Active for climate protection and biodiversity – save the peatlands in the Hunsrück area! You will actively contribute to protecting a special peatland called “Weyrichsbruch”. This area was drained more than 150 years ago for forestry use. Peatlands are a valuable and natural Co2 storage as well as an ecological habitat with a high and very specialized biodiversity. For these reasons, in the 1980s it was decided to revitalize a small part of the Weyrichsbruch. Now the regional authorities for nature protection want to revitalise a much bigger part and this is where you can help! Under the supervision of two experienced Park Rangers you will improve the water balance in this peatland in order to renature the bog, and help it to cope better with the consequences of climate change. Some of your tasks will be to undo the drainage of the area by blocking or filling ditches, or by building small wooden barriers. While working, you will be able to discover many rare species which have already returned. The park Rangers will be happy to explain to you the ecological background and the consequences of climate change and they will guide you to discover this special habitat and its species. The Weyrichsbruch is bordering a well-known hiking trail. On that trail, it is possible to take a look inside the bog from a wooden plank path. In addition, various information boards have been placed around the area to convey the ecological background of the Weyrichsbruch and thus contribute to environmental education. Attention: The work might be physically hard, the wheelbarrow becomes your daily companion and you will get wet and muddy for sure! Please bring hiking boots, rubber boots and suitable working clothes.
This is a special project for nature lovers and people interested in nature protection work. You will get wet and dirty. Please be prepared that April in the Hunsrück area can either be warm and sunny or quite fresh and rainy.
The workcamp will take place in Kell am See, a village 30 km from Trier, not far from the border with Luxemburg. The landscape in this area is very beautiful! It is dominated by huge forests, steep hills, small brooks and ponds, rocks and marshes. Only small hamlets interrupt the nature, which makes it a perfect region for plenty of different species but also for hiking. You will really feel different here! The area is well known for cycling, walking and other kinds of outdoor activities. There is a local holiday resort nearby the Education Centre, which offers more than 200 holiday bungalows next to a lake and locals love to come here for cycling (there is a 45 km cycling path on a former railway roadbed) or to spend a nice day outside. The region also offers plenty of historic sites (castles, museums….). In addition, you will have the opportunity to come in contact with local associations, e.g. the local voluntary fire brigade. Since there aren’t many public transportation means available around Kell am See, the number of excursions will be limited. However, you will have the chance to visit the city of Trier with its famous Roman sites, the cathedral and birth place of Karl-Marx
You will stay in the Educational Centre in Kell am See, which is an important place for youth work in the whole area around the city of Trier. This public and non-profit centre offers the opportunity for youth groups, associations and schools to spend some days or weeks here running a seminar or other projects. You will stay in five wooden tepees for max. five persons each. Staying here, among pure nature and with the campfire in the middle of the tepees’ circle is a wonderful experience. You will sleep on mattresses inside the tepees. Close to the tepees, you will have access to your own kitchen including a dish-washer, to a living room and sanitary facilities, all inside the Educational Centre. In your free time you can use the different outdoor facilities of the centre like the campfire and the basketball, football and volleyball fields. Close to the centre, there is also a lake and hiking trails. Please be aware that the tepees have electricity but no heating, so it might be cold at night. The facilities in the centre (kitchen, living room and sanitary facilities) can be heated though. Your group of volunteers will be responsible for grocery shopping and cooking together. The food will be bought with the camp budget and everybody will take turns for cooking, washing the dishes and cleaning. In order to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet, we encourage volunteers to reduce meat and try more sustainable dishes.
Please be aware that ticks are a problem at all outdoor work camps in Germany - including this one. In our General Infosheet you will find suggestions on how you can protect yourself against them. You are also welcome to check whether a vaccination against the tick-borne disease TBE makes sense and is possible in your home country
You will be picked up from the bus stop in Kell am See. Please inform your campleader about your arrival time on Apr 21st . You can check for connections from anywhere to Kell am See on: www.bahn.com .

Lights, Curtain, Action! Are you ready to take part in the building of a theater set? In this camp, you will help with the set construction for the Open-Air Theatre Heidenheim. During 2024, 2 plays will be performed here: 'Annie' – a red-haired orphan finds a new home with a wealthy businessman, under the care of his assistant, in her search to reunite with her biological parents - and 'Der Räuber Hotzenplotz' – the tale of Kasperl and Seppel, striving to capture the cunning robber Hotzenplotz to retrieve Grandma's stolen coffee grinder. The stage and set needs to be renewed accordingly: In the end, the scenery is supposed to look like New York and a small german village at the same time – a very interesting and challenging task! You will screw, nail, and paint. Smaller props will need to be built, too. Apart from that, your work will also entail: • Installing a wooden floor in the prop garage. • Renewing the cover of the small wooden shelf storage. • Restoring the seats in the “Klausen” garden. • Cleaning stones around the cold storage with a pressure washer, possibly renewing or filling with gravel. • Painting walls and repair cracks in the pavilion. ...and some other tasks as needed! Be prepared to always lend a helping hand. There will be a professional stage builder who helps you with all tasks. For sure it is helpful though, if you have a bit of experience in manual/constructional work and have used tools like cordless screwdrivers before.
Your host is the Open-Air Theatre Heidenheim, the 2nd largest one of its kind in Southern Germany. It is situated on the “castle hill” of the town of Heidenheim an der Brenz, surrounded by forests, and can accommodate up to 1,100 spectators. The Open-Air Theatre is run by a non-profit association and they are very excited about hosting again a group of international volunteers. This project is perfect for everyone who is interested in theatres and wants to have a look behind the scenes! Have a look at the theatre here: www.naturtheater.de The association was first founded by Gustav Müller over 100 years ago, after the first World War, in his quest of dedicating his life to something that would unite people: art. In 1919 not only did Müller materialize this idea, but also managed to host several productions at the concert stage. Nowadays, with over 500 members of all ages, the 'Naturtheater Heidenheim' association is one of the most popular organizations in the city of Heidenheim and its surrounding area.
Heidenheim an der Brenz is a town with a bit less than 50,000 inhabitants in the southern region of Baden-Württemberg. The area is rather rural with a beautiful countryside: since it is at the end of the Swabian Albs – a mountain range of about 220km - there are many hills and forests. Also in the town you will find the Hellenstein Castle, first built on the 12th century, and wildlife park with around 100 animals, very close to your project. If you would like to visit a larger town, you may go to Ulm which is only 30km away. Stuttgart and Munich are about 2 hours by train.
You will be accommodated directly on the project side: Next to the stage, there is building for administration, a workshop, a café … Here you will have one big room for yourselves, showers, and a kitchen. Be aware that there is only one big room for sleeping available to all volunteers – no separation possible! Your group of volunteers will be responsible for grocery shopping and cooking together. The food will be bought with the camp budget and everybody will take turns for cooking, washing the dishes and cleaning the accommodation. In order to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet, we encourage all volunteers to reduce meat and try more sustainable dishes.
The meeting point will be directly at the accommodation. The path between the place where you will stay and the train station is about 2kms long, so it should take you about 20 mins to get there.
Please be aware that ticks can be an issue when you spend a lot of time outdoors in natural areas in Germany - like in this camp. In our General Infosheet you will find suggestions on how you can protect yourself against them. You are also welcome to check whether a vaccination against the tick-borne disease TBE makes sense and is possible in your home country.

SEEDS’ programme combines learning, sharing, hands-on activities, getting to know Iceland, its culture, having fun, exploring the city and its attractions, as stunning natural attractions in possible excursions. Participants should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and should be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances during activities and sightseeing. Note this project is a learning/sharing camp and not a standard workcamp. This project has a smaller volunteer work part and puts a bigger emphasis on the personal learning process than on the community impact. One of the two options below is also included in this camp as a hands-on volunteering activity day: 1. A day trip to the Hot River area, combined with a cleanup or work with an environmental project in the area, or 2. A day trip to the Reykjanes peninsula, combined with a coastal cleanup in the area.
During this camp, participants can share their love for (and learn more about) global & local environmental issues, as well as photography. If you are interested in topics such as climate change, waste management, animal protection and sustainability, and you also love taking photographs or want to develop your photography skills, then this project is for you! While developing artistic and technical photography skills, you will be focusing on environmental and sustainability issues through non-formal activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits facilitated by SEEDS. One of our aims is to help create more environmentally aware consumers & travellers! You will visit local projects on environment and conservation. These may include hands-on activities or guided visits. Some examples include outdoor cleanup tasks, a geothermal power plant, a local fauna and/or flora exhibition or an outdoor Icelandic culture museum. Some of these activities are dependent on conditions such as weather, as well as availability or restrictions of our partner organisations. You will also have time to put the theory about photography into practice, walking around and exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant are selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS' social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods and laptops if possible.
Reykjavík is a dynamic, modern city which lives in harmony with nature, using renewable energy sources. The world’s northernmost capital bridges the Atlantic, between Europe and North America. Reykjavík is spread across a peninsula with a panoramic view of the mountains and the Atlantic. It is an international city with a lively cosmopolitan cultural scene surrounded by beautiful nature.
SEEDS participants will stay in a house in Reykjavík. The facilities are basic with a kitchen, showers, and a washing machine. Everyone is expected to show consideration for their companions. Participants will sleep in shared rooms or dormitories. Please bring your own sleeping bag. Volunteers will receive food supplies and will be in charge of cooking and cleaning. Please note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music, games or movies from your country for the intercultural evening. Please be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.
Participation fee EUR 350 (Euros). The fee can either be transferred in advance via bank transfer, or paid in cash on arrival. The fee includes transportation from the meeting point to the camp (on the first day and one trip combined with the trash collection activity (Hot River or Reykjanes). Meeting time will be 18:00 (6:00 pm) on April 25 at SEEDS’ office in Reykjavík. Participants that cannot arrive on time (later or delayed flights) will be sent information on how to reach the camp on their own. Some excursions (e.g. to the Golden Circle and/or South Shore) can be arranged at discount fares if there is free time after the camp workshops/sessions. Weather may be cold or rainy, so we recommend bringing warm and/or waterproof clothes) and good walking shoes, as some of the activities take place outdoors.
Meeting time will be 18:00 (6:00 pm) on April 25 at SEEDS’ office in Reykjavík. Participants that cannot arrive on time (later or delayed flights) will be sent information on how to reach the camp on their own.

Alpakaland will be an animal-assisted healing space where Ukrainian refugee children can be psychologically rehabilitated in a smaller community. It will officially open its doors on 11th May 2024, with the first children's camp starting in early June. Our task is to complete all the work needed to get the environment ready for camping by the time it opens. These are: - simple construction of slats and metal fences and their painting, - interior works: assistance with plastering and tiling, wall painting, - erection of large tents according to assembly instructions, - landscaping (spade, shovel, wheelbarrow), - gardening (flower planting, plant care, mowing), - simple assembly of animal runs, - assembling wooden playgrounds and painting wood, - decorating for the opening.
Migration Aid on top of running a refugee transit hostel and Ukrainian school in Budapest, Hungary aim to create a space where children can be psychologically rehabilitated. In this regard, they devote a special role to animal-assisted healing spaces. As the first test Migration Aid bought in Esztergályhorváti (countryside of Hungary) an empty, but utility-filled plot, on which there are currently only many trees. In an area of about 3 thousand square meters on the outskirts of the village, they plan to build 4-5 Green Shelter homes (suitable for 16-20 people), so the animal-assisted therapy space can help 300-500 affected children and their parents annually, counting on 2-week cycles.
The camp will take place right next to the "small Balaton" with an amazing landscape. Balaton is close to enjoying the lake, and Hévíz and Zalaegerszeg are the nearest cities with options for gastronomy and cultural programs. Although be prepared Esztergályoshorváti is a very tiny village with 414 residents.
Volunteers will live in the community centre of the village. There will be space inside the centre for half of the group (around 6 volunteers) and the other half (6 volunteers) will sleep in tents. MigAid will provide tents and sleeping bags. Camp leaders and volunteers will self-organise the breakfast and dinner, food will be provided. We will order lunch from the next village for each day.
Please fill out this additional short application form as well: https://form.jotform.com/egyesek/alpakaland
Keszthely train and bus station (it is the same) at 7 pm and 9 pm on the 26th of April, from where the host will bring with a minibus the team in two turns to Esztergályoshorváti. If you arrive by plane in Budapest you have to go to the Déli train station (ca. 1 hour with 100E airport bus and M2 metro), where we suggest reaching a train to Keszthely at 4.35 pm or 6.35 pm. The train from Budapest to Keszthely takes 2,5 hours.
No specific experience is required for this work. The volunteer work will be both lighter and heavier physical work, so feasible for girls and boys equally. There will be an initial discussion to decide which activities will be carried out by the different groups.

Preserving the beautiful beech forests and enjoy your stay in beautiful rural area where is famous for tasty sea foods!
Work will be carried out in two locations, Ajigasawa and Hiranai. In Ajigasawa, volunteers will remove the snow fence of Shirakami Nature School, putting up a plastic greenhouse, chopping firewood, and digging and transport new saplings at the nursery. In Hiranai, work is carried out to remove dead saplings and replant new ones. The contents of work might be changed due to weather condition, so volunteers need to be flexible! Volunteers will get knowledge of history and culture of Shirakami-Sanchi World Heritage, and skills of conservation forests in Japan.
This project is actively working for SDG13 (Climate Action) and SDGs 15 (Life on Land), organized together with Shirakami Mountains Preservation Society (SMPS), since 2006. The Shirakami Mountains is one of Japanese valuable preserved natural forests consisting primarily of beech trees, registered as a World Natural Heritage in 1993. SMPS aims to preserve the natural beauty of the Shirakami Mountains by nurturing seedlings of beech trees, planting them, training mountain guide, etc. SMPS hosts tree-planting ceremony every June for preserving beech forests and promoting the value. They also preserve the forests near the Mutsu-bay, famous as production of scallops. Due to climate change, the sea water temperature increased abnormally in 2010, the most of scallops were dead, so SMPS started to preserve the forest there to let nutrient water flow to the ocean.
Location:Volunteers will work in Ajigasawa town and Hiranai town in Aomori prefecture. Aomori is located on the northernmost tip of Honshu Island. Shirakami Mountains located in southwest and the Mutsu-bay nestles between the eastern Shimokita and western Tsugaru Peninsulas. This is the good season for cherry blossom-viewing there. In this workcamp, volunteers doesn't have chance to go to Shirakamisanchi world heritage place. Leisure: Enjoy rich nature around accommodation, taking a walk at morning, hot spring, etc.
Shared room in school dormitory. Sleeping bag is needed! Meals will be cooked by volunteers by turns.
Volunteers should be prepared to work hard outside in good and bad weather and have high motivation for work in the forests actively with local people
The nearest international airport is Tokyo (NRT or HND) from which it takes 7 hours by bullet train and local train or 10 hours by night bus and local train to the meeting point in Aomori pref. Vols. need to arrive at NRT or HND by 18:00 on Apr. 26 and can leave there after 22:00 on May 03. It is better to book flight on or after May 04.

Organized together with NICE (Never-ending International workCamps Exchange) and supported by Greening Asia fund since 2002. The forest problem is serious also in Mongolia. Before 1990, the forests covered 10% of the land, but 7% today. It's caused by cutting trees without any control, forest fire, and global warming. Another side takes a long time to grow trees in Mongolia and May and the middle of October is the only season to plant trees in Mongolia.
We will plant trees in Mongolian workCamps Exchange`s camp and some other places. This is the only season in Mongolia to plant trees. There are increasing activities by some organizations to plant trees but it takes a hundred or more years to be grown, so we should also join this movement by global power! Part of Greening Asia. Any good experiences for tree planting and the future plan of international workcamps in Mongolia and Greening Asia.
MCE was established on January 11th, 2001 by an individual who had participated in the 3rd Training & Networking Workcamp of NVDA in Vietnam. Before 2000, there were no workcamp organizations or international voluntary service in Mongolia. However, there was much need for international voluntary projects to improve a Mongolian society. Through practical work projects, MCE hopes to encourage public awareness of Mongolia’s social problems and promote local actions. We promote exciting voluntary actions by fresh ideas and mobility as a youth NPO, to shift the world with too much competition and expansion into more healthy one for both nature and people. We create opportunities to meet new people and to start new actions by involving many locals. We make bridges between isolated NPOs and local people, and invite youth to depopulated areas. We grow exchange naturally among world youth and local people through living, working, talking and laughing together. They can improve global views/ sensitivity and language/ planning skills.

The fee includes transportation from the meeting point to the camp (on the first day and one trip combined with the trash collection activity (Hot River or Reykjanes). Meeting time will be 18:00 (6:00 pm) on May 5 at SEEDS’ office in Reykjavík. Alliksaare Farm s main direction is horse breeding. At the moment there are around 150 horses on the farm. The work is diverse: it is to take care and maintain the pastures located by the sea - clearing around the pastures, building or removing fences, repairing fences, cleaning the stable. Another work is cleaning the coast nearby the farm from rubbish brought by storms. There can be some work for preparing food for horses for a winter time. But the most important work is with horses directly - taking care of them and to train horses. We have horses of any age, but mostly young horses, so depending on your experience and willingness to learn, it is possible to learn how to take care and train horses of all ages. For example socializing and training foals, halter train yearlings and saddle and/or carriage train young horses. The work will be mainly outdoors. Working time is 6-7 hours a day. Work will be done under some supervision and guidance of the local host but also quite a lot independently.
Hiiumaa, according to the Nordic sagas, emerged from the Baltic Sea as a small islet more than 10 000 years ago. The island of Hiiumaa was first mentioned in historical documents as a deserted island called Dageida in 1228. The first inhabitants settled down at the end of the 13th century. Nowadays, Hiiumaa is the second biggest island of Estonia with an area of 965 sq. km and a population of around 9 000. It has many historical and nature sights, and there are kind people known for their hospitality and good sense of humor. The island is referred to as a remote area of Europe, and EstYES feels particularly proud developing international voluntary projects for over twenty years there. EstYES has been cooperating with eco-farms all over Estonia for solidarity and practical support to local people who work in the agricultural sector keeping traditional lifestyle and developing new eco-farming despite all difficulties. Alliksaare Farm on Hiiumaa Island is one of such projects. This is an organic farm promoting sustainable lifestyle, and this camp is proposed for volunteers who appreciate and share its values, want to learn more about it and to help hard working people. Alliksaare Farm breeds an endangered breed of horses called Estonian Native horses. The school was founded in 2016 and the pupils enrolment is 444 pupils, 226 boys and 218 girls. The school has 15 teachers teaching right from the early childhood education, primary school and junior primary school. The school has 6 permanent and 4 semi-permanent classrooms, staffroom and an administration block. The school is located on 0.9 acres that has adequate room for expansion. It is located in a densely populated area in Vihiga county of Western Kenya, an area that receives rainfall throughout the year and hence the local community members are food sufficient as the communal land is utilized for small-scale agriculture that is the foremost economic driver of the people at the grassroots. THEME: Girl child education Girls’ education goes beyond getting girls into school. It is also about ensuring that girls learn and feel safe while in school; complete all levels of education with the skills to effectively compete in the labor market; learn the socio-emotional and life skills necessary to navigate and adapt to a changing world; make decisions about their own lives; and contribute to their communities and the world. Girls’ education is a strategic development priority. Better-educated women tend to be healthier, participate more in the formal labor market, earn higher incomes, have fewer children, marry at a later age, and enable better health care and education for their children, should they choose to become mothers. All these factors combined can help lift households, communities, and nations out of poverty. According to UNESCO estimates, 130 million girls between the age of 6 and 17 are out of school and 15 million girls of primary-school age— half of them in sub-Saharan Africa— will never enter a classroom. Poverty remains the most important factor for determining whether a girl can access an education. For example, in Nigeria, only 4 percent of poor young women in the North West zone can read, compared with 99 percent of rich young women in the South East. Studies consistently reinforce that girls who face multiple disadvantages — such as low family income, living in remote or underserved locations, disability or belonging to a minority ethno-linguistic group — are farthest behind in terms of access to and completion of education. Violence also negatively impact access to education and a safe environment for learning. For example, in Haiti, recent research highlights that one in three Haitian women (ages 15 to 49) has experienced physical and/or sexual violence, and that of women who received money for sex before turning 18 years old, 27 percent reported schools to be the most common location for solicitation. Child marriage is also a critical challenge. Child brides are much more likely to drop out of school and complete fewer years of education than their peers who marry later. This affects the education and health of their children, as well as their ability to earn a living. According to a recent report, more than 41,000 girls under the age of 18 marry every day and putting an end to the practice would increase women’s expected educational attainment, and with it, their potential earnings. According to estimates, ending child marriage could generate more than $500 billion in benefits annually each year Every day, girls face barriers to education caused by poverty, cultural norms and practices, poor infrastructure, violence, and fragility. The WBG has joined with governments, civil society organizations, multilateral organization, the private sector, and donors to advance multi-sectoral approaches to overcome these challenges. Working together with girls and women, the WBG focus includes: Providing conditional cash transfers, stipends or scholarships; Reducing distance to school; Targeting boys and men to be a part of discussions about cultural and societal practices; Ensuring gender-sensitive curricula and pedagogies; Hiring and training qualified female teachers; Building safe and inclusive learning environments for girls and young women; Ending child/early marriage; and Addressing violence against girls and women

PHASE ONE: PREPARATION During this phase, the festival is taking form, as we build it up from the ground, starting from the basics as tents and practical stuff, and finishing off with the small final details. Every year we come up with new ideas and plans, we need to decorate the whole area, and that includes building graffiti walls, painting signs, and placing items around the festival. There will of course be a lot of time in the beginning to get to know each other. PHASE TWO: THE FESTIVAL This phase is the most stressful but also the most fun! In this phase of the festival, we invite all our beautiful guests to the festival we created in the last couple of days. There will be shifts for every volunteer in different locations, such as the entrance, festival area, cleaning toilets, and other jobs. There will of course be space for a lot of fun and just vibing. PHASE THREE: CLEANING This phase starts already Sunday morning when the guests begin to return home, as we pack everything down. This mostly takes us all of Sunday, so there will be time to pack up and say goodbye on Monday. FREETIME: Since the camp is so short there will be no days off. The closer we get to the start of the festival there would be more to do. Working hours from Tuesday till Thursday will be from 10:00 in the morning till 20:00. Friday and Saturday there will only be a few shifts we have to cover, and the rest is time off, where you can meet Danish people and experience our festival.

The area is close to the sea, and it is a bit out in the countryside. The area is an old military missile launcher site, but it’s empty except for two garages we use. The event is at the start of May, and therefore it can be good to bring some nice fleeces and cozy clothing when you’re going to be outside all day!
Sleeping + bathroom facilities: The festival has a sleeping area, where during the actual festival days, the guests and the volunteers will sleep in tents. We will also sleep in that area on the days leading up to the festival days. We can provide tents for you. You just need to bring sleeping bags and an air mattress or similar. Let us know if you need anything, we can maybe lend you it. We will have a trailer bathroom available for you. Meals + kitchen facilities: The food will be made by our food and drink provider Jens! He owns the nearby restaurant and will ensure you have plenty of food for all activities until the festival begins, where there will then be food stands.
Language English will be the only language spoken. All participants must be willing to speak English, even though they are from the same country or have trouble with the English language. Try your best! It is very important for us, to get volunteers that are creative, and who can take initiative. We are looking for volunteers who are independent and will contribute to the project with innovative ideas.

This project is actively working for SDG 1 (No poverty) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with Green Volunteers for Green Future (GV4GF) since 2012 (since 2023 in this place!). Total area was a tea plantation until Independence (in 1948) and after that government took the administration. Some parts were abandoned and some parts distributed among people. This is a kind of traditional village; some families are living here more than 100 years. Agriculture and Tea plantation is the main livelihoods in this area. People who have no lands to cultivate are engaging other domestic livelihoods such as, packeting and distribute spices, mushroom plantation etc. Very few people are working at the city or for government. This area is not a popular destination among the locals or foreigners because of difficulty to access common facilities. After covid pandemic community are trying to reestablish their agricultural work and other livelihoods. Not only pandemic, but also economic crisis impacted every sector in Sri Lanka. These sectors are trying to reestablish their own work but they need external assistances to continue their work. We are going to help domestic level livelihoods running by villagers. While visiting community, volunteers can experience real life of Sri Lanka and experience the nature of the local life. Community can get awareness about lifestyle of developed countries that they cannot experienced in their local lives.
Located at 134km from Colombo. This is a rural area and located among mountains. 620m above sea level. People are mainly depending on agriculture. It is close to ancient kingdoms called Kandy (24km).
This area has beautiful landscapes, mountains, ancient temple etc. Some tea plantations and man-made forests plots also can be seen here. Mornings will be devoted to renovating the association's premises. On the programme, you'll be repainting the interiors of this recently renovated building and helping to make it a warm and welcoming place. You'll also be lending a hand with the overall project for this third place Ecocycle, a collective space for sharing, through its shared gardens and participatory workshops.
Nestled in the hollow of a green valley, the town of St Amand de Coly is located in the heart of the Périgord Noir, a territory rich in history! Composed of two former municipalities that decided to join forces to form one. The town is home to the Ecocycle association, a third place that is developing a participatory activity project in Saint Amand de Coly and the surrounding area. These activities are strongly influenced by concerns about climate change. You will help the association and its volunteers to prepare the building to welcome its members. You'll discover the local people's sense of welcome and the charm of the countryside and heritage, as you work with the other volunteers to organise your programme of activities.
Coly - St Amand is located in Périgord Noir, 10 km from the caves of Lascaux, between Périgueux and Brive. Leisure activities: Site visits, nature activities, you will build your own entertainment program with the leaders and the other participants. We favour a discovery of the territory and these actors over consumption activities.
You will be welcomed at the Vieux logis de Saint Amand. Sleeping accommodation in rooms of 2 to 3 people. Meals will be cooked and eaten collectively, so you can take it in turns to prepare some tasty dishes, so come along with your own recipes.
You will have to take a train to Condat-Le Lardin (2 hours from Bordeaux and 4 hours from Toulouse). The leaders will meet you at Condat-Le Lardin train station in the end of the afternoon.
