You'll be helping to enhance our heritage by maintaining and cleaning up the riverbeds and rebuilding small dry-stone walls. You'll build a special bond with the local people who live along these waterways, and you'll also be at the heart of a festive energy by helping to set up one of the village's flagship events, "Le feu de la Saint-Jean" (St John's bonfire).
The historical particularity of the town of Cause de Clérans comes from its two market towns, "Cause" and "Clérans", which have been united for a very long time. One had a defensive function with its castle and the other a religious function with its church. Our international workcamp is waiting for you to perpetuate this age-old link. Together with the locals, we'll be helping to maintain and promote the local heritage, both in terms of the environment and the village's essential festivities. The spirit of cooperation and conviviality are characteristics that define the way of life around here. Join us and enjoy the good life at Cause de Clérans.
You will be welcomed on the edge of the village of Cause de Clérans, you will be in a rural environment and will meet the inhabitants of the area. Leisure activities: During your stay, you will have the opportunity to participate in local festivities and cultural events, to discover the region and to organise your programme of activities with the other volunteers and the leaders.
You'll stay in tents on our summer camp with its lovely panoramic views. Access to dry toilets and showers on site. Individual tents or tents for two will be provided, as well as sleeping mats. Remember to bring your sleeping bag and a pillow. You will prepare the menus and meals together, taking into account the season, everyone's needs and the pleasure of sharing together.
From Bordeaux airport, take a shuttle to Bordeaux-Saint-Jean train station. You will take a direct train to Lalinde (around 1-hour journey)

Do you love heritage and nature and want to be part of a project with a positive impact? Come and contribute to the development of a path in Clermont L'Herault where the Caylus “calade” (traditional streets made of stones) is located. This path will take you to a hill that overlooks the town. The municipality wishes to maintain its paths for the pleasure of hikers. Discover the rich heritage of the town, with its archaeological oppidum, its “capitelles” (huts made of dry stones) and old dry stone walls, and its calades. Your work will consist of enhancing the site by carrying out small-scale landscaping work, clearing undergrowth and making small improvements to the existing calade. This work is therefore essential to maintain the path while allowing visitors, walkers and the curious people of all horizons to come and discover this rich heritage!
Since 2015, we have had a very strong partnership with the town of Clermont l'Herault and local associations that promote the discovery of local heritage. The offices of our delegation are located in the town. We carry out several volunteer projects for young people in the area. We work together with volunteers from local heritage associations. This project concerning the enhancement of the calade on the communal path participates in and contributes to the enhancement of the commune's heritage.
Clermont L'Herault is a charming little town located north of Montpellier in the South of France. With the advantage of a Mediterranean climate and a remarkable natural environment (Lac du Salagou, rivers of the Gorges de l'Hérault nearby), it also has a rich cultural heritage with its castle and cathedral. In the heart of a preserved environment, you can enjoy the pleasure of outdoor activities and make cultural and festive discoveries.
Accommodation will be at the Lac du Salagou campsite. Sleeping in individual tents (bring your own sleeping bag and camping mat). The campsite has all the comforts for daily and collective life. You will share the various collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the leaders and you will participate in the grocery shopping and the preparation of meals, buying if possible healthy and local products.
Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. As part of this project, you'll be helping to build a "self-care" area to complement the facilities already on site. Mainly, you'll be building dry toilets, washbasins, and mirrors for your beauty moments! You'll also develop your DIY spirit by making 99% eco-friendly household products. A great opportunity to try out alternative methods for reducing environmental impact and encouraging more responsible consumption habits. To make the site more welcoming and, above all, to protect certain areas from the summer heat, you'll start creating a shaded area in the garden. You'll also have the chance to get to grips with the garden, its vegetables and herbs, and put your green thumb to good use. Finally, weather permitting, you'll get to grips with low-tech toolmaking, and start making wooden games - the big project that will keep our youngsters busy in July. What better way to stimulate your creativity? There's never a dull moment here! So come and spend two unforgettable weeks and bring Citrus to life with your creations.
Join the Citrus association's major project and help renovate the Laguépie international welcome center. For over ten years, international volunteers have been building, renovating, imagining, and giving shape to a large-scale project. On the heights of the village of Laguépie, Citrus is a place of sharing and encounters, where young people from all over the world come to contribute to the renovation and fitting-out of the international welcome center. Since 2012, the association's buildings have been in the former hamlet of La Mayounelle: offices, a communal living space and an activity room, all surrounded by fields, a green theater and a vegetable garden. Accompanied by experienced leaders, you'll live at the heart of the association and share daily life with the Citrus team and other volunteers on site.
On the Citrus association's international host site, near the village of Laguépie (82250), in the Aveyron gorges, 100 km northeast of Toulouse, between Albi and Villefranche-de-Rouergue. Leisure activities: In the heart of Laguépie (82250)he Aveyron gorges, you'll be able to take advantage of all the possibilities offered by the Tarn-et-Garonne region: swimming in the Viaur river, accessible on foot, visits to medieval villages, kayaking, visits to Albi cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site. With the support of the animation team, you'll also organize activities and take part in meetings with the local population: international meals, intercultural games, film screenings, traditional festivals, etc.
You'll be accommodated in 8- to 12-person, single-sex collective tents with floors and beds. Amenities include dry toilets and solar-powered showers. A pedal-powered washing machine is available for laundry. There is no wifi connection. You will take part in the upkeep of the premises and in the preparation of meals, accompanied by an educational supervisor in the kitchen. Choices will be made collectively to ensure a balanced diet based on your tastes and local seasonal produce.
There is a direct train from Toulouse to Laguépie. The leaders will be waiting for you at Laguépie train station in the afternoon.

This workcamp is for nature lovers since the work will be mainly outdoors. The volunteers will work in a nature park on the island “Usedom” located in the Baltic Sea. There is a lot of work around the natural reserve. Since it’s not possible to use common agriculture techniques, volunteers have to do everything manually. Moreover, every meadow around must be cut and the grass has to be put aside. The aim of this project is to help to protect this unique reserve through your contribution.
This project is organized by NiG e.V., a german non-profit and non-government organization. In this project we work together with the historic technical museum of Peenemünde. The Peenemünde Historical Technical Museum is working on the history of the creation and use of weapons during World War II. The exhibitions document who worked in Peenemünde, how people lived and why the enormously elaborate weapon projects were carried out.
Peenemünde is located in the northern part of the island Usedom which is located in the very north-eastern part of Germany. Usedom is the island with the most hours of sunshine in Germany and a popular travel destination. While Peenemünde was occupied by the German army during the time of the Nazi-Regime, the nature could grow and bloom freely and many salt and orchid meadows sprouted. But Peenemünde is mainly known for its significant role in the times of the Nazi regime. Whereas Peenemünde first was a place where the Nazis' army was positioned for developing different military tactics, it later became a labour camp in 1943. The prisoners had to help assemble the V-2 rockets and other military objects. Leisure time: Excursions can be planned together, short trips to nearby towns, swimming. There will be bikes provided to get to the working location.
The volunteers will stay in a youth hostel. Full board is included (also vegetarian). There will be someone cooking for the participants. Dinner will be warm; lunch and breakfast will be sandwiches.
Please bring a sleeping bag, a mattress pad, working clothes and motivation.
Will be send to the volunteers with the travel information.

These cleanup tasks may be arranged in partnership with the above mentioned organisations or organised solely by SEEDS. We aim to also involve the local community, so some of our events may be open to the public. We hope participants will learn how to plan and do their own trash hunting projects back at home. This project is based on similar activities around the world, where outstanding results have been achieved with volunteers. One of the two options below is also included in this camp as a hands-on volunteering activity day:This camp combines learning, sharing, hands-on work and fun. No previous experience is needed. Volunteers should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and be ready to spend time outdoors, walk medium distances during the cleanups, as during other activities and sightseeing. As a part of the project happens outdoors, volunteers should be ready to adapt and be flexible with the work and free-time schedule, as depending on the changeable weather, we may not be able to perform some of the activities (as) planned.
The Environmentally Aware and amp; Trash Hunting project is part of a series of camps organised by SEEDS in cooperation with different partners. SEEDS works with and supports the Icelandic ministry for Environment and Natural Resources and the City of ReykjavEk on a project to clean up the Icelandic coastline; the Blue Army, an organisation dedicated to the cause of coast cleaning; Whales of Iceland, an exhibition of life size models of whales and porpoises aiming at educating about their lives and human impact on their existence; SORPA, the organisation in charge of waste collection and amp; management in the ReykjavEk area and other local stakeholders. This camp allows volunteers to learn about global and local environmental issues through non-formal activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits, as well as to contribute directly to environment protection by joining outdoor cleanup tasks.
ReykjavEk is a dynamic, modern city which lives in harmony with nature, using renewable energy sources. The worlds northernmost capital bridges the Atlantic, between Europe and North America. Your work involves facilitating access to the Sainte-Barbe Chapel by recreating a pedestrian access path and arranging the surrounding spaces. This includes cleaning the areas (mowing, cutting, clearing), envisioning the future route for visitors and drawing it, and finally securing the location by creating a wooden safety barrier. This work does not require specific qualifications and will be supervised by a technical leader. You will work 4 days a week, from 8:30 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 5:30 pm.
Neige & Merveilles association welcomes you in the heart of the Mercantour National Park, at an altitude of 1500 meters, to work on the development project of the Vallauria Mine. Neige & Merveilles has been working since its creation to revive this historic site in order to offer a haven of peace promoting discovery, encounters, and diversity through the organisation of workcamps. The Sainte-Barbe chapel has already been restored during several youth projects and now needs to be highlighted both for its heritage interest and for the entire history it can testify to. We aim to promote the discovery of this place by rehabilitating the access path leading to it.

The tasks will be mowing andcollecting the grass. Additionally, the participants of the project will support the work on renovations on the Castle grounds. The hilly massive around Lohra Castle is listed as National Nature Reserve. Open Houses supports the Reserve since several years with volunteering activities. In a forest near the Castle the participants will remove trees and bushes which are not corresponding with the protection aims in order to clean the paths and make them enjoyable again. They will also will collect the wood remaining after maintenance works, load it on a truck, unload it at the castle and split and stack it for wintertime or for the fireplace. Besides that, the volunteers will continue the maintenance of the green area at the castle. In addition, in the later part of the summer, they will support the recollection, assortment, splitting and storage of wood to prepare the castle for the harsh winter months. PARTICIPATION TERMS Participants have to take part for the whole time of the project. The working part consists in six hours per day. Be informed, that during all projects the work will take place also on rainy and cold days and be prepared for that.
Open Houses – not empty buildings, but places with visible and invisible traces of history, places which have grown and decayed over the centuries, places which were shaped by those people who lived there long ago as well those who left only yesterday – places which will be shaped by those who live there or who come as a guest. Open Houses – rooms which want to be filled with dreams and ideas, with meetings and exchange, by people of different backgrounds, different cultures, different generations and different ideas and visions. The history of Open Houses Network dates back to the mid-1980s, when a group of young people started to restore village churches in East Germany in voluntary work to protect them from decay. The engagement for these buildings united people who enjoyed the freedom these activities provided and who filled these rooms with life again in ways which by far exceed the craftsmen's work done – through exhibitions, concerts, making music together or just sitting by the camp fire. Meanwhile, rooms free of political and ideological pressure are no longer urgently required; however, places have become rare where people can meet without commercial pressure, free of bureaucracy and institutionalism, free of nepotism and the exclusion which it produces. What should be easy – to go somewhere in order to meet people and to work together – has become difficult. The tightrope walk between, on the one hand, public activities in a monetary and functional sense, and the retreat into private life on the other, is very difficult, and it requires a lot of power and permanent efforts to tackle red tape and financial restrictions. Free spaces are less and less understood as common property, and are permanently being cut back. The idea of public property seems to have gone out of fashion, and places of common responsible work have become rare. Open Houses Network tries to create and protect such spaces. In this process, we do not want to be the doers, but be people who have a vision, who want to initiate something, but who also are aware of depending on the co-operation of others. We understand our projects and events as offers – as offers to create space for commitment, for changes, for meetings.
LOCATION: Next towns: Bleicherode (6 km), Nordhausen (20 km), Erfurt (75 km) Region: Thuringia Lohra Castle is situated in the heart of Germany in Northern Thuringia. The castle, which is surrounded by a scenic hilly landscape, is located on the edge of a natural reserve area. Being one of the largest castles in Thuringia, the history of castle Lohra begins in the Middle Ages. Its architectural styles which have been preserved in the structures of the ensemble attest to a prolonged period of occupation and historical evolution up until today. The castle is more than thousand years old, and it is a relic of German medieval past that is still standing at the heart of a region through which the story of the German nation has been written. Today, it includes twenty buildings from different time periods, showcasing this historical evolution to the enchantment of visitors and heritage enthusiasts: medieval fortifications, remnants of a tower from the 11th century, a Romanesque double-floored chapel, a manor house from the Renaissance period as well as stables and granaries from the 19th and the early 20th centuries. The ensemble is situated in the centre of a beautiful forest. LEISURE TIME The camp places are mostly situated in small villages in rural areas, so the participants should not expect busy places and normal city activities for the leisure time during the working days. Small trips in walking distance are possible in the afternoon. On the weekends it is possible to organise an excursion to nearby cities or to have other leisure activities.
ACCOMMODATION: shared rooms with 2 – 5 beds in 3 guest houses, warm shower (limited hot water), 1 camp kitchen (cold water), coal-burning stoves FOOD: The meals will be prepared together as they are part of the community life, what means that every participant will be responsible for the meal at least once during its stay. So, it would be very nice if the participants could bring typical recipes from home in order to introduce each other to the preparation of food from all over the world.
WHAT TO BRING Usually, average temperatures in Germany during the summer time are about 20o C to 30o C; during the night it will get colder. It is possible that there may be two weeks of non-stop sunshine, but every day rain is not impossible either. In September and October, it's about 8o C to 18o C. Passport Insurance Certificates (EU-members should bring their European Health Insurance Card; those which have an individual travel insurance should bring the certificate) sleeping bag stable work boots, really appropriate for practical work appropriate clothes, waterproof coat mosquito protection lotion dictionary typical recipes, sweets, music, instruments and games from the participants' home country for group activities

Open Houses does not provide internet access or phone at the sites. So, it will be not possible for the participants to check emails or to make phone calls from the project place. The next public phones are at most of the places far away and there are no internet cafes nearby. In the case that participants will need access to internet or phone they should prepare themselves in advance. Furthermore, washing machines are not available at the camp places.

Dare to be in the mountains... the high mountains! In the heart of the Mercantour National Park, at an altitude of 2200m, lies the magnificent Sanguinière hut. Built over a hundred years ago from dry stone, this hut was used to shelter shepherds. Now out of use, it will be the focus of this original and unforgettable project. For those who love the mountains, outdoor life and evenings under the stars, for sports enthusiasts, for those who want to learn to live with the bare minimum... dare to go to the mountains! You will be leading the restoration of the pastoral hut, at altitude, using traditional techniques (dry stone) for the walls and the construction of the larch under-roof. The technical aspects of this project, as well as life in the mountains, require you to be in good physical shape. Our aim with this project is to return to the origins of international work camps for young volunteers. The location is exceptional, and life in the mountains is unforgettable. It's a unique project that has been organised by several partners. Taking part in this work camp requires you to be physically and mentally fit enough to: climb the mountain with a lot of weight (your bags, food, tent), live in the high mountains with the bare minimum (no internet), swim in high mountain lakes, respect nature (flora and fauna), sleep in a tent, take part in the restoration of a dry stone pastoral hut, hike back down to the village (1h30min walk each way). You will be asked to provide a letter of motivation for taking part, in which you can describe your experience and/or your desire to take part in this type of project.
The commune of Saint Pons, which is very active in mobilising its young people and protecting the mountains, together with the Mercantour National Park, is hosting this first youth work camp in 2024 to restore the La Sanguinière pastoral hut (2200m). It is important to respect the rules of life in the high mountains, so as not to disturb the fauna and flora present.
Saint Pons is a very small commune in the Alps (Ubaye), just a few kilometres from Italy. Backing onto the border with the Italian Piedmont, with which it shares almost 33km of ridges, the Mercantour massif is the last promontory of the Alpine arc to the south, before it plunges abruptly into the Mediterranean Sea. From the summit of Gélas, the highest peak in the Mercantour at 3,143 m, you're just 50 km from the sea as the crow flies!
Accommodation during the week will be in individual tents, in the high mountains (2200m altitude). You will set up the tents and your bags on foot (1h30min walk).Cooking will take place in a hut close to the Sanguinière hut, where a gas cooker and (rustic) cooking equipment are installed. The toilets will be dry and the showers solar-powered. Weekend accommodation will be in the village hall, which is a hard-standing building (very large single room, mattresses on the floor). There will be solid sanitary facilities and a well-equipped kitchen. You will share the various collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the leaders and you will help with the shopping and meal preparation, giving priority to healthy, local produce.
The meeting point is at Barcelonnette station in the late afternoon of 26/06. The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the route map, which will be sent no later than 4 weeks before the start of the project. As the journey from Paris is very long, we will be able to accommodate your travel arrangements.
You'll need to bring your own mattress (ground sheet or inflatable mattress) and winter duvet. Nights in the mountains are cold, so bring warm clothing. For work and life in the mountains, bring good footwear suitable for both activities. Don't forget to bring sun protection (hat, sunglasses, etc.). A headlamp (rechargeable if possible) is also necessary, as well as external batteries for charging lamps and phones. There will be no internet, but there will be a few telephone network points in the mountains (depending on the weather and your geolocation). You can also take along recipes from your country/region, musical instruments and games. The last day (17/07) is devoted to departure, usually in the morning.

PROJECT : We co-design camps together with environmental activists: side by side with the community of communities - both local and elected - and institutions, we want to contribute to Valsaviore’s economic, cultural, environmental, and social development. In line with these objectives, the main purpose of this camp is to provide opportunities for concrete action in a wonderful, fragile and precious mountain context, to encourage meeting, exchange and intercultural dialogue between international volunteers and local communities. Not a secondary effect, the volunteers' activity would translate into concrete actions capable of allowing inhabitants and tourists to experience the mountains and the territory safely and without risks, making it a more welcoming, inclusive and attractive place. By joining this workcamp you will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals: SustainableCommunities -SDG11, SustainableConsuption&Production-SDG12, and LifeOnLand-SDG15
WORK : Participants will be mainly involved in cleaning and maintaining the high and medium mountain and agro-silvo-pastoral paths adjacent to the hostel, as well as supporting the activities of agricultural companies. They will also be involved in restoring the signs of the local paths and in taking care of the greenery of the large park surrounding the hostel. For the identification of the routes, obtaining permits, on-site accompaniment and assistance during the carrying out of activities relating to the paths, we avail ourselves of the support and collaboration of the Cedegolo section of the Italian Alpine Club (CAI), of the Valcamonica Mountain Community, of the municipal administrations of Cevo and Saviore dell'Adamello and finally of some agricultural companies in Valsaviore. The shifts will be 5 hours per day, for 5 days a week, excluding Saturday and Sunday.
PARTNER : Casa del Parco Adamello is a multifunctional, community place where people can meet and discuss around mountain culture. It is a space committed to territorial promotion where we can draw a path focused on enhancing potential and local resources. Here we arrange cultural events, workshops and training addressed to social innovators and people involved in mountain areas development.
LOCATION AND LEISURE : Cevo (province of Brescia, Italy) is a small mountain village of 800 inhabitants located inside the Adamello Regional Park, at an altitude of 1,100 m. Placed at the junction of two valleys closed by the head of Adamello glacier, it offers a barely anthropic, natural environment which counts on a reduced tourism flow. An atmosphere foreign to urban chaos where time seems to flow slowly, ideal to hike surrounded by nature. Most local people do not speak English fluently. TERMINAL : Once you land at Orio al Serio airport (Milan Bergamo), take the transfer to Brescia station. From here, take the Trenord Brescia-Iseo-Edolo railway line and get off at Cedegolo station. Trains from Brescia to Cedegolo leave approximately every two hours. From Cedegolo station in Cevo, take the direct bus 23a, which leaves from Piazza Roma (about 500 meters after the train station) and has Cevo/Saviore dell'Adamello as its destination.
ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD : Meals will be served mainly in the hostel with a predominantly vegetarian menu, however variations may be made to meet different needs. Where necessary, volunteers are expected to bring a packed lunch, while on other days they will have lunch together with the local community or at the farms that will host them for their tasks. Main meals are provided (breakfast, lunch, dinner); the remainder are paid by each volunteer. Participants will be hosted at the Casa del Parco hostel and accommodated in several shared rooms: each room has 4 to 5 beds, private bathroom and shower. There are several common areas, including reading rooms, a restaurant and a large outdoor garden, as well as free Wi-Fi (due to the location of the facility in a closed valley, we cannot guarantee a fast connection in case of heavy crowds) and the possibility of using the washing machine once a week.

Grenzenlos is an Austrian NGO based in Vienna. It is independent of religions and political bodies. Grenzenlos is a non-profit association. Its main purpose is to promote world peace and respect between people through intercultural non-formal education programmes abroad which combine cultural integration with engagement at non-profit initiatives worldwide. The German word „Grenzenlos” means “no boundaries” and also “no limits”. The word explains the basic mission of Grenzenlos: to promote the personal development of individuals (no limits!) and inter-cultural understanding through international encounters, trainings, intercultural living and work experience (no boundaries!). Grenzenlos offers a variety of international mobility programmes. These programmes are dedicated to world peace through the promotion of inter-cultural exchanges. Traditionally, Grenzenlos organizes volunteering programmes (individual as well as in the frame of international camps). As an exchange organization, we send volunteers abroad and host volunteers in Austria The Inclusion approach is a high priority for Grenzenlos: special attention is given to promoting the participation of people with disabilities in all our volunteering projects as well as trainings and educational programmes.

Your help is needed with various forest and nature conservation tasks: Firstly, you will be informed about the ecological relationships between forests, wildlife and climate change. Climate change has already had a dramatic impact on the forest in recent years. Many trees have died due to drought, bark beetles and storms. To preserve the forests, many hundreds of thousands of young trees are planted every year. You will help to protect and care for these young trees, e.g. by pruning them, but also by helping to create irrigation opportunities and set protective gates. A second focus is on nature conservation work, be it the maintenance of forest meadows, the selection of habitat trees or the maintenance of forest edges. Important: During the workcamp, the work in the forest may change depending on the weather.
The ijgd has been organising volunteer service programmes since 1949. We are an independent, non-profit association for international youth work, a recognised independent youth welfare organisation, and one of the largest and oldest workcamp organisations in Germany. Each year, we assist around 5,000 young people into volunteer work in Germany and abroad. We give them the opportunity to be creative, act in solidarity, take responsibility for themselves, and discover their own true potential and strengths. Our principles: Ecological learning, voluntary contribution, self-organisation, social development, intercultural learning, gender equality, anti-racism/anti-discrimination and political education. Follow us on Instagram ijgd_workcamps Facebook @ijgd.workcamps

One of the two options below is also included in this camp as a hands-on volunteering activity day:A day trip combining a visit to the HellisheiE(i geothermal power plant, a trash hunt in the area; and the Hot River Hike, a hike up a valley filled with hot springs where one can bathe. A day trip to the Reykjanes peninsula, combined with a coastal cleanup in the area. All the activities are dependent on conditions such as weather and availability of our partners. This camp combines learning, sharing, hands-on work and fun.
ReykjavEk is spread across a peninsula with a panoramic view of the mountains and the Atlantic. It is an international city with a lively cosmopolitan cultural scene surrounded by beautiful nature.
SEEDS volunteers will stay in a house in ReykjavEk. The facilities are basic with a kitchen, shower, and a washing machine. Everyone is expected to show consideration for their companions. Participants will sleep in shared rooms/dorms of up to 6 people. Please bring your own towel. Volunteers will receive food supplies and will be in charge of cooking and cleaning. Please note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music, games or movies from your country for the intercultural evening. Please be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.

The rectory garden was full of woody plants, dry trees and things that time has brought and is surrounded by ruins of buildings without much historical value. The long-term goal is to restore the garden and instead build an open, living community garden that will be used year-round by the local community as a space for relaxation, community meetings and cultural events, especially with environmental content. Volunteers will help with the landscaping of the garden, construction of a fire pit, establishment of garden elements, removal of woody plants in the area of the future sports field, and sorting of construction materials. In case of heavy rain, volunteers will clean the unused part of the rectory. Most of the work will be outside and manual, so bring suitable clothes and shoes appropriate for work, long sleeves and pants are recommended.
The workcamp is organized in cooperation with the Local Action Group (LAG) Podlipansko in the small village of Dobrichov. The LAG focuses on the development of all parts of the region and helps to distribute European and state subsidies to improve the quality of life in the entire region. One of the projects is the reconstruction of the rectory with a neglected garden, which is in an unusable condition after years of no maintenance. Many ruins of old buildings of no historical value forbid a safe environment for the locals´ visit. The goal of this project is to renovate the garden to make it accessible to the public for cultural or environmental events. At this workcamp, you will actively contribute to the achievement of the UN SDG11 Sustainable Cities and Communities.
The project will take place in Dobrichov, which is a village of over 700 residents located 1 hour from Prague. Bigger towns, such as Kolin or Cesky Brod surround it. In the village, you can find a supermarket, a local pub, a soccer field, tennis courts, playgrounds, a church and more. An ATM and a pharmacy are both right in the city centre, not far away from the accommodation. Football or volleyball tournaments with the local community, visit the nearby towns Pecky, Kolin and Kourim, table tennis, table football, piano, lacrosse, basketball, archery, badminton and more sports activities. Musical instruments are welcome.
Volunteers will sleep directly in the rectory in two renovated rooms on sleeping mats. There are 4 toilets, 2 showers, a small but well-equipped kitchen and a washing machine. WIFI is available. You will need to bring a sleeping bag and a pillow. You can also bring an inflatable mat for better comfort. Lunch will be provided by a local partner. Volunteers will be responsible for preparing their breakfasts and dinners from provided ingredients. Bring your favourite recipes and any special ingredients you might need for that. Vegetarian and vegan diets can be accommodated.
Please bring a sleeping bag, a pillow, a mat, shoes and clothes for outdoor work that can get dirty or even damaged. Beware of allergies: pollen, insects. Volunteers are not allowed to smoke on the premises of the town´s rectory.
From Prague airport, take bus 119 to the “Nadrazi Veleslavin'' station. From here, take train Os 9827 to “Masarykovo Nadrazi” at 15:01 where you need to change to train Os 9341 to “Pecky” at 15:58. Lastly, you will walk from Pecky to Dobrichov (approx. 17 mins), your campleader will guide you. Detailed information will be provided in the infosheet.
Volunteers will visit the nearby Radim castle and participate in a workshop about the history of the rectory and the added value of their work.

You will contribute to sustaining the ecosystem of Liepnitz island and the forests around the island. You get to help the local foresters with various environmental works in the woods. Next to that, you will also help with renovation and construction works on the island and in the forests around the island. Possible tasks include removing bushes and invasive small tree species, helping sustain the ecosystem of the moors, collecting rubbish and wood, repairing tasks and so on. Your work days will be 6 hours long and the weekends are free.
The Liepnitz Island is situated in the picturesque lake Liepnitzsee in the north of Berlin. Outside the island you are surrounded by beautiful landscapes with many forests and several lakes. Swimming is allowed, so don't forget to bring your swimwear with you! There are lots of opportunities for outdoor sport activities like soccer, table-tennis and volleyball, or have a walk through nature. There will also be other vacation campers on the island during your stay, with which you engage respectfully. To spend your freetime on the main land around the island, or to visit Berlin, you cross the lake by ferry between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m..
The accommodation is located on the Liepnitz Island, surrounded by the forests and a picturesque lake called Liepnitzsee. Your accommodation and the infrastructure on the island will be very basic. There are three large tents with camp beds to sleep in, and you make use of ecofriendly compost toilets. There is no electricity, heating or warm water on the island, so be prepared for refreshing cold showers! The foresters of the project have built a nice and comfortable block house where the group can meet, cook and eat together. A small kitchen with fridge is available and food can be cooked on a gas hob cooker. Everyday, there will be a kitchen team of two volunteers to prepare food for the group. We encourage you to bring some recipes and special ingredients from your home country to share with the other volunteers!
Volunteers must know how to swim and be prepared for a "digital detox" (no wi-fi).
You have to travel by Bahn or train from Berlin to S-Bernau. There you will meet our project partner. The foresters will take you by car to the camp site. You can also travel to a different S-Bahn. Wherever you arrive in Berlin, the trip takes 50-60 min to get to the island.
You have to be able to swim, as a safety guarantee. Please be prepared for 2 weeks without internet. Cell phones can be charged on the main land during the working hours, but you can bring a powerbank if you need to charge it more often. German language skills will be appreciated because the foresters you will work with are speaking only little English. As it is a nature camp during summer, be prepared for mosquitos.

You'll be helping to refurbish the village's old sports field. You'll be helping to design a friendly, intergenerational leisure area, bringing freshness by planting the site, enhancing the setting : river Tarn, views of the Mont Lozère massif, peace and quiet, and finally making the place welcoming, safe and clean. Several activities are planned for this project. The details of your project will be decided before your arrival, thanks to a final consultation with the local residents. 25h/week.
The workcamp will take place in the commune of Pont-de-Montvert, near Mont-Lozère in the heart of the Cévennes. The aim of the project is to help build a new town square. This square has historically been home to sports facilities, in particular the former tennis courts in the village. However, since the closure of the tennis courts, this space has been more or less left to its own devices, serving as a parking lot and occasional storage area. Since 2018, the commune has planted trees, hedges and installed a playground for the village's children. Your mission : to continue beautifying and transforming this square so that it becomes a place for village gatherings and activities.
The project will take place in the rural commune of Pont-de-Montvert (department 48). The nearest town is Mende, with 16,000 inhabitants. Leisure : Far from the French metropolises, Lozère is nonetheless a very dynamic region. The region's activities revolve around local festivities, concerts and unspoilt natural areas (mountains, rivers, forests).
The workcamp will take place in a particularly isolated area, where you will be accommodated in the village gîte or campsite. You'll have access to sanitary facilities and a communal kitchen. If weather conditions deteriorate too much for camping, you'll have access to a shelter. Meals will be provided by the association and prepared in turn by the participants.
You should arrive at Génolhac train station (30450) on Monday 1st July between 4 and 6 p.m.
