need to do it alone. It can easily turn into a nice long campfire-evening with friends. It is very important to the local team that you feel and become part of one big group of teamers.
Woanders e.V. is a non-profit organization which wants to reach people of all ages, support cross-generational interaction and contact between people from different areas of life. Their work intends to reduce fear of contact and support tolerance and curiosity for other people, by strengthening the team-spirit “We”. Each summer for over a month, they organize a camping village full of activities for different age groups. This workcamp starts with a week of camping for children (07-12 years old), which is followed by a week for children and young people with or without mental disabilities. (Before this workcamp the program started with a week of kids-program for children, followed by a week for teenagers and then a week for families. If you want to stay for the whole duration, you can apply also for the first workcamp IBG 07 which starts on the 6th of July) You can find the camp village schedule here: www.woanders.org/zeltstadt/ Participants usually stay there for a full week, most of them will stay overnight in tents and have their meals there as well. It is a project aimed mostly towards children and teens with fewer opportunities but it is open to people from all backgrounds. Priority is given to participants from nearby communities. Since 2020 we successfully support this project with small groups of international volunteers and the local team is looking forward to meet new international friends. By volunteering in this project, you are contributing to a sustainable and inclusive community (UN SDG 11).
The camp village is situated on a meadow surrounded by trees a bit outside of the town of Bergheim. In Bergheim, you can find different shops and cafés, and Bergheim itself is only 20km away from Cologne. On your days off you can therefore visit Cologne, which is the fourth most populous city of Germany, famous for its cathedral and the Roman-Germanic museum. You can also go on trips to other nearby towns, for example to Bonn.
You will sleep in big group tents on the camp village site. Camp mats will be provided, but please bring your own sleeping bag! There are showers and sanitary facilities available, but the accommodation itself is quite basic. There will be no need for cooking since you will be eating together with the local team and the participants, so everything will be provided, but of course it is expected that you may help with cleaning and so on. You can get a glimpse of the project area on the homepage of the association, where you can find pictures from the previous years: https://www.woanders.org/fotos/
We ask for a motivation letter to be sent with the application! Previous experience in working with children and/or people with disabilities will be very helpful. Since the project involves children, you need to provide a certificate of good conduct before the start of the project. This project is a Volunteering Team within the European Solidarity Corps program. Volunteers have to have legal residency in an EU country, there is a strict age limit of 18 to 30 years. The participation to the ESC Volunteering Teams is subject to several principles and conditions, presented on the ESC webpage: https://europa.eu/youth/solidarity/mission_en volunteers do not have to pay any fee (not sending, nor participation fee) to attend the project and will receive a financial support for their travel, according to a maximum amount established in accordance with their travel distance and upon the presentation of original tickets; volunteers need to enroll in the PASS, the ESC Portal; then IBG will organise their matching, on the online system, with the volunteering project; volunteers will receive pocket money, calculated on basis of 6€/day, once they arrive on the project; volunteers will have to complete a participation report, submitted online through the portal.
You have to arrive in Paffendorf train station. Please check for connections from anywhere to Paffendorf www.bahn.com/en from there it is only a 15 minute walk to the camp village. There will be someone waiting to accompany you.

This work camp is for nature lovers, since the work will be mainly outdoors. There is a lot of work around the natural reserve “Upahl-Lenzen”. Since it’s not possible to use common agricultural techniques, volunteers have to do everything manually. More over every meadow around has to be cut and the grass have to be put aside. The aim of this project is to help to protect this unique reserve through your contribution. This project will be done in cooperation with environmental agency of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. We also start a new project of "creating a international herb garden".
This project is organized by NiG e.V., a german non-profit and non-government organization. In this project we work together with the local agency for agriculture and environment.
Lohmen is a village in the middle of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and is surrounded by the nature reserve Upahl-Lenzen. It has about 850 inhabitants but also many possibilities for outdoor activities like a labyrinth, sports grounds and an archeological nature trail. There is a lake in walking distance where you can swim and also much nature to enjoy in general. Leisure time activities: Excursions (swimming, short trips) can be planned.
Volunteers will stay at the building of a former kindergarten. Food (also vegetarian/ vegan) is included, but meals have to be prepared by the volunteers. (we like to do international cooking days, so every nation cooks one typical/traditional meal for everyone) On the last weekend, we arrrange a trip to Rostock (next biggest city, directly at the sea) and stay in our office accomodation. There we have the opportunity, to either go the beach or into clubs and stuff like this :)
Please bring a sleeping bag, working clothes (gloves), a mattress pad (and good motivation :D). BE CAREFUL! There are two different villages in Germany called "Lohmen". The workcamp will be in that Lohmen between Guestrow and Goldberg in the region Mecklenburg Western Pomerania.

TACHES A FAIRE POUR LES VOLONTAIRES : Montrer aux apprenants : De maîtriser les concepts de base de l’informatique et de l’ordinateur ; De connaître et se familiariser avec l’environnement informatique (matériels et logiciels) ; De connaître les notions de bases des systèmes d’information et d’être sensibiliser aux aspects de sécurité de ces systèmes ; De connaître les fondements de l’Internet, d’en connaître les notions de base et d’être en mesure de l’utiliser dans le cadre de ses recherches documentaires ou autres ; et l’utilisation responsable des réseaux sociaux ; Mettre en place un planning de diffusion des films documentaires suivi des débats avec les apprenants ;

With this project we aim to do our bit to reverse climate change and preserve biodiversity of our surrounding through education and actions. Overtime we have assisted in planting more than 10,000 trees in last 5 years. Along with plantation we also educate local community about carbon emission and environmentally sustainable actions which we could apply. The project relates to SDG-13 (Climate Action) and SDG-15 (Life on Land).
Depending on the weather, volunteers would plant new trees, take care of already planted ones, remove dead saplings, chop firewood, do soil working, composting, clearing weeds and bushes, preparing holes for future plantation and make polythene green house fully operational. Since environmental education and protection is the focus of the camp they will be expected to create awareness on issues like global warming, climate change, Carbon emission, sustainable lifestyle etc. while visiting local communities. Besides tree plantation, volunteers will be given an exposure of other humanitarian projects, meeting with women groups, physical activity in RUCHI campus and work in communities or slums.
Rural Centre for Human Interests (RUCHI) is a community development organization with ever increasing focus on youth development and intercultural learning through voluntary service. Like setup, this involves a lot of manual labour and hard work but is a time when the team really comes together as we work to leave the field as we found it at the beginning of the summer. We make sure that all structures are cleaned, dried and packed away. You’ll have the chance to see the behind the scenes of outdoor living and event infrastructure and take part in plenty of problem solving and logistics tasks. While the work can be quite physical, we find that because we are not hosting events anymore, we have more time for team activities such as fancy banquet dinners, dress-up parties or relaxing campfire evenings. If it is something you want to have a go at, then takedown may be the phase for you! Please note that as we take structures down the facilities on the field will become more minimal (toilets and showers will be available till the end).
Green & Away is a registered educational charity, who organise, build and run a unique, tented sustainable venue – a temporary outdoor eco-village, situated on the banks of the River Teme, in lush Countryside overlooked by the Malvern Hulls in the West of England. Every summer since 1990, many volunteers from all different walks of life and all over the world have come together to create a beautiful space for events, connection to the outdoors, community and learning – and we are very excited to welcome you! You will be supported and encouraged to be involved in whatever you feel most comfortable doing, and the host always supports and appreciates new ideas and feedback – Green & Away is a place to share and learn new skills. The host warmly welcomes and encourages individuals of all backgrounds, ethnicities, races, genders, abilities, ages, religions, and orientations to join the Green & Away project. This is an ongoing project with several starting dates. In your application, make sure to add which date you would like to start your 2 weeks project. You can apply for several 2-week periods in the same application.
The site is situated close to a small village which has some small activities going on, the site is roughly 5-6 miles from Worcester with a direct bus. Volunteers can travel quite freely to a big city. More immediately the site is located to a café with walking trails and a river for swimming bordering the site. The nearest hospital is 9 miles away. You will get 2 days off of volunteering, days off are not the same each week, but rest will be assured to all volunteers. The work at Green & Away is what brings us together, but there is also plenty of time for evening activities, revelling in music and laughter in our bar, swimming, playing games and enjoying an evening round the campfire. There is also opportunity for day trips to visit the local area, cultural visits or special days out like canoeing on your days off. You are also invited to engage with our Education Wednesdays, where we spend an afternoon together learning from one another in a variety of ways through talks, workshops and discussions. If you have a skill or knowledge on a topic you would like to share with the group let us know!
The host is an outdoor venue and campsite so all accommodation is tented – this is for all volunteers as well as guests will be in tents. Green & Away will provide you with a space in a tent with a camp bed, sleeping bag, pillow and blanket – IT IS STILL COLD AT NIGHT DURING UK SUMMERTIME, PLEASE ENSURE YOU BRING ENOUGH WARM CLOTHES. All food is provided (3 meals a day, regular tea breaks, with cake!). Meals are vegetarian/vegan, organic, fresh and local when possible. IF you do have any specific dietary requirements, please let the host know in advance. The site has an outdoor biomass-powered, wood cladded shower cubicles, composting toilets, drinking water taps, clothes washing facilities and a washing line. The host provides eco-friendly toiletries. All safety and volunteering equipment is provided by Green and Away.
The host will reach out to you to establish levels of English, you will receive an email if successful. A conversational level of B2 is necessary to understand safety instructions.
A travel guide will be sent to the volunteer nearer the time
For Green and Away it is really important the volunteer understands what we are about (environmental charity, not a music festival! etc.) and the circumstances of the facilities (outdoor showers, camping). Green & Away need volunteers to have a good level of English (B2) which is integral to the safety of themselves and everyone they are working with. A pre-approval interview over the phone will be organised with the host after applications.

The ‘’Children and Youth Centre’‘ of Weil der Stadt organizes a summer-camp for kids every year. Each summer, about 95 Children participate to this project. They may join for one or two weeks. This initiative will give every kid the chance to have a fun vacation time while at the same time, supporting working parents during the first part of school summer break, which lasts for 6 weeks in total. International volunteers have been supporting the summer activities and the local communities for threes year already (UN SDG 11 sustainable communities).
Weil der Stadt is a town with almost 20.000 inhabitans. It has a very nice historical centre and is located at the outskirts of the Black Forest – perfect for hiking, if you are up to it! Also public transportation is good, so you can easily reach the regional capital Stuttgart, as well as Karlsruhe or Pforzheim. The team in Weil der Stadt can support you in organizing weekend trips or activities.
You will stay directly in the ‘’Children and Youth Centre’’ in Weil der Stadt. In the building, there is a big room where you will sleep. Camp beds are provided but please, bring your own sleeping! Inside the building you will find sanitary facilities and a kitchen. During the week, you will eat your lunch with children and don’t need to cook. At night and during weekends, you will take turn for cooking, wash the dishes and cleaning. Your group will be responsible to doing the groceries, which will be covered by the camp budget.
It is not necessary to speak German in order to to participate, however it is a big help for sure! The children usually don’t speak English but some of the kids have a international background so you might be able to communicate with some of them in your mother tongue. NOTE: Please attach a Motivation Letter with your application! We would like to know your motivation to work with children, if you have any experience in this field, and if you speak (a bit of) German. In addition, since you will be working with children, you will be required to provide a certificate of good conduct before the start of the camp.

Town hall of Crémenes
Crémenes is a Spanish municipality and town in the province of León, in the autonomous region of Castilla y León. It has a population of 530 inhabitants (INE 2023). The largest portion of the township belongs to the Picos de Europa Regional Park, where the largest number of Vadinian tombstones have been found (eleven in total). Some authors believe that Vadinia, an important Celtic city frequently mentioned by historians and geographers during the Cantabrian-Roman wars, may have been located here. La Corona, a hilltop next to the village, indicates a possible settlement of Roman origin. The village has several hiking trails leading to neighbouring municipalities of great scenic value. Also of note is the Sabinar de Crémenes, one of the most westerly in Europe. Other mountain activities such as canoeing, cycling, hunting and fishing are also available in the area. In recent years, some special spots have been set up for observing and photographing wild animals. Crémenes is a destination that promises total immersion in the culture, history and nature of the mountains of León. Located in a privileged setting, this municipality offers a perfect combination of heritage, breathtaking landscapes and traditions that have endured for centuries. If you are looking for an escape from routine and direct contact with nature and history, Crémenes is undoubtedly the ideal place.

You are invited to show your individual creativity and talents; you should be ready to work together in international teams. Supported by a carpenter and a metalworker, you can create fancy furniture for the visitors, colorful decoration for the stage, or help by expanding the BMX trail and designing a luminous advertising. In addition, the support of the kitchen team is quite important. It would be great if the group could contribute something special for the Fokus Festival. For further information, please visit https://www.rabryka.eu/de/Fokus-Festival.html
"RABRYKA" is a unique space for youth culture and social life, situated in an abandoned factory ground. You can see it as an open space for all kinds of youth and social culture. Currently it offers a wide range of possibilities for kids, youths and adults: Repair shops, DIY and creative workshops, a youth center and urban gardening. There is enough inside and outdoor space for gatherings and sports, sharing things and opinions, playing music and partying together and … much more! At the same time, RABRYKA is a part of an initiative, which highly motivates people to develop the civil society of Goerlitz. Everyone is invited to join meetings that focus on the vision of a society, which respects the values of tolerance, equality and cross-cultural empathy. RABRYKA is a fictional word connecting the Polish word for factory fabryka and the first letter of red. Red are the bricks of the buildings of the former factory.
Goerlitz is situated at the very east of Germany. After WWII, it was divided and the area in the east of the river Neisse is now the autonomous town Zgorzelec and part of Poland. Volunteers will get a guided tour through Goerlitz and will learn about its eventful history. Moreover, you will learn about the current network of initiatives in the city, which offers a wide range of cultural and social work. In addition, there will be free time for a cycling tour to a lake nearby, bonfire evenings and a party.
Volunteers will stay near the youth and cultural center. There is a single room for the group for sleeping, there are bathrooms, a shower and a kitchen. Volunteers will need a sleeping bag. It is planned that volunteers will prepare breakfast and dinner on their own. Lunch will be offered at RABRYKA and will be vegan.

Dreaming of lavender fields and Provence? Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux offers you a picture-postcard landscape and the chance to get involved in a project that will plunge you into the history of the town's famous quarries... What do Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux, Paris, Lyon, Marseille and New York have in common? It's hard to believe that many of the buildings in these major cities still stand on foundations that originated in this small town in the Drôme region. In the 19th century, the quarrying of stone from the south of France was in full swing. The site had specific infrastructures for extracting and transporting blocks of stone, especially to the Rhône. Mining ceased after the Second World War and the site reverted to its natural state as the years went by. Today, the remains of this activity are still present, and there is a determination to preserve them, in order to pass on their unique history. Thanks to their rich biodiversity, the former quarries could become a sensitive natural area in the near future. Respecting the site, you will be working to complete an inclined surface on a path that has been damaged by rainwater run-off. On a sloping, wooded and rocky site, you will be creating gutters to allow the water to drain away. This work is a continuation of the projects carried out in 2022 and 2023. If you love nature, history and travelling, this is the job for you! You don't need any skills, but a good dose of motivation and a good mood will make this project unforgettable.
The town of Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux is attached to its history and heritage. It is a tourist town in the Drôme Provençale region that is also keen to protect the environment. By hosting this third volunteer work camp, Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux aims to reveal the cultural richness of its region by combining heritage and nature.
The town of Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux (population 9,000) is located in the Drôme department, in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region, on the axis of the Rhône Valley, in an area with a Mediterranean climate. Drôme provençale is a tourist region with many assets. As well as plenty of sunshine, you'll find an unspoilt environment and a warm, friendly atmosphere as you wander through the narrow streets of the mediaeval town. Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux is the ideal place to discover the Tricastin, Drôme Provençale and northern Vaucluse. The city itself boasts an important cultural heritage with its cathedral, townhouses and archaeological collections. What's more, in and around the town, gastronomy takes pride of place with the Tricastin black truffle. On the other hand, don't look for the three castles that gave their name to the town, based on a fanciful interpretation of the term tricastin. However, the town does have a rich history, which is now at the heart of our worksite project. You'll have the chance to discover its secrets through guided tours and workshops. There's also a rich cultural programme during the summer, with concerts, presentations of crafts and arts disciplines, etc. As for leisure activities, you'll be able to use the town's many facilities and organise excursions to discover the wider area (Gorges de l'Ardèche, Montélimar, Grotte Chauvet, etc.).
You will be accommodated in individual tents near the 2003 municipal stadium, which is close to sports facilities (football stadium, city stadium, skate park, watersports complex, etc.) and close to the town centre. The site will be for the sole use of the group, who will have keys to control access. The changing rooms will provide separate areas for toilets and showers. A room will be equipped for meals and be used as a shelter in the event of bad weather (heatwave, storms). There will also be grassy, shaded areas where you can enjoy the outdoors. Together, you'll help to organise community life (cleaning, activities, etc.) and take it in turns to prepare meals using locally sourced produce. As far as possible, we will promote vegetarian meals using local, seasonal produce, while ensuring that all participants' diets are respected and that local gastronomy is discovered.
Arrival late afternoon at Pierrelatte SNCF station, accessible from Marseille-Saint-Charles and Lyon-Part-Dieu stations. Train reservations can be made approximately 4 months before departure on the SNCF website, link below: https://www.sncf-connect.com/
Remember to bring gloves and suitable clothing for the job. You'll be working on a steep site, so it's essential to wear hiking boots with raised, notched uppers, reinforced if possible to prevent the risk of injury. For leisure activities as well as on site, you need to bring clothing that is suited to the climate (temperatures can be very hot in summer). Don't forget sun protection (a hat or cap is essential, sunglasses and sunscreen with a high protection factor, etc.) and a swimming costume (no swimming shorts for men) for swimming at the water sports complex or whitewater activities. For sleeping, remember to take a duvet and a pillowcase (you can put things in it and easily make a pillow). You should also bring a backpack (in addition to your luggage), comfortable trainers and a pair of flip-flops. You'll also need to pack the following essential accessories: a mobile phone charger, a water bottle, a set of bandages and a headlamp or torch. Social events will be organised in collaboration with our leaders and according to your wishes. If you'd like to share a little of your culture (recipes, traditional stories, unusual objects, music, etc.), don't hesitate to take a little piece of your country/region in your backpack, as well as a small Bluetooth speaker! On the last day (14/08), the departure time is usually set in the morning.

Re:nember them! In this workcamp you can get involved in the preservation of the former Nazi women's concentration camp Ravensbrück. Study part: Join us for the first week to get to know the Ravensbrück Memorial and its history. We will deal intensively and artistically with biographies of imprisoned women and survivors who were imprisoned in the Ravensbrück concentration camp and afterwards in the subcamp Waldbaulager, which is part of the Ravensbrück concentration camp. Also there will be an audio workshop based on the impressions of the sight. Work part: Various maintenance works in the exterior of the memorial and the collections.
The former women's concentration camp Ravensbrück was built in 1939 near the small town of Fürstenberg/Havel. Until its liberation in April 1945, over 120,000 women and children, 20,000 men and 1,000 underage young women from the so-called "Uckermark Youth Protection Camp" were imprisoned there. The prisoners came from more than 40 nations. They had to perform forced labor in various sectors, e.g. for SS factories or the Siemens company. Their daily lives were marked by hunger, mistreatment and poor hygienic conditions. Tens of thousands of prisoners were killed. Today, the Ravensbrück Memorial preserves traces and records, promotes remembering and research, and creates a place for active learning and encounters. Every year, international work camps are organized in cooperation with the memorial. www.ravensbrueck-sbg.de

You will also participate in making the hiking trail nicer and more attractive so that everybody can enjoy going for a walk there. You will scratch and paint the railings and gates of the city hall over and you will fix urban furniture in the forest so that everybody can fully benefit from the nature around.
Champagne-sur-Seine is a new partner. This town of 6,179 inhabitants is very dynamic and puts its residents’ well-being first and this is why they care about implementing nice walking trails.
If it is important to you to remain close to nature while living close to a big city, then it is what you need! Champagne-sur-Seine is located 75 km in the South of Paris and right next to Fontainebleau: you will easily be able to go to the French capital while enjoying the jewels of nature around. Between river and forest, the town is right on the Seine’s edge and is dominated by forest massifs. You will be able to observe the birds at the pound nearby, and if you like to walk you will appreciate the many hiking trails across the region, including this particular one called “Water, fire, stone”.
You'll stay in the municipal gymnasium, divided into single-sex dormitories with sanitary facilities and wifi access. Group living will take place in the Palais des spectacles. You'll have access to a kitchen equipped with a microwave. You'll share the various collective tasks and prepare meals together. A 15-minute walk will take you to two mini-markets and laundry facilities. A budget will be allocated to the coordinators, and you'll help with shopping and meal preparation, giving priority to healthy, local produce.
The meeting point is set at Champagne-sur-Seine’s city hall around 8 PM. The exact meeting time will be communicated at the latest when you receive the roadmap, one month prior to the beginning of the workcamp. Several local trains (“TER” or “RER”) leave from Paris to Fontainebleau-Avon. From there a bus will take to Champagne-sur-Seine. You will be able to book trains directly in regional train stations.
Please bring work-adjusted clothes and hiking shoes. Nights can be cold so bring warm clothes as well as a warm sleeping bag. You may also bring cooking recipes from your country/region, music instruments and games. On the last day (15/08), the departure time is usually set in the morning.

The main aim of this project will be to redefine the outdoor circulation areas of the association's site. You'll need to clear some of the overgrown vegetation around the existing steps. You'll create wooden and stone staircases around the central part of the colony. Your group will decide on the number of paths that cross this area, to transform this wasteland into a venue for various events. You'll then put up low stone walls and demarcate the spaces. Particular attention will be paid to preserving the young tree shoots around the steps. You will work 20h/week.
The workcamp will take place at the REV's permanent home, a former vacation camp at an altitude of 1,200m. The site is located at the foot of Mont-Lozère in the heart of the Cévennes. The REV took over the site in the spring of 2022 and hopes to make it a place of welcome, exchange and encounter. This project will be part of the transformation of the colony into a socio-cultural living space.
The project will take place in the southern part of Mont-Lozère, in a rural area (department 48). Shaped by erosion, this territory is criss-crossed by several watercourses, geological formations such as the causses and numerous forests of many species. A wide variety of flora and fauna have been preserved here thanks to the low human density of recent centuries. The nearest town is Mende, with 16,000 inhabitants. Leisure activities : Far from the French metropolises, Lozère is nonetheless a very dynamic region. The region's activities revolve around local festivities, concerts and unspoilt natural areas (mountains, rivers, forests).
The workcamp will take place in a particularly isolated area, where you will be accommodated on the REV site in individual tents (remember to bring your sleeping bag). You will have access to sanitary facilities close to the camp. What's more, if weather conditions deteriorate too much for camping, a shelter a few meters away will be available. Meals will be provided and prepared in turn by participants.
Please arrive on 01/08 between 4pm and 6pm at the Génolhac station (30450). If you arrive the day before, you'll need to arrange your own accommodation.
