The work will be carried out at the archeological site of the Iberian settlement of Castellar (La Llacuna). In addition to the technical tasks, there will be training activities in the municipal premises for a study center and exhibition hall on the historical and archeological heritage of La Llacuna, created by La LlacunaRecupera and the company Anoia Patrimoni. The technical work will be the delimitation of the work and access areas, to facilitate the technical tasks and the movement and security of the visitors. Thanks to the work of previous years, the access road and the rest area have already been repaired, but it will be necessary to review and recondition the parts that have been damaged in recent months; always careful not to damage anything. It is intended to excavate a small area of the site in order to improve the research done so far. It aims to recover objects and structures in the village that help us to understand how the locals lived, what kind of habitats they had, what practices / activities they did there, what social system they had, etc.
The Josep Carol Escolta Foundation, created by Escoltes Catalans, has the mission of promoting the education of children and young people in responsible citizenship and in the values of Catalan lay Scouting. Therefore, the Foundation works to promote the values of democracy, secularism, catalanism, coeducation, commitment, critical spirit, honesty, solidarity, participation and love for nature
La Llacuna is a municipality in the region of Anoia, with an area of 52.25 Km2 and a population of 957 inhabitants divided into three nuclei and farmhouses: La Llacuna, Rofes, Torrebusqueta and the neighborhoods of Vilates, Pollina , Balta, Clot de les Barraques and Ventanell. The economic activity that predominates in La Llacuna are the services and the rural tourism. Anyone who visits La Llacuna, will be able to discover the great attractiveness of the zone as much at natural level as patrimonial. The latter includes the fountains, the Castle of Vilademajer, the old town, the oak of Anocsa, the remains of the Cistercian monastery of Ancosa, Sant Antoni de les Vilates, Sant Josep de Rofes, the cave paintings of Valldecerves, the Iberian village, among others. Regarding the leisure, the organization understands this time as controlled time, but not directed by the educational team. We believe that this time is very important as young people enhance their creativity and see the evolution of the group and the degree of cohesion they can reach. Various materials are usually added: balls, cards... During this time we will not carry out any directed activity that requires your attention and it will be when you take the opportunity to strengthen the young relationship / educational team on an affective level. In this way we will have a space where young people feel close to the adult referent outside the family environment.
The Municipal Pool has a two-storey building with large multipurpose spaces for use in different activities of the City Council. During the work camp the volunteers will occupy the upstairs area which has a large sleeping space, pantry, patio and dining area. The campleaders will have a small closed room to store the material and the participants' belongings. The kitchen space will be located outside taking advantage of concrete barbecue spaces under a porch. The hob area is stable, secure and ventilated and the laundry, pantry and cooling area is located within 5 meters of the space. The dining room space used is located outside as the patio has large wooden tables with benches and plenty of shade. In case of too hot or bad weather the dining tables would be located touching the equipment under the porch. The facilities have 6 toilets and 6 showers. Being the showers of the pool the space is separated for men and women. The showers and toilets space has a daily cleaning service and, therefore, is a clean and tidy space.

The aim of this camps is that volunteers communicate with children in English, to encourage them to overcome the fear of speaking in a foreign language through non-formal educational methods and setting. In first two days of the workcamp participants will get a formation by Fundacion Cruz de los Angeles in order get to know the local environment and to understand the legal context of working with children under state protection (that includes signing confidentiality contracts and to comply with some restrictions). Children we're going to work with are aged from 6 to 18, therefore our group will be split into two non-fixed teams, rotate and organize different activities according to the kids age group. We will prepare activities and materials in English on different topics, such as archaeology, music, food, animals. With the older kids – teenagers, we will spend time in the afternoons, and mornings are for the younger kids.
Fundación Cruz de los Ángeles is a social service which gives special attention to families, children and teenagers and specifically to those who are socially disadvantaged, people with less opportunities. They work to promote and enhance the comprehensive development of children and adolescents in the personal, family, educational and social fields, looking for the best way to their personal and group development. Through a creative and motivating learning, based on the coexistence of the languages of the participants, activities and specific proposals that fit our reality and our needs. De Amicitia and Fundación Cruz de los Ángeles started this collaboration last year and we continue with it encouraged with the great impact and meaning for kids and memorable experience for volunteers.
Volunteers will have 2 free days in the middle of the camp to discover the area and do any activities and entertainment they like. Optionally they can join the kids during these two days as well. The province of Colunga lies on the Cantabrian Sea and is located in the north of Spain, which is considered as the green area of Spain (lots of rain, trees and plants). Playa de la Griega is beautiful place and it is the nearest beach to the center town of the province, Colunga. This place is famous for one particular thing - here the footprints of dinosaurs were found. East of the beach on the cliffs is the famous and spectacular site of dinosaur footprints. The enormous size of these footprints, some of them reach 1.30 meters in diameter, allows it to be considered ones the largest footprints discovered so far. Village Lastres was listed as one of the most beautiful villages in whole Spain and definitely deserves a visit, actually you're going to live nearby. Going to the lighthouse (Faro de Lastres) will offer you some great coastal views.
The accommodation will be done In a house situated near Colunga. Volunteers will stay apart from the group of children. Food will be provided by the Fundación Cruz de los Ángeles. Breakfasts will be prepared by volunteers, lunch and dinner in the house or together with kids, depending on daily activities.

Candamo/Grullos town hall needs the help of the young volunteers. In this workcamp the volunteers will have two main task which are very different one from the other. The first task is about the. recovery, improvement and signalling of Senda de Los Molinos del Dele: It is about recovering as a tourist path the old path that runs along the River Dele, where several privately owned mills were located, many of them now in ruins. Also, some of the young people might help with another task which is more social: Helping the organisation of an urban summer camp with a local organisation. The volunteers are asked to participate as collaborators/organizatiors in the urban camp for the local kids and youngsters with activities aimed at promoting the use of English among the loca area. The tasks will be shared among the group and each volunteer will have chance to work in both.
The local partner is the Concejo de Candamo (Candamo Town Hall)
Grullos is the capital of the Council of Candamo (Candamo Town Hall) located in the central area of Asturias, lying on both banks of the Nalón river. Without a completely defined urban structure, Grullos mixes a set of buildings that respond to different periods and styles: centuries-old mansions, old hórreos and paneras, Indian houses and modern constructions blend into an environment that still preserves the rural essence. The relief is undulating, alternating peaks with small valleys through which the Nalón and its tributaries flow, highlighting the Dele and the Candamín. Candamo is the oldest town in Asturias. This is evidenced by the famous cave of San Román de Candamo, where the Paleolithic man left beautiful samples of his extraordinary art. In the surroundings, there are several archaeological sites of interest to visitors and scholars.
Accommodation will be in the Municipal Multipurpose Center. This center is not a hostal but a building with several rooms to run social activities. During the workcamp this center which has several rooms will be will be equipped with mats on the floor. Volunteers should bring sleeping bags. It also has a kitchen for the use of the volunteers, a common room, bathrooms and a shower.
In front of the Town Hall of Candamo/Grullos at 18:30 on the arrival day. We recommend the volunteers to arrive to Oviedo airport. Unfortunately this airport is now very well connected. If you can not find suitable flights to Oviedo, you can also search Bilbao and Santander airports where you can find buses to Oviedo easily. In ordert to arrive to Grullos on time, we recommend volunteers to arrive Spain in the morning hours. If you arrive to the town later than 18:30, please inform our camp leader before hand. How to arrive to Candamo from Oviedo will be explained in the infosheet. Please organise your departure after 14:00 from Oviedo.

This workcamp has been running for the last 6 years and last year we managed to keep it alive despite the conditions created by COVID-19. Usually the task in the traditional workcamp of ours is to creating English workshops with the the kids. However that task had to be changed do to the conditions and now volunteers will be doing manual work that means painting, trying to keep the streets and environment tidy, gardening in the parks of the municipality and helping in the irrigation and maintenance of the local parks, as there is a deficit of keepers and the Town Hall needs support, as well as helping in other tasks that may be required. We will still may have some space for creating workshops for the local kids from 3 to 12 years old as we did previous years creating games and to be the first contact in English comunication for those kids that they don´t have opportunity to learn and practice English language. Still social distance measures oblige us to prepare working activitis with low risk and therefore manual work to support this lovely town in Andalucia is a way to keep alive a workcamp that has been running for years.
Town hall of Villanueva de Algaidas, De Amicitia has collaborated with them in the previous years.
Villanueva de Algaidas is located in the Famous Costa del Sol, 60 km away from Malaga, where you can enjoy the greenery of the olive groves and the brilliant white of the farmhouses, or go for a bike ride in the country; these are just some of the options waiting for you in Villanueva de Algaidas. This district, in the northwest of the Malaga region, and offers multiple options for combining activities, flavors and experiences as you wish. Villanueva de Algaidas is reach in archaeological and patrimonial sites such as a complex of tombs, almost 3500 years old, the los Alcaides Necropolis. The archaeological remains are evidence of the presence of man in the area since the Copper Age. Two 9th century cave chapels move us forward through the centuries until 1566, date on which the Franciscan convent was founded, marking the birth of what is today known as Villanueva de Algaidas known as the Convent of Nuestra Senora de la Consolacion. There are two Mozarabic chapels lie very close to the ruins of the convent and will transport you even further back in time and other old sites. Even there are lots of places to visit, the local transtportataion in the area is not very good connected.
The accommodation will be in a youth hostel belongs to the town hall which is occasionally used by pilgrims on the way to Santiago. The hostel is simple but provides everything that the volunteers need. Has a kitchen a nice living room and two showers. However volunteers will have free entrance to the swimming pool so they can also use these facilities. ( Unfortunately the pool wasn't open to public due to COVID-19 last year but we hope that this year it will be possible to have access)
If we can keep the work with the kids of the town, the criminal record will be required.
Please note that the only bus that goes to town leaves from the Malaga bus station at 18:00. The meeting : Will be at the bus stop of Villanueva de Algaidas Meeting time is the arrival hour of the bus on the 15th of July. Departure: After 8 am on the 31th of July. The exact information about the meeting point will be provided in the info sheet.

The municipality of Talarn is located on the right bank of the Noguera Pallaresa and surrounds the town of Tremp. Mainly flat around the water of the Sant Antoni reservoir, this is an ideal spot for the practice of water sports. The village of Talarn was formed on the top of a hill, sheltered by the old castle which occupied the highest position. This village was an old medieval fortress, with walls, towers and gates to the closed village. The streets keep the appearance of the 17th century, the time of its splendour, with some noble houses such as the Baró d'Eroles property. It is also remarkable the fountain of Caps, located in the outskirts of the village and built at the beginning of the 19th century. Other places of interest are the abandoned village of Castell d'Encús, where you can see the ruins of the towns as well as the old wine vats dug in the rocks. This area produces high quality wines named Castell d'Encús, with Costers del Segre DO. Salàs has been historically an important village in the region, in the 14th century it was already authorised to celebrate an annual cattle fair which has been a reference throughout the centuries. Nowadays, this fair has become the Remembrance Day of the Salàs Fair in the beginning of November. Salàs de Pallars has kept its medieval features and still conserves three gates from this period. Nowadays, thanks to the work carried out to valorise its historical and ethnological heritage, Salàs has a remarkable exhibition of museum-shops, which reproduce the atmosphere in shops as they were in the past. The volunteers will enjoy some activities during the leisure time as: - Visit to Epicentre, visitors centre of the Geopark in Tremp. - Visit to Shop Museum in Salàs de Pallars. - Visit to the vineyards and wineries of the private houses of Talarn. - Visit the Salàs, Gerri and Conca Dellà Museums. - Visit Puigcercós Vell. - Departure to Montcortés and guided tour of the town of Peramea. - Visit to Parc Astronòmic del Montsec (PAM).

In this volunteer camp, participants will learn and collaborate in a practical way, in order to develop a value-based work: - Based on the Active Maker methodology, volunteers will learn to undertake social or cultural projects in an international context. - Volunteers will identify their most motivating challenges and will link them to larger initiatives such as the 2030 Agenda and its implementation at a local level. - They will design their own projects, with implementation capacity for their local settings. - They will generate good practices in youth volunteering, participation and social entrepreneurship projects regarding project design, execution, monitoring, evaluation and impact measurement. - Participants will develop leadership, entrepreneurship, participation and social innovation skills, for their own comprehensive growth as well as that of the community, promoting social responsibility awareness. - Volunteers will visit social entrepreneurship projects to work on values of cooperation, solidarity, tolerance, participation and intercultural learning through education.
