We are looking for Mural Artists to join a very special art and social project. The volunteers will paint walls in a small municipallity together with locals. Due to Covid 19 loneliness has generated a significant increase in senile dementia, reduced mobility, depression and dependency among vulnerable populations. Also many people have serious injures that need to be cure by rehabilitation. Therefore we want to create brither and colourful spacel to become open spaces but above all an opportunity for social relations and the dissemination of healthy practices and healthy living. The volunteers will have an opportunity to live and paint together in a group of people of different nationalities, so they can learn many interesting things from each other and raise their level of cultural tolerance. Also, it's a great experience of working in a team, especially an international one. It's a project where you can show all your artistic talents and creativity where everyone will learn from each other. PARTICIPANT PROFILE: We are looking for young people who have good skills as painter and designer.
It is an ESC project that allows volunteers from other countries without the support from EU funding. Some months ago we did a version that was supported as a volunteering team in high priority area project. The project is hosted by De Amicitia and organized in collaboration with local organizations
Sanet is a small town in the southwest of Spain close to Dénia (Comunidad de Valencia) in beautiful countryside, surrounded by hills which are great for hiking - there are a lot of hiking trails to discover. There is a local swimming pool available and Dénia is only 5 minutes by car. The house is located right in the middle of town, so there are great opportunities to interact and socialize with the locals and to truly experience the Spanish countryside. Furthermore, the volunteers can make excursions to Ondara and El Vergel, local towns close to Sanet. The surrounding villages like Benimelli and Ràfol d'Almunia can also be visited. There will also be day trips to the beach which is about 15 minutes by car from Sanet.
The project will be develope in Denia and other towns nearby but volunteers will stay in a house in Sanet i Negrals (Alicante). First days will be used to prepare sketches and for group dynamics, and therefore the group will stay mainly at this house to be able to create. During the following days, they will be travelling to the activity place, if the work is finished they will help painting our house or other walls. Food expenses are covered by De Amicitia. The volunteers are meant to cook their meals.
Interview will be required

The young people participating in the project form a heterogeneous group of diverse origins and socio-economic realities, which enriches not only the project participants but also the volunteering process and the proposal for intervention in patron saint festivities in the San Fermín neighborhood. , thus impacting all the neighbors in the neighborhood. Specific objectives: - Offer an alternative for Leisure and Community Participation to young people in vulnerable situations. - Create spaces for meeting and cultural exchange between the participants of the work camp and these with the entities, groups of the south-east area of Madrid - Prepare a program of cultural and leisure activities that complement the San Fermín Neighborhood Festival program.
The San Fermín Project Association, in collaboration with the San Fermín Neighborhood Association and in coordination with Social Services of Usera and entities and services that intervene in the neighborhood, has prepared a report on the situation of 430 homes in the San Fermín neighborhood, more specifically in the Zona de la Perla, an area with extensive socio-economic problems and in which neighborhood conflicts and coexistence problems have been festering in recent years. This report highlights the serious problems arising from very diverse aspects, ranging from behavior as tenants, neighborhood coexistence, the situation of social exclusion, and the fall to the bottom of the stigmatized space itself. It confirms what lack of intervention entails in an area that has brought together a population of excessively diverse origins: such as rehousing of very diverse types, substandard housing, etc.; without having tissue that relates it, nor a socialization process as a habitat; with a multiform ethnic-social origin that continues to increase; with serious deficiencies not only in the family but also in the socialization process and community coexistence. Based on this analysis, the diagnostic report defines an urban space marked by four items: Deterioration - Unemployment - Uprooting - Eviction. From here, a comprehensive intervention plan is proposed that includes 5 fundamental lines of work: Urban intervention. Training and Employment. Socio-educational Intervention. Community intervention and neighborhood mediation Transverse.
The neighborhood is bounded by the Manzanares River to the east, the M-30 and the south junction to the north, Avenida de Andalucía and the Orcasur neighborhood to the west, and the M-40 highway and the super-south junction to the south. In the volunteer camp, not everything is work, and you will have the opportunity to enjoy leisure and free time activities: • Visit to the historic center and other tourist attractions in Madrid, such as the intercultural district of Lavapiés, the Debod Temple, Plaza España, Gran Vía and La Latina. • Visits to the Prado and Reina Sofía museums, and the Royal Palace. • Excursion to Toledo: Sephardic Museum, Toledo Cathedral, Taller de Moro, El Greco Museum.
