SEEDS’ programme combines learning, sharing, hands-on activities, getting to know Iceland, its culture, having fun, exploring the city and its attractions, as stunning natural attractions in possible excursions. Participants should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and should be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances during activities and sightseeing. Note this project is a learning/sharing camp and not a standard workcamp. This project has a smaller volunteer work part and puts a bigger emphasis on the personal learning process than on the community impact. One of the two options below is also included in this camp as a hands-on volunteering activity day: 1. A day trip to the Hot River area, combined with a cleanup or work with an environmental project in the area, or 2. A day trip to the Reykjanes peninsula, combined with a coastal cleanup in the area.
During this camp, participants can share their love for (and learn more about) global & local environmental issues, as well as photography. If you are interested in topics such as climate change, waste management, animal protection and sustainability, and you also love taking photographs or want to develop your photography skills, then this project is for you! While developing artistic and technical photography skills, you will be focusing on environmental and sustainability issues through non-formal activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits facilitated by SEEDS. One of our aims is to help create more environmentally aware consumers & travellers! You will visit local projects on environment and conservation. These may include hands-on activities or guided visits. Some examples include outdoor cleanup tasks, a geothermal power plant, a local fauna and/or flora exhibition or an outdoor Icelandic culture museum. Some of these activities are dependent on conditions such as weather, as well as availability or restrictions of our partner organisations. You will also have time to put the theory about photography into practice, walking around and exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant are selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS' social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods and laptops if possible.

PHASE ONE: PREPARATION During this phase, the festival is taking form, as we build it up from the ground, starting from the basics as tents and practical stuff, and finishing off with the small final details. Every year we come up with new ideas and plans, we need to decorate the whole area, and that includes building graffiti walls, painting signs, and placing items around the festival. There will of course be a lot of time in the beginning to get to know each other. PHASE TWO: THE FESTIVAL This phase is the most stressful but also the most fun! In this phase of the festival, we invite all our beautiful guests to the festival we created in the last couple of days. There will be shifts for every volunteer in different locations, such as the entrance, festival area, cleaning toilets, and other jobs. There will of course be space for a lot of fun and just vibing. PHASE THREE: CLEANING This phase starts already Sunday morning when the guests begin to return home, as we pack everything down. This mostly takes us all of Sunday, so there will be time to pack up and say goodbye on Monday. FREETIME: Since the camp is so short there will be no days off. The closer we get to the start of the festival there would be more to do. Working hours from Tuesday till Thursday will be from 10:00 in the morning till 20:00. Friday and Saturday there will only be a few shifts we have to cover, and the rest is time off, where you can meet Danish people and experience our festival.
Gnist Festival is a music and art festival created by and for young people based outside any major city. It's a two-day festival with a lot of music acts, art exhibitions, and other major activities such as community dance, techno yoga, talks, short films, and many more. We value the spirit of the youth, culture, and all different kinds of art and music. Please take a look at our Instagram to see what we do: https://www.instagram.com/gnistfestival/
The area is close to the sea, and it is a bit out in the countryside. The area is an old military missile launcher site, but it’s empty except for two garages we use. The event is at the start of May, and therefore it can be good to bring some nice fleeces and cozy clothing when you’re going to be outside all day!
Sleeping + bathroom facilities: The festival has a sleeping area, where during the actual festival days, the guests and the volunteers will sleep in tents. We will also sleep in that area on the days leading up to the festival days. We can provide tents for you. You just need to bring sleeping bags and an air mattress or similar. Let us know if you need anything, we can maybe lend you it. We will have a trailer bathroom available for you. Meals + kitchen facilities: The food will be made by our food and drink provider Jens! He owns the nearby restaurant and will ensure you have plenty of food for all activities until the festival begins, where there will then be food stands.
Language English will be the only language spoken. All participants must be willing to speak English, even though they are from the same country or have trouble with the English language. Try your best! It is very important for us, to get volunteers that are creative, and who can take initiative. We are looking for volunteers who are independent and will contribute to the project with innovative ideas.
Meeting Point and Time: Store Heddinge St. May 7th between 13:00-15:00. Arrival at Copenhagen Airport: To make it to your meeting point in time, your flight must arrive no later than 12:00 on the first camp day. From the airport, you take a train to Copenhagen Central St. From there you can take a train to Køge St. where there is a bus that goes to Store Heddinge St. Total travel time from the airport to the meeting point will be approximately 2 hours and cost around 20 €. Just let us know if anything happens so we can help you out. Further details on travel arrangements and purchasing of train/bus tickets will be provided in your infosheet after acceptance. If you are not able to make it in time to the meeting point, please consider arriving one day early and booking a hostel.

You will take care of several sculptures on the path and restore them to their original state. Weather and people have left their mark: The stone of the sculptures needs to be brushed to remove moss and lichen, and some sculptures are also sprayed with graffiti. For others, the subsurface needs to be renewed or maintained. The explanatory plates for the objects will also be replaced. In addition, you will completely renew the barbecue area, which is part of the 9km long trail. This area is intended to invite people to combine arts, nature and community.
Over water - over land: this is the name of Europe's first cross-border sculpture trail. In 2000, twelve internationally renowned artists realised ideas and thoughts on the theme of borders - dividing and uniting - in sculptures. Embedded in the marvellous landscape of the High Rhine, this path is a cultural symbol of friendship and connects the places on both sides of the river and the German- Swiss border. Now, almost 25 years after its construction, the sculpture trail needs some maintenance. The citizens of Hohentengen would therefore be delighted if this could be done with the help of international volunteers completely in the spirit of the path's artistic message.
Hohentengen am Hochrhein lies in the south of Germany, in a kind of bubble surrounded on three sides by Switzerland. Only the Rhine separates the village from Switzerland. The village offers unspoilt nature, numerous sports and leisure facilities (beach volleyball, swimming pools, water sports ...). Mountain ranges on the northern edge of the municipality, the Rhine Valley opens up to the south, the Rhine glistens in the plain and the Alps in Switzerland greet you on the horizon when visibility is good. With its 3,600 inhabitants, Hohentengen offers the entire infrastructure you could wish for: supermarkets, shops, pubs and much more.
You will be accommodated in the local multipurpose hall in the centre of the village which is otherwise used for sports and events. This offers plenty of space, a small kitchen and enough sanitary facilities for everyone. Camp beds are provided.. Please bring your own sleeping bag and pillow (if required). Your group of volunteers will be responsible for grocery shopping and cooking together. The food will be bought with the camp budget and everybody will take turns for cooking, washing the dishes and cleaning. In order to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet, we encourage volunteers to reduce meat and try more sustainable dishes.

: Being part of our volunteer and stewarding team is an amazing opportunity to carry out some meaningful volunteering whilst also having the opportunity to enjoy all Elderflower Fields has to offer (for no cost!). You will be part of the amazing community which comes together to make the festival happen, many of whom come back year after year and will be on hand to show you the ropes. It is a hugely rewarding experience in which you will have an amazing time and make great friends. Volunteers will be part of the field team – the eyes and ears of the festival. Volunteering in pairs, you will look after a specific area of the event and act as a contact point for the guests. Therefore, it is important that you have a good level of listening and speaking English! You may be answering questions, offering directions and helping people find their way around the site. After initial training and learning you will be able to identify if anything needs rectifying. You will be in contact with Event Control , reporting any incidents and feeding information to the public. This is a fantastic volunteering opportunity for anyone interested in getting into event management with real on-the-ground responsibility at a large arts event. As you will arrive a few days before the festival begins there will be several tasks to get the site ‘festival ready’ and after the festival there will be jobs to revert the site back to its Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Elderflower Fields was born in 2012 out of a desire to create a new festival designed especially for families and kids. The festival sold over a thousand tickets and everyone loved it, the sun was shining, kids played and people danced. The festival was so popular that it happened again in 2013 and then a new bigger venue in 2014. Pippingford Park is set in an Area of Outstanding natural beauty. The host intentionally keeps Elderflower Fields small – this is part of what makes it such a safe and special festival. Designed especially for those with young children as an opportunity for little festival first timers to dip their toes into a magical world of music, fun and nature. Families return year after year for a weekend filled with new experiences, exploration and celebration. Elderflower Fields is an independent festival, created by So Sussex and put together by a small but hardworking time to create a magical experience for their audience. The rest of the festival is made up of friends, family and amazing volunteers – hopefully including you!
Elderflower Fields is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – before the festival is running there will be lots of opportunities to explore and walk around the natural environment. During the festival you will have free time to enjoy and explore all the festival has to offer including music, food, activities and workshop, it really is amazing! You can look at last year's festival here - https://south.elderflowerfields.co.uk/2023-highlights-by-jakob/

There is a microwave and hot water urn at the Crew HQ, volunteers can bring any snacks/additional food they wish to consume during the festival – please be aware there is no oven and minimal fridge space, so non-perishable foods are advisable if you wish to bring anything additional. The association for the renovation of Samuel JonssonEU? 1/2U? 1/2s art museum in Selardalur has been working on the restoration of SamuelEU? 1/2U? 1/2s statues and buildings for some years. SEEDS volunteers will be working hand in hand with a well known sculpture artist; who has dedicated several years to this project.
SEEDS Volunteers will be working for the ninth year helping and supporting the restoration of the artworks of Samuel Jonsson, an Icelandic folk artist, who lived in Selardalur. During his years of artistic production he produced unique concrete statues using sand from a local beach. Sadly, Jonsson passed away in 1969, leaving his creations without a caretaker. The land and the statues looked like they were simply going to be abandoned to nature in the out-of-the-way valley. However independent and government organisations have worked together with the support of SEEDS volunteers to preserve the site, which still remains for any visitors who would like to see the world through the eyes of an Icelandic farmer. This year, SEEDS volunteers will be mostly working on different walking paths and trails in the area, in Brautarholt/Samuel Jonsson Museum and Uppsalir/the house of Gisli O. Gislason, a museum in preparation.
This camp is located in Selardalur on the west side of Arnarfjordur, in the Westfjords, which are among the most breathtakingly beautiful places in Iceland, with its high mountains and dramatic fjords cutting deep into the landscape. The Lonely Planet put the area on its top 10 list of regions in the world to visit in 2011. Jonsson constructed at his farm in Selardalur a folk art environment that consists of a sculpture garden and two built structures: a chapel and a museum with his paintings and other small works. The story related with the chapel says that Jonsson had made an altarpiece, he wanted to donate to the local church, an offer that was rejected however. So to provide a place for the artwork, Jonsson constructed his own chapelSamuel Jonsson could first fully devote himself to creative activities after his retirement as a farmer and then he began building palaces and sculptures. Samuel built a grotesque but charming resemblance to the lion fountain in the Alhambra-palace in Granada, Spain, and sculptures of seals and other animals as figures from Icelandic history like Leif the lucky who found America. The distance from Reykjavik to Selardalur is about 500 km (8-9 hours drive) via the Whale Bay tunnel; it is perhaps one of IcelandEU? 1/2U? 1/2s most remote areas and a very peaceful and beautiful place to enjoy.
The volunteers will be hosted in a local house, in sleeping bag accommodation with mattresses on the floor. Please bring your own sleeping bag.Food supplies will be provided and a kitchen will be available, volunteers will share the different duties of cooking and cleaning. Remember to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music, games or movies from your country for the intercultural evening. Please be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.
English will be the official language in the camp; high proficiency is not a requirement. Participation fee EUR 300 (Euros). Please note that the fee can either be transferred in advance via bank transfer, or paid for on arrival. The participation fee does not include the transportation from Reykjavik to the camp and back, which will cost EUR 75 one way or EUR 150 both ways.It may be very cold and/or rainy, so we recommend bringing warm and waterproof clothes (underlayers, overcoats, scarves, gloves and hats), good walking shoes, as some of the activities take place outdoors.Volunteers need to be prepared for physical work, to experience all kinds of weather and bring warm clothes as the project takes place outside and the weather can be cold. SEEDS and/or our hosting partner will organise free time activities in the area. This may include sightseeing, hiking, swimming in natural hot pots, etc.
Closest international Airport: Keflavik/Reykjavik (KEF). Bus station: Central Reykjavik (BSI).SEEDS offers the minibus option, a shared transportation from the SEEDS office, in Reykjavik, to the camp and back. Apart from being cheaper and convenient, it allows participants to meet and have a relaxed trip, while stopping on the way for interesting sites.Departure from Reykjavik will be at 8:00 am in the morning of June 3 from the SEEDS office. After the camp, we will arrive back to Reykjavik in the late evening of June 10.

The municipality of Hohe Börde, with 14 different districts, is located in a rural region 15 kilometres from Magdeburg. The work camp is designed to give young people the opportunity to make new international friends, practise their English and enjoy working creatively. Together with 15 young people from the community, you will spend the first week rehearsing the children's play "The Dream Bird", in which a little hedgehog meets a beautiful colourful bird, which he later can't find again and searches for all over the world. This story also introduces younger children to the cultural diversity of the world and the English language in a playful way. Your tasks are acting, making costumes and painting stage sets. The focus is on creativity, fun and socialising with others. In the second week, the play will be performed several times for pre-school children and the public. At the end of the project, a joint international closing party is organised.

In the last workcamps with the help of the local artist Ms. Ulrike Speckmann, volunteers created colorful messages of peace, which were shown in public places. For example, they designed „benches of encounter“, a “table of peace and reconciliation” also a big mural in the local kindergarden. And again, the artist is happy to help you to get in a creative process of painting and designing. For information about the artist, please visit http://ulrike-speckmann.de/.This year there will be offered a graphic art project in the first week. It will be based on the short story "Nachts schlafen die Ratten doch" (English title "Rats Sleep at Night") by Wolfgang Borchert, written in 1947 right after Second World War. It is considered as "Rubble literature" and shows how a future perspective can emerge for the traumatised boy in the midst of a destroyed environment when two strangers meet. and talk together. Volunteers are to translate the short story into picture ideas, which can then be graphically designed using the linocut technique. The result will be a graphic novel in book form, which we can be printed in a small edition. In the second week, the volunteers are invited to renovate and beautify the outside area of a social centre. Either in a kindergarten or an institution for adults with mental disabilities Members of the parish will be happy if volunteers are ready to contact the different social groups of the town, especially the children and the older generation.
Commemorating as a way towards peace! The Evangelical parish of Datteln is the origin of a Christian Peace Movement, which builds up a European network for international encounters and voluntary service as a contribution to peace. The Parish of Datteln aims to remember a historical event, which took place after World War I during the French occupation of the Ruhr area. It happened on Good Friday in 1923 in Lutherhaus (former parish center): the French lieutenant Etienne Bach and the German official Karl Wille found the strength for reconciliation. Following their example, representatives of many nations, which could see each other only as enemies for generations, found a good way to communicate. The root of the movement “Youth Action for Peace, YAP“ lies in this international encounter that took place more than 90 years ago. Lots of volunteers have learned that reconciliation is possible, even if contradictions seem to be unbridgeable.
Excursions to local places of interest, like crossing 4 channels and other sites.
The participants will be accommodated in the modern community center of Datteln „Etienne-Bach-Haus“. Please bring with you a sleeping bag. Camp beds and pillows will be provided.
Volunteers with interest in creative arts and social work are very welcome. After confirmation of placement in this camp, you will have to sign a self-commitment statement in terms of legal protection for children and vulnerable persons. Please bring a sleeping bag.

This is a historic project for Concordia Normandie-Maine. After a 20 year hiatus, we are once again working with the commune of Saint Germain de Martigny! More than twenty years ago, the mayor of the village asked Concordia Normandie-Maine to create wooden cladding around the village hall. The years have gone by, and the mayor's son, who is now the current mayor of Saint Germain de Martigny, has once again called on Concordia to restore the cladding that was installed twenty years ago! The aim of the project is to sand and repaint all the wooden cladding on the village hall and village hall to give them a brand new look!
This is our second year working with Saint Germain de Martigny, after a break of over twenty years! Saint Germain de Martigny is a small village of 80 inhabitants in the Orne department. A few years ago, the village was famous for its large golf course, which was destroyed over the years. Today, the village wants to regain its reputation by rehabilitating its leisure centre!
Saint Germain de Martigny is in the south of Orne, in Normandy. Situated 30 minutes' drive from Alençon, it will delight nature-lovers with its peace and quiet and its local landscapes.
All for adventure! You'll sleep in individual tents near the mini golf course at Saint Germain de Martigny (bring your own sleeping bag and sleeping mat). The sanitary facilities and kitchen will be in a building close to the site. You will share the various collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the leaders, and you'll help with the shopping and meal preparation, giving priority to healthy, local produce. You can exchange recipes if you wish. Laundry will be done by hand. There is no WIFI connection.
The meeting point is set for late afternoon at l'Aigle station on 02/08. The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the route map, sent out no later than 4 weeks before the start of the worksite. Several direct trains leave from Paris Montparnasse. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and a half. Train reservations are possible approximately 4 months before departure on the SNCF website, link below: https://www.sncf-connect.com/ As far as possible, remember to use low-carbon means of transport (train and bus rather than plane) for a sustainable international site.
The worksite will take place in a rural environment. We try to make our workcamps more responsible and more consistent with ecological issues. For example, we encourage groups to discover the area using as little car journeys as possible. Car journeys will therefore be reduced. Don't forget to take good shoes and clothes that won't get wet when you're on site. And don't forget to pack clothes for the cold and rain and a good, warm sleeping bag: the nights can be chilly. You can also bring along musical instruments, juggling instruments, costumes or other games to show us your talents, as well as typical products from your region! The departure is set on the last day of the workcamp (02/08), usually in the morning.

Jorearte is a performing arts festival in a rural environment that was born in 2020 in Santa Eulalia de Gállego. In the last edition it was financed by the Provincial Council of Huesca, the Hoya Region of Huesca, the Santa Eulalia City Council, the Ayerbe City Council, the Biscarrués City Council, the Agüero City Council and the Loarre City Council. Each edition has been a success and far exceeds the organization's expectations. In 2024 the fifth edition will be presented and a volunteering strategy is proposed that will focus on two different areas: 1.- Support in the organization of the Jorearte Festival, Performing Arts in nature. Pre-production of the festival: adaptation of performance spaces, logistics, signage, etc. These works will be carried out with the supervision and accompaniment of the Festival's production staff. Among the tasks to be carried out are the decoration of the spaces, adaptation of the public areas with chairs. Preparation and transfer of merchandising and dissemination material such as posters and hand programs. Festival production: Assistance to artists, welcome upon arrival of the companies, accompaniment during their stay and preparation of the catering. Loading and unloading of technical material. Surveillance of performance spaces. Information to the public, distribution of programs, sale of merchandising, access control. 2.- Staging of a show that will be part of the Festival programming. The volunteers will create and stage a show within the Festival programming. This artistic work will be led by Javier García, professor at the Municipal Theater Workshops of Huesca, actor and theater director with more than 20 years of experience in the sector. The rehearsals will take place in the space known as Corral de García. The theatrical performance will be done in Spanish. Therefore, participants must memorize the texts in this language.
ITHEC has been working on youth, free time and performing arts issues for more than twenty years. In all this time we have held workshops for young people, theatre and dance festivals. But among all these activities that we have carried out with young peo-ple, the colonies that took place between 1995 and 2011 in Albarracín (Teatro en Alba-rracín, IAJ) and the Youth Initiative “La Campana de Huesca” financed by the Youth stand out. The program in Action stands out in the last years. 2012 and 2013. Since 2015, it has organized the Huesca is Legend International Youth Volunteer Camp and since 2021 Jorearte. These activities have shown us that the performing arts can be part of young people's leisure, but also their training, in addition to promoting their personal development and even their employability.
Santa Eulalia de Gállego, a small town in the Pre-Pyrenees that has less than 150 inhabitants. An exceptional territory, known as the Kingdom of the Mallos, perfect for combining heritage, nature and art. An idyllic place, at the foot of the first Pyrenean foothills, mythical mountains for Span-ish climbing such as the imposing Mallos de Riglos. These mountains have written golden pages in the history of climbing and mountaineering in our country. Every year they attract numerous athletes fascinated by the majesty of their walls and cliffs. An isolated place, like much of the rural world. A narrow road leads to the town. A perfect place to retreat and think, to work and create, to meet and share, to reflect and plan. A perfect place to coexist, concentrate and prepare a unique Performing Arts fes-tival in natural spaces.
The Casa Felisa establishment located in Santa Eulalia de Gállego is an old oil mill, re-habilitated and transformed into a cozy rural tourism home. It has double and triple rooms with bathroom. In addition, it has two living rooms and a common dining room. In recent years, Casa Felisa has run out of space to accommodate a group of 20 people, which is why since last year we also have the Casa García Artist Residency, which has been in operation since 2023. It has five bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a library, two kitchens and several common spaces. Participants must collaborate in the cleaning tasks of the common areas of the accommodations. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will take place at Casa Felisa. On days when there are excursions and during the Festival, some of the daily meals will be replaced by a picnic due to the need to travel to the town where the festival takes place, which, being itiner-ant, takes place in 5 different towns.
Our working language will be English, but just in case you need we can also communi-cate in Spanish and French. At the end of the work camp, we will prepare a theatre play that we will perform in Spanish, but don’t worry if you don’t know a word, it will be fun to learn together some Spanish sentences. It will be enough to bring comfortable clothing to carry out regular activities (tracksuits, shorts, tights, t-shirts can work), a swimsuit, and sneakers for walking. Health card and Identity Document. For the residence you must bring sheets or a sleeping bag and a towel, the blankets are provided by the accommodation.

Shoot a short film together and beautify a circus space with art and crafts! - You can try this out at this international art camp. "Learning by doing" is the order of the day, so you can collect ideas and try things out in small groups. In the first week, you will show off your craft and artistic skills and improve the site of the Jokes Circus School, a children's and youth project with a real circus tent. In addition to the tent, there are mainly shipping containers on the site, which serve as offices, toilets, storage rooms, dining and meeting rooms and will also be used by you during the camp. You will carry out various craft and gardening activities to beautify the circus site. For example, as you can see in the photos, you will build a roof construction between two containers and pave new paths on our circus site. In between, there will also be some juggling, acrobatics or aerial artistry. More information about Jokes Die Circusschule (Jokes – The circus school) can be found here: https://www.circusjokes.de/ (unfortunately only in German) In the second week, you will learn how to create short films - from the initial idea to completion. After an introduction to the technology, you will develop a storyline and start filming. Whether it's a short feature film with you as the actors or a short documentary film - you can tell your own little story. There are no limits to your imagination. In addition to the many different filming techniques, you will also learn how to edit and add sound to your films (probably using the freely available video editing programme CapCut). Previous knowledge is not required, but would be appreciated. You will be guided by an experienced film and photo journalist. The film workshop will take place from Monday 29 July to Friday 2 August from approx. 9am to 5pm. You can find some films from the last camps here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1xBVom-lk8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5v5vcVpV2I4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZQaPuy4L-g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIN6k_QkKVM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGHE-Z2kZGc
Jokes die Circusschule (Jokes the circus school) In 1998, young circus enthusiasts founded their own circus school together with artists and teachers. Since then, young and young-at-heart artists from 4 to 99 years have been able to help shape the circus school. In 2020, after a long period of planning, the school was finally able to move to its own space and set up its own circus tent, where shows are performed regularly. In addition, the Circus School has a hall for training. Almost 260 children and young people use these halls every week to do circus together. In addition, there are more than 300 children and young people who are looked after at schools on a weekly basis. https://www.circusjokes.de/ (only in German) The ijgd has been organising volunteer service programmes since 1949. We are an independent, non-profit association for international youth work, a recognised independent youth welfare organisation, and one of the largest and oldest workcamp organisations in Germany. Each year, we assist around 5,000 young people into volunteer work in Germany and abroad. We give them the opportunity to be creative, act in solidarity, take responsibility for themselves, and discover their own true potential and strengths. Our principles: Ecological learning, voluntary contribution, self-organisation, social development, intercultural learning, gender equality, anti-racism/anti-discrimination and political education. Work: The main focus of the camp is to create with the group your own short theatre play and to experience how much fun acting, dancing and playing can be in a group of great variety. We will include young (international and national) people with fewer opportunities, and you have the support of professional theatre pedagogues who will teach you exercises and give you instructions. The theatre sessions include the recognition and use of natural tools (body, voice, and space) and the development of potential skills (concentration, imagination, memory, expression, and creativity). You will be involved in a dynamic theatrical process, and at the end of the camp, you will perform your self-created play. The work will start on the 22nd of July. You will work five days a week from 9:00-15:00 with a lunch break of 30 minutes. There is no need for any theatrical knowledge in advance, but your motivation and willingness for acting is important because the theatre sessions are creative and artistic practices, and your input is needed.
Grenzenlos is an Austrian NGO based in Vienna. It is independent of religions and political bodies. Grenzenlos is a non-profit association. Its main purpose is to promote world peace and respect between people through intercultural non-formal education programmes abroad which combine cultural integration with engagement at non-profit initiatives worldwide. The German word “Grenzenlos“ means “no boundaries” and also “no limits”. The word explains the basic mission of Grenzenlos: to promote the personal development of individuals (no limits!) and inter-cultural understanding through international encounters, trainings, inter-cultural living and work experience (no boundaries!).

The Peace Studies Center is located on the edge of a former battlefield. An exceptionally bloody battle took place here on a Sunday afternoon in july 471 years ago. Analogous to the well-known motto "swords to ploughshares" we redesign this to "battlefields to playing fields". The participants of the work camp will design different elements of this playing field. This means manual work with wood, metal, earth and colour. Anyone who appreciates creative work can work on some piece of art under expert guidance, which is to be developed on the topics of the reconciliation work done by “Community of the Coventry Cross of Nails”, CCN. This is an international Community; a worldwide network of churches, institutions and places which works closely with Coventry Cathedral for peace and reconciliation. In total, there are 50 members across Germany and over 200 worldwide. Coventry was one of the first towns which was destroyed by German Bombers in World War II. For the Community of the Cross of Nails, standing up for peace and reconciliation means to heal the wounds of history, to recognize differences and to value diversity, and to create a culture of peace.
The Peace Studies Center in Sievershausen (Antikriegswerkstatt Sievershausen) was established in the premises of the Sievershausen Lutheran Church community more than 50 years ago. During that time, the Vietnam War escalated. Nowadays there are several buildings, including a guesthouse and the well-known "Anti-War House" with an assembly hall for our events, located in a park-like area along with a church older than 1000 years on the edge of the village. The peace center shows through its diverse program, that peace work has political, historical, educational and cultural aspects. Throughout the year one can visit exhibitions, author readings, lectures and many cultural events. The peace education offers of the seminar area include teaching units, trainings for school classes and church groups on current and historical topics. You will learn some essentials of peace work and receive basic training in non-violent conflict management by professional trainers. Moreover, the respect for Human Rights und circumstances of war and climate change is being discussed. We will visit the memorial in the former Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet young people and families in die region, the group will also invite people of the village and region to an “Evening of encounter” (Abend der Begegnung) at the Peace Center.
For the leisure time, the group can use facilities of the seminar house and take part in excursions to Hannover and Braunschweig.
The accommodation for the participants is offered in rooms with four beds each. There are bed sheets available. Food is prepared together in the kitchen of the seminar house.

The aim of this project is to make more effective interventions in artistic, social and human rights issues while also doing some manual work to renovete common and public space in Carsoli community. By joining this workcamp you will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals: SustainableCommunities-SDG11
Volunteers, who will be joined by local youth, will be tasked with making street furniture items using poor or salvaged materials, such as little houses dedicated to the free exchange of books. Some minor maintenance work (painting of railings, low walls and street furniture) may also be carried out to upgrade one or more public areas, also providing for the inclusion of some artistic elements. The activities, agreed upon with the Carsoli Municipal Administration, will be designed and supervised during implementation by a number of local artists and artisans. The work will take 5-6 hours each day and 2 days off in the work week.
The camp is organized by the support of "Il Mondo in una Stanza", an association based on the social promotion and non-professional sport, with the support of the "Municipality of Carsoli" and in collaboration with many corps active in this territory. The straight relations between the different entities enable them to make artistic, social and human rights operations more efficient.
The Piana del Cavaliere, an area in which the municipality of Carsoli is located and of which it is the most representative center, has experienced significant industrial development since the 1970s, a development favored by its proximity and connections to Rome. The territory is rich in forests and large areas are part of protected areas. In the municipality of Carsoli there are very spectacular caves included in a site of community interest (SCI area) traversed by several trails. Volunteers will have the opportunity to visit these and other natural areas of high value. We count on maintaining visits to some easily accessible locations (Tivoli and Rome) as well as to some places of interest in the Carsoli area (Pietrasecca caves and Tufo murals in particular). It will also be left to volunteers to enjoy some leisure activities such as horseback riding or swimming pool.
Volunteers will stay in a facility called the "Cultural Recreation Center" run by the "World in a Room Association. "The place is covered but with ample outdoor space, resides within the village, and has available toilets, showers, and a kitchen for preparing meals. Sleeping mats are available for sleeping. Volunteers should bring sleeping bag, towels and personal cleaning products. Bringing something reminiscent of the country of origin is widely appreciated.Various musical instruments are available in the facility.
This project is supported by the European Solidarity Corps. Food and accommodation are covered by the European Union. Transportation costs will be refunded according to the distance band rules of the programme. No fees are required. The workcamps are open for international volunteers (coming from EU ESC countries projects).
Carsoli is a small town in Abruzzo (population 5,500) 60 km from Rome, to which it is connected by train, bus and highway. Volunteers will then be able to reach the town by public transportation.

Participants will have time to put the theory about photography into practice, walking around and exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant are selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS' social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods and laptops if possible. While learning about photography, the participants have the opportunity to explore Icelandic culture by taking part in it, capturing it and also by displaying their work during the camp. One of our objectives is to empower young people to use photography to draw attention to environmental and cultural subjects and issues. Participants should be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances during activities and working within a flexible time schedule. Participants will be photographing in their free time outside of workshop hours with images to be discussed at group feedback sessions. Note that this project is a learning/sharing camp and not a regular workcamp; it has a smaller work part and puts more emphasis on the personal learning process than on the community impact. We may be able to organise some outdoor voluntary work, but it depends on our partners and the weather conditions.
This is the seventeenth year (since 2008) that SEEDS organises a series of International Photo marathons, while we started organising camps open for teenagers in the year 2010. Throughout the year, participants from all over the world come to Iceland for an immersive photography-related learning camp. SEEDS coordinators help the participants to develop their unique photographic skills through workshops and feedback sessions on technical settings, compositional considerations, as well as to create conceptual frameworks highlighting the participants’ individual style.

Participants that cannot arrive on time (later flights) will be sent information on how to reach the camp location. Those arriving earlier the same day are welcome from 10:00 am to the office to drop their bags/luggage and wait for the meeting time. Additional excursions (eg.
