Alliksaare Farm s main direction is horse breeding. At the moment there are around 150 horses on the farm. The work is diverse: it is to take care and maintain the pastures located by the sea - clearing around the pastures, building or removing fences, repairing fences, cleaning the stable. Another work is cleaning the coast nearby the farm from rubbish brought by storms. There can be some work for preparing food for horses for a winter time. But the most important work is with horses directly - taking care of them and to train horses. We have horses of any age, but mostly young horses, so depending on your experience and willingness to learn, it is possible to learn how to take care and train horses of all ages. For example socializing and training foals, halter train yearlings and saddle and/or carriage train young horses. The work will be mainly outdoors. Working time is 6-7 hours a day. Work will be done under some supervision and guidance of the local host but also quite a lot independently.
Hiiumaa, according to the Nordic sagas, emerged from the Baltic Sea as a small islet more than 10 000 years ago. The island of Hiiumaa was first mentioned in historical documents as a deserted island called Dageida in 1228. The first inhabitants settled down at the end of the 13th century. Nowadays, Hiiumaa is the second biggest island of Estonia with an area of 965 sq. km and a population of around 9 000. It has many historical and nature sights, and there are kind people known for their hospitality and good sense of humor. The island is referred to as a remote area of Europe, and EstYES feels particularly proud developing international voluntary projects for over twenty years there. EstYES has been cooperating with eco-farms all over Estonia for solidarity and practical support to local people who work in the agricultural sector keeping traditional lifestyle and developing new eco-farming despite all difficulties. Alliksaare Farm on Hiiumaa Island is one of such projects. This is an organic farm promoting sustainable lifestyle, and this camp is proposed for volunteers who appreciate and share its values, want to learn more about it and to help hard working people. Alliksaare Farm breeds an endangered breed of horses called Estonian Native horses. Alliksaare Farm also has an important task taking care of coastal meadows which are international birds migration area under protection of NATURA Program.Video of past camp https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEAc2Sch6f8

The school was founded in 2016 and the pupils enrolment is 444 pupils, 226 boys and 218 girls. The school has 15 teachers teaching right from the early childhood education, primary school and junior primary school. The school has 6 permanent and 4 semi-permanent classrooms, staffroom and an administration block. The school is located on 0.9 acres that has adequate room for expansion. It is located in a densely populated area in Vihiga county of Western Kenya, an area that receives rainfall throughout the year and hence the local community members are food sufficient as the communal land is utilized for small-scale agriculture that is the foremost economic driver of the people at the grassroots. THEME: Girl child education Girls’ education goes beyond getting girls into school. It is also about ensuring that girls learn and feel safe while in school; complete all levels of education with the skills to effectively compete in the labor market; learn the socio-emotional and life skills necessary to navigate and adapt to a changing world; make decisions about their own lives; and contribute to their communities and the world. Girls’ education is a strategic development priority. Better-educated women tend to be healthier, participate more in the formal labor market, earn higher incomes, have fewer children, marry at a later age, and enable better health care and education for their children, should they choose to become mothers. All these factors combined can help lift households, communities, and nations out of poverty. According to UNESCO estimates, 130 million girls between the age of 6 and 17 are out of school and 15 million girls of primary-school age— half of them in sub-Saharan Africa— will never enter a classroom. Poverty remains the most important factor for determining whether a girl can access an education. For example, in Nigeria, only 4 percent of poor young women in the North West zone can read, compared with 99 percent of rich young women in the South East. Studies consistently reinforce that girls who face multiple disadvantages — such as low family income, living in remote or underserved locations, disability or belonging to a minority ethno-linguistic group — are farthest behind in terms of access to and completion of education. Violence also negatively impact access to education and a safe environment for learning. For example, in Haiti, recent research highlights that one in three Haitian women (ages 15 to 49) has experienced physical and/or sexual violence, and that of women who received money for sex before turning 18 years old, 27 percent reported schools to be the most common location for solicitation. Child marriage is also a critical challenge. Child brides are much more likely to drop out of school and complete fewer years of education than their peers who marry later. This affects the education and health of their children, as well as their ability to earn a living. According to a recent report, more than 41,000 girls under the age of 18 marry every day and putting an end to the practice would increase women’s expected educational attainment, and with it, their potential earnings. According to estimates, ending child marriage could generate more than $500 billion in benefits annually each year Every day, girls face barriers to education caused by poverty, cultural norms and practices, poor infrastructure, violence, and fragility. The WBG has joined with governments, civil society organizations, multilateral organization, the private sector, and donors to advance multi-sectoral approaches to overcome these challenges. Working together with girls and women, the WBG focus includes: Providing conditional cash transfers, stipends or scholarships; Reducing distance to school; Targeting boys and men to be a part of discussions about cultural and societal practices; Ensuring gender-sensitive curricula and pedagogies; Hiring and training qualified female teachers; Building safe and inclusive learning environments for girls and young women; Ending child/early marriage; and Addressing violence against girls and women
Manual work and Intercultural activities: Teaching Playing with children Sand harvesting Sensitization on the effects of female Genital Mutilation (FGM) to the children, parents and the entire community Empowering the vulnerable in society with focus on children Promotion of safe male circumcision Home visits to the orphans and the vulnerable in society Inter-cultural education to foster global cooperation

PHASE ONE: PREPARATION During this phase, the festival is taking form, as we build it up from the ground, starting from the basics as tents and practical stuff, and finishing off with the small final details. Every year we come up with new ideas and plans, we need to decorate the whole area, and that includes building graffiti walls, painting signs, and placing items around the festival. There will of course be a lot of time in the beginning to get to know each other. PHASE TWO: THE FESTIVAL This phase is the most stressful but also the most fun! In this phase of the festival, we invite all our beautiful guests to the festival we created in the last couple of days. There will be shifts for every volunteer in different locations, such as the entrance, festival area, cleaning toilets, and other jobs. There will of course be space for a lot of fun and just vibing. PHASE THREE: CLEANING This phase starts already Sunday morning when the guests begin to return home, as we pack everything down. This mostly takes us all of Sunday, so there will be time to pack up and say goodbye on Monday. FREETIME: Since the camp is so short there will be no days off. The closer we get to the start of the festival there would be more to do. Working hours from Tuesday till Thursday will be from 10:00 in the morning till 20:00. Friday and Saturday there will only be a few shifts we have to cover, and the rest is time off, where you can meet Danish people and experience our festival.

The area is close to the sea, and it is a bit out in the countryside. The area is an old military missile launcher site, but it’s empty except for two garages we use. The event is at the start of May, and therefore it can be good to bring some nice fleeces and cozy clothing when you’re going to be outside all day!
Sleeping + bathroom facilities: The festival has a sleeping area, where during the actual festival days, the guests and the volunteers will sleep in tents. We will also sleep in that area on the days leading up to the festival days. We can provide tents for you. You just need to bring sleeping bags and an air mattress or similar. Let us know if you need anything, we can maybe lend you it. We will have a trailer bathroom available for you. Meals + kitchen facilities: The food will be made by our food and drink provider Jens! He owns the nearby restaurant and will ensure you have plenty of food for all activities until the festival begins, where there will then be food stands.
Language English will be the only language spoken. All participants must be willing to speak English, even though they are from the same country or have trouble with the English language. Try your best! It is very important for us, to get volunteers that are creative, and who can take initiative. We are looking for volunteers who are independent and will contribute to the project with innovative ideas.
Meeting Point and Time: Store Heddinge St. May 7th between 13:00-15:00. This camp allows volunteers to learn about global and local environmental issues through non-formal educational activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits, as well as to contribute directly to environmental protection by joining outdoor coastal cleanup tasks in the shores and beaches. Additional work will be undertaken in the area of our accommodation such as removing old fences dangerous to wildlife and visitors, as well as helping with renovation and maintenance of the house. We may also be marking some walking paths and, depending on the advance of the mentioned tasks, volunteers might do some forestry tasks in a small forest planted in the area, like trimming the vegetation or planting some trees. This camp combines learning, sharing, hands-on work and fun. No previous experience is needed. Volunteers should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and be ready to spend time outdoors, walking during the cleanups. Volunteers should be ready to adapt and be flexible with the work and free-time schedule, as depending on the weather, we may not be able to perform some of the planned activities.
The Awareness, Engagement and Action project is part of a series of camps organised by SEEDS in cooperation with different partners, where we try to raise awareness about current environmental issues and encourage the volunteers to take action One of our main goals for the next few years is to contribute to a nation-wide project aiming at cleaning up the Icelandic coastline. SEEDS works along and supports the Icelandic ministry for Environment and Natural Resources, the Icelandic Environmental organisation Landvernd, the Environmental Agency of Iceland, Umhverfisstofnun and other partners in order to draw attention to the issues of ocean pollution, plastic waste and to engage volunteers in cleaning up actions around the country. Nestled in the hollow of a green valley, the town of St Amand de Coly is located in the heart of the Périgord Noir, a territory rich in history! Composed of two former municipalities that decided to join forces to form one. The town is home to the Ecocycle association, a third place that is developing a participatory activity project in Saint Amand de Coly and the surrounding area. These activities are strongly influenced by concerns about climate change. You will help the association and its volunteers to prepare the building to welcome its members. You'll discover the local people's sense of welcome and the charm of the countryside and heritage, as you work with the other volunteers to organise your programme of activities.
Coly - St Amand is located in Périgord Noir, 10 km from the caves of Lascaux, between Périgueux and Brive. Leisure activities: Site visits, nature activities, you will build your own entertainment program with the leaders and the other participants. Come and enjoy the exceptional setting of the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc valley. In summer and winter alike, the Chamonix Youth Hostel welcomes many tourists who take advantage of their stay to discover the beauty of the surrounding nature and enjoy outdoor activities. The hostel is keen to offer facilities that reflect its values, and has joined forces with the Mont-Blanc fermes pédagogiques association to bring you this project. These two organisations work hand in hand to raise awareness of agricultural values: their aim is to set up an educational micro-farm at the hostel. You'll be taking part in the creation of a henhouse, a cabin for the animals, and the creation of paddocks for grazing. This work camp will be an opportunity to think about what food we produce and how. No specific skills are required. If you're interested in preserving the mountain environment and enjoy working as part of a team, this is the project for you.
For the past three years, Concordia has been working with the youth hostel network on volunteer projects. This partnership is being developed this year with a new project at the Chamonix site. Thomas, the hostel manager, wanted to strengthen the international and intercultural dimension of his business by welcoming a group of volunteers. The environmental dimension is also an issue at the heart of the priorities of tourism, which is evolving under the impact of climate change. The youth hostel is in partnership with the Mont-Blanc fermes pédagogiques association, which aims to introduce certain sections of the public to the rudiments of balanced systems from field to plate, and to raise awareness among as many people as possible of sustainable production methods, permacultural market gardening and the treatment of small livestock.
The youth hostel is located at the foot of the Bosson glaciers, facing the Aiguille du Midi, so you'll have plenty to see during your stay! Just 600 meters from the accommodation, you'll find all the basic amenities (mini-market, market, restaurants, etc.). Chamonix town center is 2.5km away, within easy walking distance. There are plenty of outdoor activities to choose from: sports, nature and cultural activities to suit all tastes.
You will be accommodated in the Youth Hostel, in dormitories with individual beds.Toilets and showers will be on the landing. Together, you'll help to organise community life (cleaning, activities, etc.) and take it in turns to prepare meals using locally sourced produce. Our aim is to encourage vegetarian eating using local, seasonal produce, while respecting participants diets and discovering local cuisine together. You'll be rubbing shoulders with the guests of the youth hostel, which will strengthen the exchange of experiences. The hostel has Wifi in the communal areas.

The Chamonix Youth Hostel is accessible from Lyon, Marseille and Paris by bus or train. Meet late afternoon at the Chamonix bus station (a 20-minute walk from the hostel) or at the "Les Pelerins" train station (a 9-minute walk from the hostel). Train reservations can be made approximately 4 months before departure on the SNCF website, link below: https://www.sncf-connect.com/
Don't forget to bring work clothes and shoes resistant to dirt. In the mountains, despite the sunshine, the weather is surprising and can change rapidly. For leisure activities, you'll need to pack clothes suited to the climate (warm fleece or jumper, shorts and hiking trousers, windbreaker, down jacket, warm socks, etc.). For hiking, high-top, notched shoes are recommended. Don't forget sun protection (a hat or cap is essential, sunglasses with a high protection factor because of the intense reflection, sun cream with a high protection factor IP 30-50, etc.) and a swimming costume for swimming or white-water activities. For your accommodation, remember to bring a towel and a pair of flip-flops for when you move around the youth hostel. You should also bring a backpack (in addition to your luggage) and comfortable trainers. You'll also need to pack the following essential accessories: a mobile phone charger, hiking poles (not compulsory, but recommended), a water bottle, a set of bandages and a headlamp or torch. Social events will be organised in collaboration with our coordinators and according to your wishes. In particular, we will be organising themed evenings for each country. If you would like to share a little of your culture (recipes, traditional stories, unusual objects, music, etc.), don't hesitate to take a little piece of your country/region in your backpack.

You will take care of several sculptures on the path and restore them to their original state. Weather and people have left their mark: The stone of the sculptures needs to be brushed to remove moss and lichen, and some sculptures are also sprayed with graffiti. For others, the subsurface needs to be renewed or maintained. The explanatory plates for the objects will also be replaced. In addition, you will completely renew the barbecue area, which is part of the 9km long trail. This area is intended to invite people to combine arts, nature and community.
Over water - over land: this is the name of Europe's first cross-border sculpture trail. In 2000, twelve internationally renowned artists realised ideas and thoughts on the theme of borders - dividing and uniting - in sculptures. Embedded in the marvellous landscape of the High Rhine, this path is a cultural symbol of friendship and connects the places on both sides of the river and the German- Swiss border. Now, almost 25 years after its construction, the sculpture trail needs some maintenance. The citizens of Hohentengen would therefore be delighted if this could be done with the help of international volunteers completely in the spirit of the path's artistic message.
Hohentengen am Hochrhein lies in the south of Germany, in a kind of bubble surrounded on three sides by Switzerland. Only the Rhine separates the village from Switzerland. The village offers unspoilt nature, numerous sports and leisure facilities (beach volleyball, swimming pools, water sports ...). Mountain ranges on the northern edge of the municipality, the Rhine Valley opens up to the south, the Rhine glistens in the plain and the Alps in Switzerland greet you on the horizon when visibility is good. With its 3,600 inhabitants, Hohentengen offers the entire infrastructure you could wish for: supermarkets, shops, pubs and much more.
You will be accommodated in the local multipurpose hall in the centre of the village which is otherwise used for sports and events. This offers plenty of space, a small kitchen and enough sanitary facilities for everyone. Camp beds are provided.. Please bring your own sleeping bag and pillow (if required). Your group of volunteers will be responsible for grocery shopping and cooking together. The food will be bought with the camp budget and everybody will take turns for cooking, washing the dishes and cleaning. In order to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet, we encourage volunteers to reduce meat and try more sustainable dishes.
