The host is looking for people who like working hard, having fun, and being part of a community to get involved. At Green & Away the host lives in a comfortable outdoor venue as a community of up to 30 volunteers working together to look after the temporary summer home, taking turns to cook meals, and keeping the site running alongside hosting events. The type of activities you will be involved in depends on which phase of Green and Away you join (there are three) and this may involve putting up large marquees, housekeeping of tents or catering large events (there will be more volunteering, these are just examples. This is an ongoing project with several starting dates. In your application, make sure to add which date you would like to start your 2 weeks project. You can apply for several 2-week periods in the same application You will be supported and encouraged to be involved in whatever you feel most comfortable doing, and the host always supports and appreciates new ideas and feedback – Green & Away is a place to share and learn new skills. The host warmly welcomes and encourages individuals of all backgrounds, ethnicities, races, genders, abilities, ages, religions, and orientations to join the Green & Away project. Setup Phase: Each year we build the venue from scratch. The tasks during setup are hard but very rewarding work as you will arrive at an empty field and have the satisfaction of watching and helping the tented village circle take form each day! Basic facilities such as kitchen, showers and toilets will be ready when you arrive. Setup takes two weeks where we erect large tents such as the kitchen and bar marquee, set up and furnish the smaller accommodation tents for paying guests and put in place essential things like plumbing and electrics., and erect the cafe, sitting room yurt, and main marquee tent amongst others. Once the structures are built, they are furnished with seating, equipment, decorations and many flowers and bunting as a finishing touch. Setup is a time of team spirit, learning diverse new skills from how the pulley system on a canvas marquee works, how to build a traditional yurt, how to do an alpine butterfly knot, install our infrastructure such as plumbing or solar powered electrics, and looking great in steel cap boots!
Green & Away is a registered educational charity, who organise, build and run a unique, tented sustainable venue – a temporary outdoor eco-village, situated on the banks of the River Teme, in lush Countryside overlooked by the Malvern Hulls in the West of England. Every summer since 1990, many volunteers from all different walks of life and all over the world have come together to create a beautiful space for events, connection to the outdoors, community and learning – and we are very excited to welcome you!
The site is situated close to a small village which has some small activities going on, the site is roughly 5-6 miles from Worcester with a direct bus. Volunteers can travel quite freely to a big city. More immediately the site is located to a café with walking trails and a river for swimming bordering the site. The nearest hospital is 9 miles away. You will get 2 days off of volunteering, days off are not the same each week, but rest will be assured to all volunteers. The work at Green & Away is what brings us together, but there is also plenty of time for evening activities, revelling in music and laughter in our bar, swimming, playing games and enjoying an evening round the campfire. There is also opportunity for day trips to visit the local area, cultural visits or special days out like canoeing on your days off. You are also invited to engage with our Education Wednesdays, where we spend an afternoon together learning from one another in a variety of ways through talks, workshops and discussions. If you have a skill or knowledge on a topic you would like to share with the group let us know!
The host is an outdoor venue and campsite so all accommodation is tented – this is for all volunteers as well as guests will be in tents. Green & Away will provide you with a space in a tent with a camp bed, sleeping bag, pillow and blanket – IT IS STILL COLD AT NIGHT DURING UK SUMMERTIME, PLEASE ENSURE YOU BRING ENOUGH WARM CLOTHES. All food is provided (3 meals a day, regular tea breaks, with cake!). Meals are vegetarian/vegan, organic, fresh and local when possible. IF you do have any specific dietary requirements, please let the host know in advance. The site has an outdoor biomass-powered, wood cladded shower cubicles, composting toilets, drinking water taps, clothes washing facilities and a washing line. The host provides eco-friendly toiletries. All safety and volunteering equipment is provided by Green and Away.

A conversational level of B2 is necessary to understand safety instructions. ACCESSIBILITY Volunteers need to have a good level of physical fitness and be confident walking on uneven ground outside.

As part of this project, you'll be helping to build a "self-care" area to complement the facilities already on site. Mainly, you'll be building dry toilets, washbasins, and mirrors for your beauty moments! You'll also develop your DIY spirit by making 99% eco-friendly household products. A great opportunity to try out alternative methods for reducing environmental impact and encouraging more responsible consumption habits. To make the site more welcoming and, above all, to protect certain areas from the summer heat, you'll start creating a shaded area in the garden. You'll also have the chance to get to grips with the garden, its vegetables and herbs, and put your green thumb to good use. Finally, weather permitting, you'll get to grips with low-tech toolmaking, and start making wooden games - the big project that will keep our youngsters busy in July. What better way to stimulate your creativity? There's never a dull moment here! So come and spend two unforgettable weeks and bring Citrus to life with your creations.
Join the Citrus association's major project and help renovate the Laguépie international welcome center. For over ten years, international volunteers have been building, renovating, imagining, and giving shape to a large-scale project. On the heights of the village of Laguépie, Citrus is a place of sharing and encounters, where young people from all over the world come to contribute to the renovation and fitting-out of the international welcome center. Since 2012, the association's buildings have been in the former hamlet of La Mayounelle: offices, a communal living space and an activity room, all surrounded by fields, a green theater and a vegetable garden. Accompanied by experienced leaders, you'll live at the heart of the association and share daily life with the Citrus team and other volunteers on site.
On the Citrus association's international host site, near the village of Laguépie (82250), in the Aveyron gorges, 100 km northeast of Toulouse, between Albi and Villefranche-de-Rouergue. Leisure activities: In the heart of Laguépie (82250)he Aveyron gorges, you'll be able to take advantage of all the possibilities offered by the Tarn-et-Garonne region: swimming in the Viaur river, accessible on foot, visits to medieval villages, kayaking, visits to Albi cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site. With the support of the animation team, you'll also organize activities and take part in meetings with the local population: international meals, intercultural games, film screenings, traditional festivals, etc.
You'll be accommodated in 8- to 12-person, single-sex collective tents with floors and beds. Amenities include dry toilets and solar-powered showers. A pedal-powered washing machine is available for laundry. There is no wifi connection. You will take part in the upkeep of the premises and in the preparation of meals, accompanied by an educational supervisor in the kitchen. Choices will be made collectively to ensure a balanced diet based on your tastes and local seasonal produce.
There is a direct train from Toulouse to Laguépie. The leaders will be waiting for you at Laguépie train station in the afternoon.

Work together with local kids with fewer opportunities to create and learn together about and from each other. The main activity will be holding creating workshops and doing renovation work in the local community centre. Volunteers will have a chance to understand the civil sector in Hungary and the social reality of people living in poverty, not only as spectators but as active participants working towards social change. The program will consist of team-building activities, creative and multicultural workshops delivered to and by the volunteers with local young people, interactive programs to get to know the area together and some renovation work on a community house. Campfire, common music and board games are indispensable to the program.
Élmény Tár Tanoda is an organization working with children coming from disadvantaged backgrounds. Their mission is to open up the world for their target group and raise awareness about the opportunities surrounding them. This camp brings local youth together with youngsters from all over the world, providing a chance to broaden their perspective, become more open to the world outside their own community, to learn about acceptance and cooperation. We see this grand, shared international summer camp as a great way of serving our vision for the children and young people around us.
The camp will take place in Pécs, which has a rich historical and cultural heritage, and we will make sure that you have time to explore that. Pécs is a lively city with many options for gastronomy, cultural or music programs and lively nightlife. The location is surrounded by mountains, a rich area with forest, hills, wildlife, and an overall beautiful scenery.
Volunteers will be accomodated in tents, or in the house of the organisation on mattresses. Multiple toilets and showers are indoors. Camp leaders and volunteers will pay attention to having a responsible, local, and balanced diet. The team will cook in turns with the help of local camp leaders and youth workers.
We have to ask for an extra fee of 50 € for the activities. Please send us a motivation letter focusing on why you would choose to work with children and youth, and what kind of related skills or previous experiences you have had. You do not need any special skills, we are just interested in your motivation and background.

The municipality of Hohe Börde, with 14 different districts, is located in a rural region 15 kilometres from Magdeburg. The work camp is designed to give young people the opportunity to make new international friends, practise their English and enjoy working creatively. Together with 15 young people from the community, you will spend the first week rehearsing the children's play "The Dream Bird", in which a little hedgehog meets a beautiful colourful bird, which he later can't find again and searches for all over the world. This story also introduces younger children to the cultural diversity of the world and the English language in a playful way. Your tasks are acting, making costumes and painting stage sets. The focus is on creativity, fun and socialising with others. In the second week, the play will be performed several times for pre-school children and the public. At the end of the project, a joint international closing party is organised.
The ijgd has been organising volunteer service programmes since 1949. We are an independent, non-profit association for international youth work, a recognised independent youth welfare organisation, and one of the largest and oldest workcamp organisations in Germany. The young people participating in the project form a heterogeneous group of diverse origins and socio-economic realities, which enriches not only the project participants but also the volunteering process and the proposal for intervention in patron saint festivities in the San Fermín neighborhood. , thus impacting all the neighbors in the neighborhood. Specific objectives: - Offer an alternative for Leisure and Community Participation to young people in vulnerable situations. - Create spaces for meeting and cultural exchange between the participants of the work camp and these with the entities, groups of the south-east area of Madrid - Prepare a program of cultural and leisure activities that complement the San Fermín Neighborhood Festival program.
The San Fermín Project Association, in collaboration with the San Fermín Neighborhood Association and in coordination with Social Services of Usera and entities and services that intervene in the neighborhood, has prepared a report on the situation of 430 homes in the San Fermín neighborhood, more specifically in the Zona de la Perla, an area with extensive socio-economic problems and in which neighborhood conflicts and coexistence problems have been festering in recent years. This report highlights the serious problems arising from very diverse aspects, ranging from behavior as tenants, neighborhood coexistence, the situation of social exclusion, and the fall to the bottom of the stigmatized space itself. It confirms what lack of intervention entails in an area that has brought together a population of excessively diverse origins: such as rehousing of very diverse types, substandard housing, etc.; without having tissue that relates it, nor a socialization process as a habitat; with a multiform ethnic-social origin that continues to increase; with serious deficiencies not only in the family but also in the socialization process and community coexistence. Based on this analysis, the diagnostic report defines an urban space marked by four items: Deterioration - Unemployment - Uprooting - Eviction. From here, a comprehensive intervention plan is proposed that includes 5 fundamental lines of work: Urban intervention. Training and Employment. Socio-educational Intervention. Community intervention and neighborhood mediation Transverse.
The neighborhood is bounded by the Manzanares River to the east, the M-30 and the south junction to the north, Avenida de Andalucía and the Orcasur neighborhood to the west, and the M-40 highway and the super-south junction to the south. In the volunteer camp, not everything is work, and you will have the opportunity to enjoy leisure and free time activities: • Visit to the historic center and other tourist attractions in Madrid, such as the intercultural district of Lavapiés, the Debod Temple, Plaza España, Gran Vía and La Latina. • Visits to the Prado and Reina Sofía museums, and the Royal Palace. • Excursion to Toledo: Sephardic Museum, Toledo Cathedral, Taller de Moro, El Greco Museum.

Together, we would like to build barrier-free dry toilets and outdoor showers for children and youth groups on our campsite. You will be sawing, drilling, screwing and hammering under expert guidance with professional tools and machines. At the same time, we redesign the outdoor area around the tree house, plant native shrubs, extend the deadwood hedge and do typical gardening work on the site. Volunteers are also invited to take part in the Sunday café. Do you have a passion for baking cakes or enjoy being behind the counter? Then we look forward to your contribution to experiencing this day together. During your stay, there will also be other groups at the youth centre with whom you can sit around the campfire in the evening and chat. We are currently trying to organise an inclusive project together with young people with disabilities. This means that one or even a small group of young people with physical disabilities will accompany the group during the day. Unfortunately, the final number has not yet been finalised as we are still looking for a cooperation partner. Study part: Inhabitants of Jugendhof would like to show you their life style and would like to discuss certain aspects of a life which is mostly self-determined, self-organized and community based. We plan to offer some games for the group as experience how we offer adventure education for kids. Additional info will be provided.
“Jugendhof Bessunger Forst e.V.” is a non-profit children's and youth meeting place and one of the oldest self-managed NGOs in Germany. Located in the forest on the outskirts of the city of Darmstadt, we maintain the tradition of a learning and recreational place close to nature and life with down-to-earth, resource-saving accommodation. For over forty years, groups of children, youth and adults, families, clubs or political initiatives have come together here and found plenty of space to learn, run around, play, relax, meet, develop or simply be outside and together. On Sundays in spring and summer, we open the ForstLove Café with a colorful musical program. Excursionists, city walkers and fresh air fans can relax here in the green idyll on the large grounds. Our offer is especially aimed at families and people with low incomes, as the appreciation of heterogeneity and diversity is very important to us. You can find Jugendhof in Internet: https://jugendhof.org.
The Jugendhof is located at the edge of the Bessunger Forest, which can be easily explored from here. On hot summer days the shady forest offers a good opportunity to cool down and wide open meadows invite you to a relaxed picnic. You can enjoy meetings in a wooden yurt, which was build from an international workcamp as well. If you walk for an hour through the forest and meadows, you can reach a beautiful swimming lake with a small sandy beach. Darmstadt is also very interesting culturally, as it was one of the centres of European Art Nouveau at the beginning of the 20th century. Since 2021, the “Mathildenhöhe artists colony” of the city of Darmstadt is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We would like to recommend a visit to the impressive and unique area, including the museum and the Orthodox chapel. Region: The Jugendhof Bessunger Forst e.V. is located at the edge of the forest between the city of Darmstadt and the village of Roßdorf. The suburban area marks the transition from the Rhine-Main region to the low mountain range Odenwald and is located 30 kilometers south of Frankfurt am Main and 50 kilometers north of the picturesque city of Heidelberg.
Volunteers live in our centrally located self-catering house "Sharewood Lodge". In addition to a spacious kitchen and two bathrooms, there are three bedrooms in the house, each with five beds. In general, the facilities allow a day-long outdoor life.
After registration, we require a self-declaration in terms of legal protection for children and vulnerable persons. You will need working clothes, rainwear and, if necessary, swimming gear as well as sturdy closed shoes. Since it can get very cold in the forest at night, even in summer, please bring warm clothes and don't forget your sunscreen. Bed linen will be provided by the house. Please bring your own towels.

Social fashion has a deeper definition of beauty than the latest vogue: Beauty is something that restores, hopes and reciprocates itself tomorrow. Blind consumerism tells you to buy and define yourself through your looks, or whver is associated with it. However, deep down we are all looking for more than just a quick shopping fix . We want to make a difference, leave a legacy and give from what we ve been given. With Social Fashion we want to create the passion for aesthetics and taste with true values and marry consumerism with care. We want to make it easy to help.We hope more and more ventures are inspired by this hopeful, highly pragmatic and sustainable approach for a better tomorrow

We are looking for volunteers to help run the festival through its preparational works (July 5-15). The volunteers will do construction work, drilling/heavy objects, etc. Work equipment will be provided. After the preparational work, you’ll be free to enjoy the festival and take part in all events.
Bánkitó is Hungary’s biggest independent, socially conscious, cultural and community festival with a wide range of programmes throughout its three days (10-13 July 2024) in the summer from music through theatre to contemporary art. The festival is located in the countryside and hosts 8000 visitors each year. It offers concerts, theatre performances, exhibitions, civil initiatives, workshops, and round-table discussions about social justice issues, human rights, and the experiences and cultures of minorities. It takes place at Bánkitó, a small Hungarian village 60kms away from Budapest. The music at the festival is progressive, contemporary, and constantly renewing, with the newest and most exciting bands of the Hungarian music scene. The civil/cultural programs always poke at important and actual topics, working towards understanding society’s issues with activists from NGOs, musicians, actors, and artists. Contemporary Hungarian theatre pieces will be showcased, and Hungary’s most exciting contemporary artists will transform the shores of Lake Bánk into an art exhibition.
Bánk is a tiny village in Nógrád County with its not-so-tiny Lake Bánk in the middle. It has everything a tiny village built around a lake could need: a small store, a tobacco shop, a pizza place, a pub, some hotels, motels and a lakeshore eatery. Plus the extremely friendly locals. Bánkitó Festival has been in town for 12 years, mostly around the Lakeshore and the Camp, though throughout the years, we ventured out to settle around the Reeds and the Meadow. Besides the lake, the small wooden cabins and the venues hiding around small clearings throughout the enclosing forest make Bánkitó the festival it is.
You will live in tents during the festival and you are asked to bring your own tent (we can provide some if needed). We provide 2 meals/day for you (hot meals for lunch and breakfast). A vegetarian option is available. We provide all equipment needed to fulfill your tasks.
You should be fit enough for physically demanding work. No special documentation is necessary. No COVID-19 vaccine requirements. No language requirements, but we require a way to communicate with the organizers in Hungarian or English. Please bring clothes that you won’t regret getting dirty during construction, your sleeping bag and personal medicine. Please send us a motivation letter focusing on why you would choose to work on the festival, and what kind of related skills or previous experiences you have had at the chosen field, for example doing physical work (construction and demolition) on warm summer days. You do not need any special skills to volunteer at the festival.
You need to travel by train from Budapest to Bánk. The easiest way is to go to “Újpest Városkapu” in Budapest, where you can start a journey to Rétság then change a bus there to Bánk. There is almost every hour a bus, but we suggest to arrive the latest to Újpest at 5 pm. It takes around 1 hour from the airport to Újpest-Városkapú by the airport bus and metro (M3), plus 1,5 hours to Bánk.
The programme of the festival is always organized around a common theme. In 2024, the topic will be Mind-Splitting. This year, the Bánkitó Festival explores how we perceive the world we live in. Are you frustrated by too much information and yet you're indecisive? War or terrorism? Meat or vegetables? Who is the oppressor and who is the oppressed? Left or centre? Let's not even talk about the right. Activism, or are you over it? Go with fashion or go against it? But isn't it fashion to go against fashion? It must be normal to feel like you have seven selves at once. But what's normal? The theme of this year's Bánkito Festival is mind-splitting.

Come and volunteer in a summer village for different (age) groups! 3 weeks of various activities await you while you assist in a summer camp for children, teenagers and young families near Cologne! The summer village does start on the 7th of July. Prior to that, the local team has already built up the infrastructure of the area. All the tents, sanitary facilities and common areas are mostly set up on your arrival. You might be asked to lend a hand in the very final stages of preparation. Your job then will be to work together with the local team and provide different types of activities and workshops for the participants. The children should be able to try out different types of sport, creative (group) activities, do arts and crafting or simply chill or play games. In the first week (KidZ 8.-13.) the program caters for children aged 7 to 12. The second week (TeenZ 14.-22.) consists of a program for teenagers and the last part (GentZ 23.-27.) is dedicated to families and presents a mix of generations from parents to small children everything in between. Aside from helping with the program, there will also be “backstage” tasks, such as going grocery shopping or cleaning. Another responsibility is the night duty: Since the participants are under-age, someone always needs to stay awake. Don’t worry, you won’t need to stay up the whole night and you won’t need to do it alone. It can easily turn into a nice long campfire-evening with friends. It is very important to the local team that you feel and become part of one big group of teamers.
Woanders e.V. is a non-profit organization which wants to reach people of all ages, support cross-generational interaction and contact between people from different areas of life. Their work intends to reduce fear of contact and support tolerance and curiosity for other people, by strengthening the team-spirit “We”. Each summer for over a month, they organize a camping village full of activities for different age groups: This year the program starts a week of kids-program for children aged 7 to 12. It does continue with a week of camping for teenagers (12-15 years old), then followed by a long weekend for adolescents (14+) and a week of family camp. (After the end of this workcamp the program does continue with a second week of camping for children (7-12 years old), followed by a week dedicated to children and young people with or without mental disabilities. The young people might be older (up to 18), but the developmental age is up to 12. If you want to stay for the whole duration, you are welcome to apply also for the second camp IBG ESC 1, which is organized as ESC volunteering team and is ending on the 17th of August. You can find the camp village schedule here: www.woanders.org/zeltstadt/ Participants usually stay there for a full week, most of them will stay overnight in tents and have their meals there as well. It is a project aimed mostly towards children and teens with fewer opportunities but it is open to people from all backgrounds. Priority is given to participants from nearby communities. Since 2020 we successfully support this project with small groups of international volunteers and the local team is looking forward to meet new international friends. By volunteering in this project, you are contributing to a sustainable and inclusive community (UN SDG 11).
The camp village is situated on a meadow surrounded by trees a bit outside of the town of Bergheim. In Bergheim, you can find different shops and cafés, and Bergheim itself is only 20km away from Cologne. On your days off you can therefore visit Cologne, which is the fourth most populous city of Germany, famous for its cathedral and the Roman-Germanic museum. You can also go on trips to other nearby towns, for example to Bonn.
You will sleep in big group tents on the camp village site. Camp mats will be provided, but please bring your own sleeping bag! There are showers and sanitary facilities available, but the accommodation itself is quite basic. There will be no need for cooking since you will be eating together with the local team and the participants, so everything will be provided, but of course it is expected that you may help with cleaning and so on. You can get a glimpse of the project area on the homepage of the association, where you can find pictures from the previous years: https://www.woanders.org/fotos/
We ask for a motivation letter to be sent with the application! Since the project involves children, you need to provide a certificate of good conduct before the start of the project.
You have to arrive in Paffendorf train station. Please check for connections from anywhere to Paffendorf www.bahn.com/en from there it is only a 15 minute walk to the camp village. There will be someone waiting to accompany you.

In this project you will have the opportunity to organize summer camps for marginalized children aged 10 to 18. As a volunteer, you'll be an integral part of the NGO's mission to empower these children by providing them with valuable experiences to make a difference in their lives. Immerse yourself in a week of fun, learning and connection, as you will teach these children about yourself, your culture, and the English language. But that’s not all – if you have a passion for sports or music, we welcome your expertise to enrich the camp experience even further! After Sunday’s arrival (you may explore Budapest over the weekend), we kick off the week with a preparation day on Monday to review the activities and the logistics of the camp, ensuring everything is set for an amazing experience. Tuesdays will be all about building emotional connections with the children by playing together. From Wednesday to Friday, we will venture out from Csörög for two nights of adventure at summer camps across Hungary, creating lasting memories along the way. On Saturday, volunteers will come together for a day of reflection and closure, celebrating the impact made in the children’s lives. On Sunday, everyone will begin their journey back home. As a volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to teach English, lead engaging games and sports, and share the beauty of music with the children. But your role will go beyond teaching skills; you'll be fostering a sense of joy, trust, empathy, and respect, addressing a wide range of psychosocial needs and building essential life skills. Join us in creating a brighter future for these children, one filled with laughter, learning, and limitless possibilities!
Egyesek Youth Association organizes this volunteer program together with Csörögi Tanoda (an afterschool program in Csörög), managed by the Mahájána Foundation since 2011. They aim to ensure that the children learn according to their abilities, find a job they enjoy and become able to adapt to changing circumstances. To achieve this, they try to make learning desirable again among the Roma community of Csörög, where they are supporting 26 families. Their activities include group work and personal development for children, career orientation and community building.
Csörög is a tiny village close to Budapest, but we will send only 3-4 days the rest will be together with the children in Esztergom or Balaton in the summer camp. Although Budapest is very close, it is a vibrant and fascinating metropolis where there's always something going on, so your leisure time in Hungary is going to be well spent.
While in Csörög, you will live in the afterschool building, in a big shared room with mattresses. Please bring your sleeping bags with you. From Wednesday to Friday, you will accompany the children and staff to a summer camp in Hungary. A shower and toilet are available in the building, together with a superb kitchen. We will provide 3 meals/day for you (hot meals for lunch and dinner). A vegetarian option is available. All equipment needed to fulfil your tasks will be provided as well.
No special documentation is required. There are no language requirements, but you will need to communicate with the staff and the children in Hungarian or English. Bring clothes that can get dirty while playing, a sleeping bag, and personal medicine. Please send us a motivational letter focusing on why you chose to work with children, and what kind of related skills or previous experiences you have in the chosen field. You don’t need any special skills to be a volunteer.
You need to travel by train from Budapest to Csörög. Trains depart almost every hour from Budapest Nyugati station. We ask you to catch the train at 6.00 pm at Nyugati Station together so the team can arrive around 7.30 pm to the after-school location. It takes around 1 hour from the airport to the train station by bus and metro, plus 1,5 hours to Csörög.

The camp is designed as a place for socializing, mutual communication and inclusion of people with developmental disabilities with volunteers from the regular population, who come from different cultures and environments. Volunteers will work in the "Oasis" on everyday activities with the users of the house. Main activities are activities that our users also engage in daily life: maintenance and arrangement of work and living space; tidying up the yard and plot; pulling weeds and working in the garden (planting, hoeing, watering, crop care and harvesting); sorting of the obtained fruits and vegetables - separation for feeding in the camp, for distribution to socially disadvantaged members of the local community, for livestock and for compost; feeding of animals and maintenance of premises where animals stay; going to the local environment to empty recycling containers with PET packaging, pressing the packaging, visiting vulnerable families from the local community.
The association "Living togehter" was founded by a group of parents with the aim of improving the quality of life of their children - persons with intellectual disabilities, families and the entire social community since 1997. We have extensive experience in working with people with disabilities, as well as organizing various events. The mission of the Association is to make people with developmental disabilities visible, present and active in all segments of social life, to affirm their abilities and individuality, to promote their rights and enable them to live a dignified and fulfilling life. The values of the association are equality and equal opportunities, commitment, tolerance, solidarity, development of partnership as well as permanent education for all. Young Researchers of Serbia (YRS) was founded in 1976. Our main aims are environmental protection and education, promotion of sustainable development, work with young people in an international context, promotion of scientific creativity and voluntarism and its values. Voluntary Service of Serbia is a volunteer exchange service center founded in 1990 as one of the sectors of YRS.
The camp would take place in Golubinci (a village/town in the municipality of Stara Pazova), 8 km from the town of Stara Pazova. The town has about 5,000 inhabitants, it is a multicultural environment, the majority of the population is of the Orthodox faith, but the Catholic population is also very represented. In the center of the town there are Orthodox and Catholic churches, a supermarket, a post office, a school, a kindergarten, a health center, cafes... It is interesting that the castle Schloss (from the 18th century) is located there, which is accompanied by stories about curses, infidelities and punishments. It has significant architectural and historical value because Karađorđe Petrović and composer Ludwig Van Beethoven stayed there. Various manifestations are held in the town itself throughout the year: Cat Festival (masquerade ball and carnival), Days of Rosemary, Earth Day... During the volunteers' stay, the celebration of Petrovdan - the holiday of the place - will be held, during which numerous outdoor activities will be organized and a fair in which enjoyed by all the locals.
Camp Oasis Golubinci gathers people of good will who are ready to help and provide support in life and work to adults with developmental disabilities. Oasis Golubinci is a living and working community for people with disabilities, and in the Oasis itself there is accommodation for volunteers and users. Volunteers will be accommodated in houses that have all the necessary equipment (sufficient number of bathrooms, kitchen, dining room), in double and triple rooms. All houses/accommodation units are in the same yard, so volunteers are directed to each other, although they may be in separate houses. Given that there are 4 different kitchens, there are opportunities for volunteers to participate in the preparation of food themselves, and the association can provide the necessary food, according to our capabilities. Volunteers will be provided with bedding.
Previous experience of working with people in situation of developmental disabilities is not necessary, however you should be motivated to spend time with them and help organize activities. Keep in mind that it can be quite hot in the summer, prepare adequate clothes a good mosquito repellent and shoes for working outside.
There is a direct train that takes around 45 min from Belgrade to the village of Golubinci and it operates several times a day. The farm is easily reachable from there. Also, from Belgrade bus station there are numerous departures to Stara Pazova (the journey lasts around 40 min), and from there many local buses go to Golubinci (10 min). More details will be provided in the Infosheet about reaching the camp.

You will be involved in making organic herbal tea. It is an important way of promoting local traditions and products in Nova Lhota. You will learn to recognize various herbs, collect them and make herbal mixtures. To see the whole production process, they will help in the social enterprise in Nova Lhota where the herbal teas are packaged (grind and filter dried herbs, fill the boxes with tea bags and wrap them in foil on the machines in the tea production workshop, etc). In a natural garden, you will help with weeding, mulching and/or other small jobs. In the village of Nova Lhota, you will help with the maintenance of public spaces. Bring suitable clothes and shoes that can get dirty and a raincoat. No previous experience with this kind of work is required.
This project is organized in cooperation with Nova Lhota, a small Moravian village located in the White Carpathian Mountains on the Slovak border. The village runs an eco-centre and is very active in environmental activities and education. In the village, herbal tea blends from local types of herbs are produced. The project aims to involve volunteers in collecting herbs and fruits, getting to know the local culture and nature, and maintaining the public spaces, greenery and valuable flowery meadows. In this project, you will actively contribute to achieving UN SDG11 Sustainable Cities and Communities and UN SDG15 Life on Land.
The project takes place in the small village of Nova Lhota surrounded by the nature of the White Carpathians. The collection of herbs and minor garden work takes place in the natural garden at the Karpaty Ecocentre. The herbs are then processed in a nearby building, in a small factory of regional teas. In the village, there is a grocery and general store, a hostel, 2 playgrounds, a school, a cultural centre, and a church. ATMs or pharmacies are located in bigger towns Velka nad Velickou (10km) and Uherske Hradiste (30km). The region is famous for its folk traditions and beautiful countryside. You can go on a trip to Straznice or Skalice, visit wine cellars, the Bata canal, the windmill in Kuzelov, go on a hike and reach the highest peak of the White Carpathian Mountains – Velka Javorina. You can get involved in guided creative leisure activities in the eco-centre, which will support group cohesion and beautify the garden area (e.g. mosaics, decorations from nature, houses for insects or pictures painted with clay pigments, etc.).
Accommodation will be provided in a tourist hostel in Nova Lhota. You will sleep in rooms on bunk beds with duvets and pillows. There are 5 rooms (2 x four-bedroom, 2 x six-bedroom, 1 x eight-bedroom). There are bathrooms, a dining room with a fully equipped kitchen, WIFI, a washing machine and relaxing spaces in front and behind the building. For two days you will stay at a farm in Travicna and sleep in a natural wooden cottage or the open air. Thus, bring a mat and a sleeping bag. You will cook for yourself in cooking teams from provided ingredients.
Bring your sleeping bag, a mat, clothes and shoes for work, a raincoat, a good mood and a willingness to meet others. There is a strict no-alcohol policy in the place of accommodation. This project is suitable for volunteers who like nature and learning about the environment and local traditions. You will spend a lot of time outdoors so you can get into contact with different kinds of plants, herbs, pollen, and insects. There is a risk of allergies to hay and grass. This project is supported by the EU program European Solidarity Corps. Some of the conditions differ from the usual projects; there will be detailed info provided after your acceptance. For more info about ESC visit https://europa.eu/youth/solidarity_en.

In this edition the proposal revolves around the elaboration of different non-fiction pieces that reflect the patrimonial, cultural, artistic and literary wealth of the Celanova Council, involving the Celanova people in this project, through the realization of different interviews and collection of testimonies. The different pieces must meet a series of technical requirements (shots, sequences, angles...) as well as geographical ones (filming locations). Together with the audiovisual team, the participants will go through the three stages of audiovisual creation: pre-production, production and subsequent assembly. At the same time, they must take advantage of the technical means (cameras, sound equipment, tripods, computers, drones...) to film small individual pieces that they will present at the final short film festival, thus ensuring active and participatory learning, in which All the participants approach audiovisual knowledge in a practical and playful way. Help us to create pallet outdoor furniture for the commune of Les Mureaux, creating a cheerful, welcoming environment for local residents! The city of Les Mureaux is home to a number of social and youth structures that are essential to the town's social and cultural activities. You'll be helping to spruce up the outdoor structures, to make them more attractive to all, and the project's aim will be to create an outdoor living room with urban furniture made from reclaimed wood, so that it once again becomes a welcoming and convivial space for all, and especially for the neighbourhood's youth! Workshops to raise awareness of sustainable development and citizenship will be organised.
For the third year in a row, Concordia is pleased to partner up with the Les Mureaux Municipality. We are bridging the gap between the citizen passport project (a participative financing project for underprivileged youth in Les Mureaux) and Concordia volunteering. You will team up with young people benefiting from the project thanks to the municipality who has initiated this partnership with the objective of getting young people involved through a cohesive and socially responsible approach.
Les Mureaux is a western suburb of Paris with 32,000 inhabitants, a little under an hour away from the capital. You will be housed on the Val de Seine leisure island, which offers activities such as the beach, sailing, fishing, mini-golf, canoeing, or horse riding (note that only the beach and park are accessible free of charge). The social centre is only 15 minutes away from the leisure base, and you will be driven there and back each day. An outing will also be organised in Paris.
You will be housed in individual tents with indoor toilets and showers at the Val de Seine leisure centre, 15 minutes away from the workshop place. Meals will be collectively prepared by the volunteers, taking turns. The camp leaders will have a budget for grocery shopping, to which you will take part in, preferring healthy and local products. There will be wifi available in the leisure centre main building, but not around the tents. There is no washing machine but laundromats are available around town if necessary.
Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.
The meeting-point is set for the 16/07 at 3pm at the LES MUREAUX station. To arrive there you will need to take the line J regional train from the Paris Saint-Lazare station. If you are arriving at the Orly airport, you will need to take the OrlyVal bus to Antony, then take the RER B to Châtelet, and finally metro line 14 to Saint-Lazare station If you are arriving at the Roissy - Charles de Gaulle airport you will need to take the RER B to Gare du Nord station, then the RER E to Haussmann - Saint Lazare (take the escalator to pôle Saint Lazare, not pôle Haussmann) If possible, please consider using low-carbon transportation (train and bus rather than aeroplane) for a sustainable international workcamp. For more information on trains, metros, RER and local bus lines, please visit: https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/
Think about taking gloves, clothes and shoes adapted for work. The nights can be quite cool, so take a warm duvet or sleeping bag. If you wish to share with the other volunteers, you are also welcome to bring recipes, musical instruments and any other traditional things from your country/region. Jaunatne smaidam / Youth for Smile is a non-profit, non-governmental youth organization founded in 2005. Our organization is dedicated to fostering the intellectual, creative, and personal development of young people through various initiatives. With a mission to create, experience, and be together, we aim to provide opportunities that empower local communities and contribute to the growth of youth on both local and international levels. Our organization's primary goals are threefold: creating, experiencing, and being together. We strive to enable local communities to learn, participate, and self-realize (Creating), offer experiences at the local and international levels to promote personal development among young people (Experience), and cultivate an environment where young individuals can develop competencies for the growth of their communities (Being together). The organization is committed to fulfilling these goals through a range of tasks and programs. These include: 1. Youth Initiatives: We actively develop and promote youth initiatives, fostering favorable conditions for intellectual and creative development. 2. Non-formal Education: Providing young people with opportunities to acquire essential life skills, knowledge, and competencies through non-formal education. 3. Leisure Time Activities: Offering opportunities for young individuals to make good use of their leisure time in meaningful ways. 4. Information Access: Ensuring young people have access to relevant information for their developmental needs. To address the needs of youth with fewer opportunities, we implement outdoor education and adventure pedagogy through various non-formal education programs. Additionally, our international voluntary work camps program promotes intercultural learning, community development, and peace education. In low-populated areas, we conduct mobile youth work, providing essential youth services where municipalities may not cover them. Advocacy at the regional level is a crucial aspect of our work, advocating for the quality of youth work and the development of participatory youth policy. Furthermore, our active involvement in traditional folk and cultural events aims to introduce these aspects to the youth, preserving cultural heritage and fostering a sense of community. DIY workshops are organized to support young people in learning practical skills necessary for life. While the organization was established in 2005, we have grown to be a values-based youth association with a significant impact on local communities and the personal development of young individuals. Our commitment to creating, experiencing, and being together drives our efforts to empower the youth and contribute to the well-being of the broader community.
