You will definitely be a part of history that fought for their nature in this area. Work will be divided into cleaning and marking of two paths that lead up to the highest point of Stara planina ("The old mountain" in Serbian) as well as the local natural swimming pool "Zenski vir". Also, you will help to clean the spot for creating small picnic area at the end of the first path, at the top, where the view on the surroundings is magnificent. Taking care of the river will also be your task during these days. Second part will be the support of organizing the festival for nature lovers - arranging the centre of village, setting up the stage and info counters while on the day of the festival, volunteers will support the workers in handing out flyers and in the whole production.
The association "I love Topli Do" aims to preserve nature and develop Stara Planina and nurture the spirit of freedom of the people of Stara Planina. "I love Topli Do" is a community of people who love the beauty of untouched nature, Topli Do and Stara planina. Our wish is to protect Topli Do as a natural oasis of freedom for nature and people. To encourage the development of tourism and a healthy way of life and thinking in Serbia. One of the goals of the association is to prevent the village from dying further, by restoring new life through various projects. The association brings together Toplodolci (people born in Topli Do and those who trace their origins to this village), but also includes Toplodolstvo - friends and enthusiasts from all over Serbia and the region. United, we want to renew life in the countryside and return to tradition and untouched nature in order to seek inspiration and energy for modern challenges. Young Researchers of Serbia (YRS) was founded in 1976. Our main aims are environmental protection and education, promotion of sustainable development, work with young people in an international context, promotion of scientific creativity and voluntarism and its values. Voluntary Service of Serbia is a volunteer exchange service center founded in 1990 as one of the sectors of YRS.
The village Topli Do is about an hour's drive from Pirot. Topli Do, one of the most remote villages of the municipality of Pirot, is located in the Stara planina nature park under its highest peak, Midzor (2,169m). It is located in the Stara Planina Nature Park. The village is one of the most authentic villages on Stara planina. Only 7 km from the village is the peak Babin zub (1,759 m) and the famous ski resort Jabučko ravnište on Stara planina. The village is reached from the direction of the village of Temska and you pass through the canyon of the river Temštica ("Little Colorado"), certainly one of the most beautiful and attractive canyons of this type in Serbia. What makes Topli Do and its surroundings stand out from other old mountain villages is the abundance of waterfalls, unique in many ways in Serbia. A special attraction about 4 km from the village is the Piljski waterfall - 64 m. About 8 km from the village there is another interesting waterfall, Kurtulski waterfall - 27 m.
Accommodation for volunteers will be provided in the adapted building of the agricultural cooperative "Topli Do" - the mountain lodge Topli Do. Accommodation is provided for volunteers in two four-bed rooms. Sleeping is on military beds, blankets and bedding are provided. The building of the mountain lodge itself is a village building adapted for these purposes and is used as a lodge for adventurers and mountaineers throughout the year. The home has a toilet, a bathroom and a shower with hot water. Our local partner, the "Stojanovic" farm, prepares meals for volunteers and other festival participants during the camp and the festival. Meals will be served in the canteen on the premises of the agricultural cooperative Topli Do.
Please keep in mind that the nights can be cold in the mountains. Also, it is good to have raincoat in case of heavy rain, that can happen in this area. Hiking boots are preferable, but even strong, working shoes can do it.
Closest airport terminal is in Nis from where low coast airlines have connections with several European cities. However much better connections have Belgrade and Sofia. From Belgrade you can go by bus directly to Pirot or firstly to Nis, and after that to Pirot. From Sofia airport you can catch a bus to Nis and then continue to Pirot, also. Topli Do is 35km from Pirot and when you receive the Infosheet there will be more info about arriving to the meeting point from Pirot.

Come take part in the Silhouette festival, the largest short film festival of Paris! You are invited to take part in the Silhouette short film festival that is organized each year in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. The project also has the double ambition of being environmentally responsible and of raising environmental awareness. As for the environmental aspect of the project, you will be responsible for the creation and organization of an environmentally responsible stand at the festival, where you will offer a number of activities around the theme of the environment.
Our partner is the Silhouette association, which works for cinematographic education, and has organized this festival every year since 2002. Since the start, this festival has been collecting an always growing audience. The association was originally a student project that has since grown into a group that has created many open air festivals. Concordia has been partnered with Silhouette for the last five years, and has always been very happy to renew the collaboration each year! For further information, visit: https://www.association-silhouette.com/
The festival will take place in the Butte du Château Rouge park in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. You will be able to employ your free time to all the touristic, cultural, and any other leisure attractions that one may find in the city of Paris.
You will be hosted in Concordia’s premises in the 17th arrondissement of Paris and will commute everyday to the festival in the 19th arrondissement. You will have breakfasts at Concordia and will cook your lunches at the festival. The meeting point is set at Concordia’s headquarters at 3pm : 64 Rue Pouchet, 75017 Paris. Several public transportations can get you there: Brochant metro station (line 13) and Porte de Clichy metro station (lines 12, 13, 14) are the closest but you can also walk from from the tram station (tram T3b). The closest city is Pilsen, located about 10 km from Dysina, where you can also find pharmacies and ATMs. You can go on a trip to Pilsen (visit the famous brewery, cultural and historical monuments, museums, etc), visit the spa towns in the west of Bohemia, swim in a natural swimming pool, do sports in the sports ground near the accommodation, play board games, etc.
All the volunteers will sleep together in the local community centre in a big room. Bring your mat and a sleeping bag. There is also a common room with a kitchenette and a toilet. A washing machine is available. There is free WiFi too. Showers will be available in the football club about 10 mins walk from the accommodation. Breakfast and lunch will be provided in the local school canteen. Dinners and all the meals during the weekend will be prepared by the group from provided ingredients. A vegetarian and vegan diet is possible.
We are looking for responsible and passionate volunteers who are interested in working outside and eager to get to know what life in a small Czech village looks like. Bring a mat, a sleeping bag and suitable clothes and shoes for work. Bring your favourite recipes or any special ingredients you might need to share your national dishes with others. Do not forget to bring traditional objects/clothes/pictures/games you might need from your home country to present your own culture to the local community and the children.
