Oro de Prioro is an English teaching workcamp. The task of the volunteers will be help to co-create the workshops in English for local children and teenagers. Volunteers will be creating games, workshops and activities for the kids in English so they can practice and learn the language in an informal way instead of school teaching. Activating kids and teenagers, providing cross-cultural learning experience for them as well as English language environment. It will be done through the games, workshops, sport activities, excursions, discussions, etc. It would be a bonus if volunteers could speak a little Spanish but it’s is not essential. The volunteers will work approximately 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday. In the morning from 09:00 to 13:00 aprox. the volunteers will be spending time with kids and in the afternoon hours, they will be preparing the activities all together in group. The weekends will be free.
Town hall of Prioro
Prioro is a municipality located in the province of León, Castile and León, Spain. The municipality has a population of 369 inhabitants. Even though the village is very small there is a circulation with the other villages around. It is 86 km to the Léon city. The characteristics of the terrain have made this area a suitable place to practice hiking and enjoy nature; The source of the Cea River, La Cañada Real Leonesa Oriental, Las Grandes Rutas or GR I, Routes through the different ports such as the port of Mental, the Puerto de la Muela, or the Alto del Puerto del Pando where you can get exceptional views of the Picos de Europa Regional Park. There are samples of the passage of this civilization through this area. In this way, in Villaescusa (a disappeared town between Morgovejo and Prioro) we find a Roman bridge, through which the Roman road continues passing through the bridge of Las Conjas and ascending to Puerto del Pando. Also, there are other important places of interest like churches, small hermitages, the horreos - they are an important part of popular architecture, declared Historical Monuments in 1979, traditional mountain architecture. The extensive natural, the artistic, ethnographic and industrial heritage of the Montañas de Riaño region is preserved in a wide museum network of incalculable tourist and educational value. Prioro Ethnographic Museum located behind the Prioro Consistory building has an extensive ethnographic collection where you can see hundreds of traditional pieces donated by neighbors and classified according to their usefulness, the building that houses the newly built museum houses different exhibition spaces. Also, there are other museums nearby: Riaño Ethnographic Museum Peculiar collection of elements that illustrate the life that was submerged under the waters of the Riaño reservoir, Sabero Steel and Mining Museum, Valdehuesa Wild Fauna Museum.
The accomodation will be done in a local school. There will bel bathrooms with showers and also a kitchen where the volunteers can cook in teams. The accommodation will be very basic. Please bring sleeping bags.
Meeting Point: León Train Station (Estación de León-ADIF) at 17:00 Please arrive to the meeting point on time, in the later hours it's not possible to find a public transportation to Prioro and you may have to spend the night in León. The closest airport is Oviedo (OVD) Airport. Volunteers have to take a train from Oviedo to León. OVD airport is not well connected. There is also options to arrive to Madrid Barajas Airport and take a train or bus to León or arrive to Bilbao airport and again take a bus to Léon.

The aim of this workcamp is recuperation of a mountain village (Aldea de Erbedeira) which has been not taken care for many years due to the immigration of the habitants. The task will be mostly cleaning and renovation of the walking paths and hiking routes around the town and also the restoration of the town, it´s gardens and streets using the carpentry, painting and gardening. In each camp, one or two of these tasks will be organised and the volunteers will help to recuperate the town. The working town and the town of the accommodation will be different and the volunteers will be taken to the work place daily by cars.
Town hall of Ribeira Sacra
The Ribeira Sacra is an area that includes the banks of the Cabe, Sil and Miño rivers, in the southern part of the province of Lugo and the north of the province of Orense, in Galicia, Spain. The capital of the area was agreed to be the city of Monforte de Lemos (Lugo), which is also the most populated town. On April 5, 2019, his candidacy for the UNESCO World Heritage List was approved by the Historical Heritage Council of the Ministry of Culture, a decision that has been postponed until 2025. 2 It was declared on April 15, 2019. September 2021, as well as the Sierras del Ouribio and El Courel, a new Biosphere Reserve,3 becoming the seventh Galician reserve that has this prestigious international recognition. It is in Galicia in northern Spain, and its dense forests form impressive landscapes. In the Ribeira Sacra (named a Biosphere Reserve next to the Serras do Oribio and Courel) you will find a dozen interesting medieval monasteries and one of the oldest wine productions in Spain. During the free time, the volunteers can organise hiking activities in the forests and lakes of the area and visit the historical places. As the villages of the area are very close to each other, the volunteers will have chance to see several towns around.
The accommodation will be done in the Sports Center of Carballedo which is 10 minutes from the working place. The center has showers and bathrooms and also a pool. The food will be prepared by the volunteers with the ingredients provided by the camp leaders. Mattresses will be provided, sleeping bag is required.

The aim of this workcamp is to create workshops for the local kids about agriculture and digital technologies that are used in the agricultural areas. The volunteers will be asked to investigate and create some workshops, games and activities about the topic in the local gardens and the youth center of the town. The volunteers have to have an interest in the topic and make some preparations before joining to the camp..
Fundación Cruz de los Ángeles is a social service which gives special attention to families, children and teenagers and specifically to those who are socially disadvantaged, people with less opportunities. They work to promote and enhance the comprehensive development of children and adolescents in the personal, family, educational and social fields, looking for the best way to their personal and group development. Through a creative and motivating learning, based on the coexistence of the languages of the participants, activities and specific proposals that fit our reality and our needs. De Amicitia and Fundación Cruz de los Ángeles started this collaboration last year and we continue with it encouraged with the great impact and meaning for kids and memorable experience for volunteers.
Volunteers will have 2 free days in the middle of the camp to discover the area and do any activities and entertainment they like. Optionally they can join the kids during these two days as well. The province of Colunga lies on the Cantabrian Sea and is located in the north of Spain, which is considered as the green area of Spain (lots of rain, trees and plants). Playa de la Griega is beautiful place and it is the nearest beach to the center town of the province, Colunga. This place is famous for one particular thing - here the footprints of dinosaurs were found. East of the beach on the cliffs is the famous and spectacular site of dinosaur footprints. The enormous size of these footprints, some of them reach 1.30 meters in diameter, allows it to be considered ones the largest footprints discovered so far. Village Lastres was listed as one of the most beautiful villages in whole Spain and definitely deserves a visit, actually you're going to live nearby. Going to the lighthouse (Faro de Lastres) will offer you some great coastal views.
The accommodation will be in a small rural apartment, some kilometres away from the village centre, with 2 different rooms with beds. No need to bring a mattress but bring lower sheets and a summer sleeping bag is necessary. The house is equipped with shower and WC and a tiny kitchen.

It is a theater-themed work camp where a live performance will be created in the street in emblematic places of the Viana do Bolo, such as: the Homage Tower, the Square, the gardens of Cabo da Vila... Live everything the creative process, from the search for information from the past of Viana do Bolo, the preparation of scripts, scenography, sets, costumes ... by the volunteers for a live premiere for the people of the town and all those who they approach it as a reason to spread their story. For this we will count on the help of young men and women from the Viana do Bolo Town Council who want to help the volunteers and who want to get involved and participate in this project.

Viana do Bolo is a Galician municipality in the province of Ourense. It is located in the heart of the country of Bibei. This region, known as the Maxia Verde de Galicia ("Green magic of Galicia"), is part of the south-eastern Galician mountain ranges, characterized by its high mountains and deep valleys, crossed by numerous rivers such as the Bibei, Camba or Conso rivers, which in many cases they form reservoirs and canyons. This work camp intends to promote among youth the values of solidarity and commitment to the community, especially with people who are in a situation of special vulnerability or lack of protection, through the development of inclusive volunteering activities. The objective is to create a diverse work group in which young people with intellectual disabilities and at risk of social exclusion, with whom we interact, learn the value of diversity and share the same mission to preserve the Galician natural and cultural heritage from a supportive and inclusive. The programming will focus on the following activities: • Conservation work on the Illa de Sálvora and on the Corrubedo National Park. • Construction and installation of nest boxes for bats. • Cleaning of beaches, classification of the waste found and characterization of the species that inhabit the island. • Reconstruction of granaries. • Construction and installation of a hotel for insects. • Eradication of exotic species.

Boiro is a coastal municipality in the province of A Coruña. The island of Sálvora, where the main activities in this field will take place, is an island in the Atlantic Ocean, located at the mouth of the Arousa estuary. Separated from the mainland by a distance of about 3 km to the north. It occupies an area of about 190 ha, and has a maximum height of 71 meters (As Gralleiras). Almost the entire perimeter of the island is rocky, with the exception of three beaches of fine white sand. Since 2001 it has been part of the National Park of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia. The places where the works described below are intended to be carried out will be the Castrillón archaeological site, the Castro de Cabanelas and the Larouco rock presses. Castrillón, an outstanding natural and archaeological monument, is located at the southern end of Larouco Municipality, belonging to the region of Valdeorras and is the natural gateway to the Ribeira Sacra World Heritage Site from the plateau. The three cave wineries found so far are located around the Vía Nova, currently included in the Ruta dos Lagares and Vía Romana de Larouco. Work: - ARCHAEOLOGICAL SURVEY: locate materials and structures that can help them date the important archaeological remains of the municipality. - PLACEMENT OF NEST BOXES: new nest boxes will be manufactured and placed in the natural surroundings of O Castrillón, as well as in other neighboring areas. - MANUAL CLEANING: conditioning work on the visit itinerary of the site and the access roads to Castrillón and the rock presses. - STUDY OF THE FAUNA AND FLORA OF THE ENVIRONMENT:

The municipality of Larouco has important archaeological sites from different periods. The Castro de Castrillón stands out for its monumentality, which will focus the action of this work camp. But the Roman presence is the most evident, both in the toponymy and in various remains found. The best sample is the “Vía XVIII” or Via Nova road that linked Braga, in Portugal, with Astorga, in the Castilla y León region. 1- Introduction to History and local characters: We will visit with the workcampers the Provincial Historical Museum, the Municipal Archive, and the Diocesan Museum of Huesca. We will have the collaboration of the following specialists: Susana Villacampa, curator of the Diocesan Museum of Huesca and Jesus Arbués, theater director specialized in historical shows. This part of the Volunteer Camp will be developed in the Diocesan Museum and in the Young Art Space of Huesca managed by the ITHEC Association. 2- Design of a theatrical route that explains the local history: Javier García Ortega, professor of the Municipal Workshops of Theater of Huesca and actor of Theatricals Productions Viridiana will lead this part of the project. This will require the creation of a climate of trust among the participants that creates an appropriate atmosphere. Once this is achieved, the most interesting events and characters studied in the previous section will be evaluated and the contents of the route will be generated. This phase will take place in the Young Art Space of Huesca, with the materials that it has for activities with young people. 3- Rehearsals of the actors who will stage the guided tour: Javier García will give dramatic shape to the chosen events and one or more characters will be assigned to each volunteer. This is the fundamental part of the work camp, as for several days the only work will be to memorize the text and rehearse the different scenes to repre-sent them. The rehearsals will take place at the Espacio de Arte Joven in Huesca 4- Production work of dramatized routes: For the show to have the best possible result it will be necessary to stock up on costumes and atrezzo properly. That’s why the same volunteers will work on the selection of costumes and accessories that serve to make the show have an almost professional result. This work will be done with ITHEC’s own materials and rented to local theater companies. It will be realized at the Young Art Space. 5- Communication and dissemination of dramatised routes. Through the Tourist Office, social networks and local media. From the Young Art Space of Huesca, with the material of the ITHEC Association (computers, internet connection...) A press release will be drafted and we will try to visit some local media. 6- Development of two sessions of dramatized routes. These visits will be free for spectators and they will tour the historic center of Huesca.
Technical and Human Integration of Cultural Spaces (ITHEC) is a Cultural Association whose goal has been the development of the performing arts and its pedagogy since 1991. It also works in other aspects of the performing arts such as the organization of meetings and training for young artists, or the coordination of youth volunteer camps (Huesca is Legend, which takes place in Huesca and Jorearte, in Santa Eulalia de Gállego).
Huesca is a small city of just over 50.000 residents. It’s located in the north of Spain, at the foot of the first foothills of the Pyrenees mountain range. It has more than 2,000 years of history. Iberians, Romans, Muslims and Jews have stepped into its streets. Its pedestrian centre, its medieval monuments, its university spirit, its vibrant cultural life and the safety of its streets make it a perfect place to develop activities with young people. Huesca is also the nerve centre of a privileged province: in less than an hour we can find landscapes as different as the desert areas of Los Monegros or the snowy peaks of the Pyre-nees. We will do many activities: - Dynamics and games. - Feast of the world’s gastronomy. - Activity to tour and know the city. - Excursion to the natural environment. Trekking to the fountains of Marcelo and Alberca Cortés. Pic nic type food. - Night Photographic Rally. - Pool. - Excursion to a historic area of the Hoya District of Huesca (in collaboration with the town council of Huesca) Castillo de Loarre or Reino de los Mallos. - Visit museums. - Possibility of doing Rafting or sports.
ACCOMODATION: The accommodation will take place in shared rooms in the Santo Domingo de Huesca stu-dent residence located in the central street of Coso Bajo at number 87 next to the bullring and the University. The residence, with capacity to accommodate more than 20 people in double, triple or quadruple rooms has common dining areas and living room with TV and Wifi area. Participants should collaborate in cleaning common areas of the residence crea-ting groups and shifts to distribute tasks. FOOD: Breakfasts, lunches and dinners will be held in the Residence where participants stay at the following hours: breakfast 8.30h, lunch 14.00h and dinner 21.00h. The food will be healthy and balanced, the food will be cooked every day by the cooking team of the residence. The breakfast will be self-service and will consist of: milk, cocoa, coffee, juices, pastries, biscuits, toast, butter and jam. On days when there are excursions or with a very tight schedule out-side the residence the food can be replaced by a picnic consisting of snack and fruit. This case will be exceptional.

The Sant Antoni Tower is a 4-hectare farm, with a 19th century house, this farm consists of several interconnected spaces, due to the different habitats and ecosystems. It has been designed with permaculture criteria and is cultivated with ecological and sustainable methods. The volunteers will work from 8am to 1pm and in the evening, they will be able to have free time activities. Volunteers will conduct the following tasks: a) Identification and selection of plant species, and removing those that are harmful to that environment. They will plant Lantana camara, Nerum oleander and Pistacia lentiscus.. b) Removal of ivy, pruning of dogwoods, cleaning of the space and repair the existing margins. c) In this area there are many remnants of old irrigation pipes, those will be collected and prepared to take to the rubbish dump. d) Pool for amphibious: a hole it's been made in this place, but they will have to waterproof the pond and naturalize it by planting native species. e) Watering cans: of the uses, identification and cleaning of watering cans. f) With the plant elements obtained the previous day, they will extend the fence of the garden below, sewing the branches and trunks together. g) Banks: they will disassemble and remove the paint, choose the good woods and replace those that are needed. h) Painting of the old tennis fence: they will tension and repair the tennis court fence and paint it. Thet will also paint lines for different games and turn it into a multipurpose track. i) Repainting doors of the area: the volunteers will clean the doors and repaint them too. j) Clean the old mud tiles, arrange some mud walls…
The coordinationg organisation for the workcamps is Obre't Ebre. It is a non-profit association created in 2005. The main area of activity is in Terres de l'Ebre. The main objectives of the association are: to foster the social inclusion of young people, generate socio-community actions to foster social cohesion and the values of cooperation, tolerance, respect and justice, foster participation to educate active citizenship, promoting volunteering as a tool for social cohesion. In addition to informing, advising, coordinating and managing international mobility programs in the field of non-formal education. To achieve its goals, the association works with the following programs: awareness, mobility, participation and training.
Jesús is a decentralized municipal entity that belongs to the municipality of Tortosa and is next to Roquetes village. The house of Sant Antoni it’s an old building that since last year the organization has been using for the local youth and also for the international volunteers. We want to create a sustainable project so the people, especially at risk of exclusion and more vulnerable can work there. During one or two days we would also contribute to repaint one of the rooms in an old building to help to create the local music museum for popular and traditional music . Also we would like to invite local volunteers and the city council of Jesús to come to visit you and spend time with you.
The house of Sant Antoni is composed of different rooms where long term volunteers live, the group of volunteers from the camp will be able to share rooms in bunk beds and also sleep in big tents outside. All the facilities are shared with other people. As the house it’s in a natural place you need to consider that there will be insects and mosquitos. The house it’s in the village of Jesús. Near Tortosa, you will be close to the mountains 20 minutes by car but also close to the seaside (20 minutes by train) in Ampolla. The volunteers will sleep in 2 rooms of 6 people (in bunk beds), and others can sleep in mattresses in big tents. In case of rain, mattresses from the tent can be placed into the rooms. No differences between gender in the rooms and participants must bring a pillow and thin cover for nights. No bed linen provided. In the house there are 4 showers and 4 toilets and outside, there are 2 showers. During the day it can be really hot so volunteers need to be prepared with cups, solar cream, long thin clothes… They will share toilettes, kitchen, and other common spaces with other local volunteers. The organization will buy the food according to the menus done during the first 2 days, and volunteers will cook together as a group and will be vegetarian/vegan options.

HOW TO GET TO THE CAMP: BY BUS: From Terminal 1* there is a bus to Tortosa (Estació D'Autobusos De Tortosa – Carrer d'Adrià d'Utrecht 1). You will find it close to the parking exit C, which is just very close to you when you will be outside the airport building. This bus is operated by local bus provider – HIFE, it takes about 2 hours, and you can check the exact departures (from BARCELONA AEROPUERTO T-1) on website www.hife.es. *If you arrived on Terminal 2 and you need to get to Terminal 1, just use the (green) shuttle bus which runs every 6-7 minutes, 24 hours a day and it is for free. It takes you 10-15 minutes. You can buy the ticket in advance (online – but be careful if your flight doesn’t arrive on time) or in vending machine which you will find close to parking C. It costs 23 EUR – keep this ticket with you, so you can get the money back later. Be prepared, you will spend only around 15 minutes on this bus from the airport because it will take you only on the borders of Barcelona. There, you will get on another bus (Hife bus) which will take you directly to Tortosa main bus station / or to Tortosa – Peaje. This is a bus stop aprox. 10 minutes far away from Tortosa itself, where you will have to get on another bus again. May it seem a bit difficult, but don’t worry, in any case the driver says if people that go to Tortosa must change the bus in Tortosa – Peaje, and of course, all the time you can ask him to assure about the information. BY TRAIN: To reach the Barcelona train station (Estació Barcelona Sants) from the airport you can: a) take a train R2Nord from Terminal 2 which operates every 30 minutes, it costs around 4,20 EUR and the way takes you about 30 minutes. b) go by metro (orange line) L9 Sud from Aeroport T1 or Aeroport T2 and go to station Collblanc, where you will change for (blue line) L5 which goes to Sants Estación (L9S goes approx. every 7 minutes, total duration is around 40 minutes, and the price for single way from airport is around 4,60 EUR, for more information: https://www.tmb.cat/en/visit-barcelona/public-transport/metro-airport). There is a national train operator: RENFE. You can search for connections to Tortosa directly on their website http://www.renfe.com/ This journey takes about 2 h 30 min and costs around 15 EUR. You will arrive to the bus station or the train station of Tortosa and then, to get to the house in Jesús: - You can walk (around 3,5 km) - You can catch a bus L1 (Tortosa centre - Ferreries - Jesús - Roquetes) and get to the bus stop Plaça de la Creu in Jesús and walk to the house around 5 minutes more. - You can get a taxi and will find some contacts: https://www.serveisactius.cat/es/baixebre/taxi-tortosa https://www.taxis24h.com/taxis-en-tortosa/. - Aprox cost for taxi: 5 euros - Aprox cost for bus L1: 1,75 euros BY CAR: if volunteers arrive by car they can park it inside the area of the house (bottom part). In case of rain cars need to be removed and place them in upper part. They can arrive also in the evening from 15h to 20h.

Ojos de Braojos is an English teaching workcamp. The task of the volunteers will be help to co-create the workshops in English for local children and teenagers. Volunteers will be creating games, workshops and activities for the kids in English so they can practice and learn the language in an informal way instead of school teaching. Activating kids and teenagers, providing cross-cultural learning experience for them as well as English language environment. It will be done through the games, workshops, sport activities, excursions, discussions, etc. It would be a bonus if volunteers could speak a little Spanish but it’s is not essential. The volunteers will work approximately 6 hours a day from Monday to Friday. In the morning from 09:00 to 13:00 aprox. the volunteers will be spending time with kids and in the afternoon hours, they will be preparing the activities all together in group. The weekends will be free.
Town hall of Braojos
Braojos is a municipality of Spain belonging to the Community of Madrid. It is included in the area of influence of the port of Somosierra, traditional step of the so-called "Camino de Francia", and in its term is also the port of Arcones. In 2017 it had a population of 200 inhabitants. 86 km away from Madrid and it takes approximately a bit more than 1 hour to reach it. During the weekend and free time you may visit the Spanish capital. Normally there are 2 days off per week. You are free those days and have the possibility to plan a group trip to the mountains or to the nearest towns like Rascafria which is located in the wonderful area of Valle del Lozoya, Rascafría is one of the most beautiful villages in La Sierra Norte. It stands out since its foundation for the imposing Monastery of Santa María del Paular. Or Buitrago de Lozoya, which is one of the most picturesque municipalities in the Community of Madrid and has an important mediaeval heritage. Its historic center is surrounded by a spectacular wall of Arab origin, surrounded in turn by the waters of the Lozoya River. Behind its ancient walls await the Castle (14th-15th centuries), the Church of Santa María del Castillo, the Clock Tower and even a museum with works by Picasso. Even though public transportation is not very developed in the area, it could be possible to reach the near towns using buses to Buitrago de Lozoya.
The accommodation will be done in a local hostel in the town which has 8 rooms with several bunk beds in it and separate bathrooms and showers for boys and girls. There is also a well equipped kitchen in the building. The hostel has its own garden and a common area for the volunteers. Even though the there will be beds and pillows, there is no sheets and pillow covers so. Please bring your sleeping bags or your own sheets.
The volunteers have to speak English well as this is an English teaching project.
Arrival: 11/07: 19 pm in the bus stop of Braojos. The volunteers must take the bus from Plaza Castilla bus station in the Madrid city to Buitrago de Lozoya, the biggest town near by and then there, take another bus to Braojos. Please keep in mind that the travel from Madrid takes around 2 hours. Detailed information will be given in the infosheet. Departure: 25/07 please do not buy a ticket earlier than 13:00. It may be difficult to reach to the airport in the earlier hours.
